  • So what is it that makes Rodeo Houston bigger and better than any other rodeo in the world?

  • Well, no one knows that better than the rats themselves.

  • Houston is a great atmosphere, such an indoor outdoor atmosphere, and there's it's such a big place.

  • There's such a crowd of people that come to it, and it's just a really great hospitable environment.

  • And they really take care of us there in Houston Rodeo, Houston's and special to me from the very first time I was there in 2000 my rookie year, I went one the first go around pretty good check for a rookie.

  • And, yeah, it's been special ever since.

  • You know, especially being in Astrodome as a huge baseball fan, watching video on Bagwell, playing the Astrodome and then being able to compete in the same place that they got playing.

  • Houston's one of my favorite.

  • They treated slack, treated like what we wish we could be treated like all year long.

  • I mean, they they're always there and anything we need, and you know, that's the only place we go where they have that sort of medical staff.

  • I mean, we go places and their trainers on hand.

  • But there's your life, actual doctors there.

  • And so if you got a problem, you know it's it's somebody with the real credentials.

  • Tell you what you need to know now.

  • Houston's been good to me, up one at once, and I made them final four couple other times, and I'm really grateful because I know the way I am, and I wouldn't I would not have gone to the doctor for this.

  • I would've just kept struggling with not probably never got it fixed.

  • That arena there.

  • It's huge and it's packed.

  • Every every performance crowd is awesome.

  • Horse is great hospitality.

  • There is awesome.

  • People treat you like you're changing your family.

  • It's just it's my favorite rodeo.

  • It's a really big deal, you know, I don't know.

  • It's just ready you since one of the bigger one of the biggest radios in Texas or in the United States, and, uh, it's gonna be a part of it.

  • When I was younger, I used to get the Houston tapes, watch him.

  • They had, like, a bull riding stuff on, and I just like watching There isn't always wanted to go to Houston.

  • Rodeo is hard to beat.

  • It's a crowd is incredible.

  • It's so loud in such an adrenaline rock.

  • The stadium this huge Every time I go, Senator Productivity's here just never gets old.

  • Just walking in the huge stadium and to see all the fans is incredible rodeo use in there, some uptight about it.

  • There's so much God and money, and it's a really different Qatar.

  • For us, it's a small pot earn in a huge stadium, which is really mean.

  • You have to have a really special board, not really looks for the barrels of months.

  • Avails us and call it.

  • And so it's really fun because it's so different and unique.

  • And just all the excitement about rodeo sentence.

  • Really.

  • There's a lot of different sides that you'll see the rodeo cowboys.

  • And if you come out and kind of just relax a little bit and take in the whole environment, you'll see that everybody is just a little bit different on, uh, each competitor, you know, I mean, not a lot of folks think that, you know, we care about the animals, but there's a tone of care that goes into these animals, especially the rodeo athletes.

  • It's a one of a kind rodeo that that Arenas is is as big as some former ranchers, wheat field and so tohave a rodeo basically in a field that's an indoor facility.

  • It's a pretty neat been with Rodeo Houston.

  • You could get any type of fan in the stands because they don't know what they're gonna see from Rodeo.

  • Best concerts toe.

  • You know a guy doesn't want to see a wreck in the Rodeo Arena, but there's a good chance that you might see a you know something go on like that, and it's entertaining for the fans.

  • And also they get to meet all the Cowboys up top way, go up and sign autographs after our banner before event.

  • That's huge for the fans and the contestants, because without the fans there, we don't get paid.

  • So it's nice to be able to give back and show him that we appreciate it by taking patients signing autographs, entertainment.

  • You know you have best cowboys there and have a awesome concerts after the rodeo.

  • There's a lot going on experience, a lot of different stuff.

  • There's all the outside stuff.

  • Go see and you know the stock shows going on there.

  • It's really good atmosphere.

  • They have a great band afterwards, Just awesome place to be.

  • I think you should lost because there's so much work that goes into it.

  • Behind the scenes between the words and the rider, which I think is so special about me, so much time and our horses way treat them so well.

  • We love him so much.

  • And, uh, just how about bond in connection and to be able to see the athletes perform.

  • And to me, it's really about the horses.

  • They're incredible athletes.

  • And they are.

  • Every time I look out my voices, I think about how much power and just how much ability they have.

  • You work so hard, greatest horses, I thought.

  • And I think that's I think it's really special.

  • My most favorite memories are winning Rodeo Houston in 2015 a great year, especially the year before one second.

  • So I knew I could be right there close.

  • I didn't have a whole lot of luck there prior to that and women go rounds.

  • But being in the top, Ford coming back with his second in 2014 and coming back and winning 1st 2015 You know that that's huge paychecks, that bank that don't get us up and down the road and just such a prestigious rodeo that I've wanted to win my whole life.

  • So that's probably my most favorite memory.

  • Probably when I won the Super Shootout 2016 not on special delivery and 91 a half points.

  • I think my first year just being there and never forget walking down the alley of the rodeo.

  • Hearing the crowd, it's it's hard to describe.

  • It's such an adrenaline dries, making the fool around just be able to be in that go around.

  • I didn't win it, but I was just lucky to be there.

  • Remember when Boyd interviewed me on the floor?

  • He asked me if I would ever forget this moment, and I said, Not as long as I have a memory and I still I still think back to that day standing on the floor as many people as there are in the stands.

  • We don't get to perform in front of that large crowd anywhere else at one time, and it's a pretty special place for me because the live stock show and rodeo is not only the largest, but also the richest rodeo in the world.

  • But what's really cool and unique about this super serious format is it gives the fans a chance to easily follow along well.

  • At the same time, it gives the athletes a chance to make money each and every time they step out onto the arena floor.

  • This'll is the Rodeo, Houston, Super Siri's.

  • Here's how it works.

  • We invite 40 of the top competitors in each of our seven events.

  • They're divided into five Super Series.

  • Each one of those events is three rounds when they conclude the four highest money winners advance to one of our two semifinals.

  • There are 10 in each of the semifinal.

  • We take the top four from semi Final one and semi Final two and advanced them to the championship.

  • The six that do not advance from the semifinal round get one more chance.

  • They go to our wild card in the top two from the wild card, also make it to the championship.

  • They join the others for a shot at the $50,000 And that's how the Revolutionary Rodeo Houston Super Series works and one of the big changes for 2019 is that Rodeo Houston is now once again part of the p r C.

  • A.

  • So any of the earnings made during these Super Series will count towards NFR qualification.

So what is it that makes Rodeo Houston bigger and better than any other rodeo in the world?
