  • The man who coached Ray Rice more than a decade ago here at New Rochelle, declaring the ray rice he knows will rise from this and help others learn.

  • So I think my kids are getting great lessons in terms of making a mistake, admitting it, not repeating it and learning from it.

  • So what better lesson to learn from an NFL superstar.

  • But inside New Rochelle High School, Rice's jersey and photo have been removed from the school's wall of fame.

  • Students have to know that when people do things that are really wrong and in this instance did something that was really, really bad, that there are consequences to that support among those in the stands for the surprise return of Ray Rice here, nearly unanimous community.

  • We're here for him.

  • We're trying to support him.

  • Way just feel very strongly that he deserves another chance.

  • I guess he just came back to, I guess, get some sort of show of support from team crowd.

  • Well, no, it's a pity.

  • Shouldn't really be here, Shouldn't you know?

  • I mean, it's Ah, it's a family issue and it's he should have the decency to keep away.

  • I guess the troubled NFL star's former high school coach is unequivocal.

  • Ray Rice can go home again.

  • The mistake he made will be erased by the good deeds he will continue to do and because of the good deeds that he has done.

  • No Marshall High School will always be Ray Rice's home, a safe haven for a star whose actions created anything but in New Rochelle.
