  • Joe: Hi everyone, welcome back to our third and finally segment from Chapter 2 in Volume

  • 2 of theBasics Elements of the Christian Life.” The title of this chapter is “A

  • Simple Way to Touch the Lord.” Michael, the section that were discussing today

  • is titledTrue Worship,” and it begins with two verses from John: John 4:23 and 24.

  • I’d like to read these two verses and ask a short question. It says, “But an hour

  • is coming, and it is now, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truthfulness,

  • for the Father also seeks such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship

  • Him must worship in spirit and truthfulness.” Michael: Right.

  • Joe: So based on this verse how can we render God this kind of true worship?

  • Michael: Well, this true worship of fellowship that God talks about, the Lord talks about

  • in these verses is intended to be constant and life-giving. God’s intention is that

  • we would not merely be ones who keep rules, regulations, and rituals but enter into a

  • rich, deep fellowship within with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as the Truth and the

  • Reality. There are a number of verses in the New Testament that really help us with this

  • matter, and we could summarize this true worship and this simple way to touch the Lord with

  • four little words: O Lord, Amen, Hallelujah. And maybe I could explain a little bit more

  • where we get these four words from: O Lord, Amen, Hallelujah. Well, in Matthew 8:2 it

  • shows a leper coming to the Lord and says that he bowed down and worshipped Him and

  • said, “Lord.” In Matthew 15 verse 25 the Canaanite woman beseeching the Lord to help

  • her little daughter, also it says she worshipped Him and said, “Lord.” And then we also

  • see in the Psalms in Psalm 119:145, “I called with my whole heart; answer me, O Lord...”

  • And Psalm 116:4 says, “But I called upon the name of the Lord. Lord...” So we see

  • that a component of our worship, simple worship to the Lord is this wonderful term: “O Lord,”

  • andLord.” Also, then Revelation chapter 3 verse 14 we see that the Lord’s name is

  • also the Amen; “These things says the Amen, the faithful and true Witness.” In 2 Corinthians

  • 1:20 were told thatIn Him is the Yes; and through Him is the Amen to God.” So

  • when we say, “O Lordor when we sayAmenwere really using the Lord’s name, touching

  • the Lord and rendering true worship to God and to our Father. Then finally, in Revelation

  • 19:4 it saysThe twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshipped

  • God who sits upon the throne saying, Amen, Hallelujah!” So again we see worshipping

  • God usingAmenandHallelujah.” So when we put these four words together:

  • O Lord, Amen, and Hallelujah, this is a simple way for us to touch the Lord and a simple

  • way for us to worship the Lord in spirit and truthfulness from deep within our being: “O

  • Lord, Amen, Hallelujah.” Joe: So, Michael in this segment we first

  • saw from John 4: 23 and 24 that God is Spirit and that we must be those who worship Him

  • in spirit and this is to give true worship to the Lord.

  • Michael: Yes. Joe: And then also we saw that one way to

  • render this true worship is this simple way to touch the Lord, which is to say, “O Lord,

  • Amen, Hallelujah.” Michael: Yes.

  • Joe: So anytime, no matter where we are or what were doing we can contact the Lord

  • by saying, “Oh Lord, Amen, Hallelujah.” Michael: Amen.

  • Joe: Amen. Michael, thank you for joining us and fellowshipping with us today.

  • Michael: Thank you Joe. Joe: And thank you all for joining us as well.

  • We’d like to encourage you to order theBasic Elements of the Christian Life

  • from Bibles for America in order to get into this topic even further. Thank you again for

  • joining us.

Joe: Hi everyone, welcome back to our third and finally segment from Chapter 2 in Volume
