They were sent all over Eastern Europe to straight airfields and marshaling yards by wars and 3 32nd down, 108 enemy aircraft received 744 air medals, 150 distinguished flying crosses, 14 Bronze Stars and one Silver Star.
But despite the accolades for their efforts overseas, the Tuskegee Airman returned to a segregated America indifferent to their achievements.
