  • hello and welcome to another episode of the Jumps racing pocus here hosted by myself.

  • Bobby Beemer is always I'm joined by Nick Said it now, just before way a lot back what we saw over the weekend in preview the classic chase.

  • I just wanna let you know that if you are watches right now, this is on you to make sure you do subscribe to see myself on Nick doing this podcast weekend.

  • We can't get yet CR Smiley faces all.

  • If you do prefer, just listen to the audio.

  • It's available on Apple music on that sounded cloud as well.

  • Nick is always great to see a lot to look back on, and I think we're getting to see now show rail Shelton content is after what we saw over the weekend.

  • Hi, Bobby.

  • Good to see you.

  • As always.

  • It's a quick turnaround for us, isn't it?

  • Because we were on the here on Thursday doing a podcast.

  • So luckily for us, there's plenty to talk about.

  • As usual.

  • As you say, Children, please have plenty on big old debate brewing up in the Champion Hurdle division, which will get onto as well yeah, there certainly is indeed I've got reservations about that, by the way, but that very, very short.

  • But we'll start first with the Great War.

  • What we saw in such states Sundown it wants the tall with Fiddler on the Roof was very, very impressive.

  • Great display former from what we saw on sustain this is the interesting thing about it is if you look at the entry, so is enter for the Supreme is entered for the body more and it's also answered for the Albert Bartlett is well out of the three.

  • Where where did where would you put him?

  • Let let let's But where would you put him a car?

  • Those three?

  • Well, yeah, it's as you say.

  • It's really intriguing one, isn't it?

  • And he probably deserves to be in all three markets because he's shown a lot of versatility.

  • And I think the key thing here with this is that we have to remember a bit of yard politics.

  • Really, when it comes to call Intisar because he has three very, very good novice hurdlers in master, debonair, the big break away on dhe, this fiddler on the roof, and it's really just a case of tryingto I suppose being as broader challenges his outcome money because they much and he will want to be a top trainer or challenge to be top trainer at the festival.

  • So imagine that is, you know, bearing punters and bookies, air bearing that in mind.

  • But me personally, I think he's a supreme horse.

  • A supreme novice is awesome.

  • It was a supreme performance.

  • But this this race is is an indicator that all worth four, the supreme novices head on.

  • Only two horses, admittedly have won both this century.

  • A cz we said last last week.

  • But you know, it was hard not to be impressed by that performance the way which he beat that field.

  • And we came into it when we did the preview, saying, We thought that was quite a few nice types in there, waiting to beat them.

  • I'm decimated them pulled away from the smart, potentially smart performance was really, really impressive.

  • I think the fact that he's 8 to 1 for the supreme novices heard there's a big clue about where the where is loyalties lie because it may also be a case with, you know, college is, I don't want to keep them separate, if possible.

  • But there's a certain 13 to 8 favor in the Ballymore that everybody will want to avoid as well.

  • Yeah.

  • Yes, definitely indeed.

  • Did just just talking about, though his his rivals a cz.

  • Well, Nick, do you do you think for the other horses, that would be a case of going back to the drawing board with them?

  • I think so, Yeah.

  • You know, for some of these novices, the majority of them were having just the third of four star, so we know that sand down can come up very soft.

  • It was soft on Saturday.

  • You know, it's a big shock sometimes for these novice shirtless to face testing ground.

  • I thought the mayor Jeremy's flame came out with plenty of credit from over in Ireland came from Gavin Cromwell's yard.

  • She looked a really smart murder.

  • She went down fighting, and you know, she's she's want to consider for the dorm room nothing for the rest of them.

  • You say, you know, sort of cameras got powerful connections.

  • Indeed, with Nicky Henderson on car with Georgia as well from poor Nichols, I'm sure that they will go back to the drawing board and they will go on to be productive careers as well.

  • But it might be a big compliment to be beaten the way they were by this Fiddler on the roof will just have to wait and see just talking about their envoy, Alan, that one of the great one on Sunday at Mace again.

  • Multiple entries.

  • It the festival.

  • There's an entry for the Supreme.

  • The champion Heard was well, but as it stands at the moment for the Baltimore the 13 it's eight.

  • Market leader, which what a sister.

  • That's where he'll end up.

  • However, this is this question mark of the champion Hurdle.

  • The Rays.

  • Yeah, and I suppose you can see why.

  • I think the thing is with Challenge him is, I suppose, when there is a a division that is particularly weak or looks open like the champion Hurdle you're going tohave punters, fans, trainers looking at their options and considering whether they have something, maybe from the left field.

  • So in the past few weeks, you know the mayor honeysuckle.

  • Her name has been thrown around because she's been so good in her division, and it's only natural, really.

  • If you've got such a good novice like this on violin has proven to be so far.

  • AIDS May 3 starts over hurdles, and he's been flawless in all three to Grade one wins already under is about, and you know it's almost inevitable that people are gonna want to see him thrown in the deep end because it's so exciting.

  • But personally, I just think it's there's no point.

  • If you are being totally selfish from it's your horse, you've got a great one of the Challenge Festival on offer in the novice division that is so much easier to to go after at this stage with the horse.

  • It's still learning his trade at six.

  • Yeah, I think you're really asking an awful lot of the horse to step up into open company like that.

  • The champion hurdle and, you know, it looks like the Baltimore is going to be the number one target.

  • That's because he went on Sunday in the lawyer of Nace novices.

  • Hurdle that was over two and 1/2 miles to Baltimore is over 25 so that you'd think that that would be the target bought is showing plenty of speed so far, there's no reason why you can't drop back and win the Supreme on DDE.

  • I tell you what.

  • If he did actually go for the champion, Odo, would you take my opinion out and let's say they took him in and, you know, really sporting about it, looking at the champion heard And you'd have to You'd have to factor nothing.

  • That's why would it say Tear would have seen previous years, We probably would have sat here and said, You know, go for their body more, you know, keep it simple.

  • However, this year on, look at that two mile division.

  • You've really got to fund see your chance to show it.

  • You've got to Avenue.

  • You know, we don't want to bash the champion hurdle in division too much.

  • But you know what way said a lot about a pretender in last episode, and you know it's It's a week division.

  • When you know a male like that, I suddenly favor the champion head off the back of one grade one performance and bubbles have just been bursting left, right and center in this division.

  • So a lot of them of holes in, you know, classical Dream has struggled so far this term Pentland Hills.

  • He was another Chapman hero last season.

  • It didn't go to plan for him in the international hurdle, but at the same time of those horses bounce back, it would be a big ass for a novice to take them on that.

  • Just look at what we shall say looking.

  • But I beg your pardon, but not looking at just looking back what we saw on Sunday.

  • Also where plumped.

  • And it was the the Sussex National.

  • It went in the way of a Christmas in April, while it weren't Christmas today, pull.

  • It was Christmas in January effort for this source, but he got the job done there for calling, desire and hurry, Captain.

  • Yeah, he did.

  • And I think it's worth pointing out that this is a really, really good card down and plant.

  • And I don't have you bean before Bobby, but it really is one of my favorites, right?

  • It's a cracking course, and you know, they do have this mystical bonus as well.

  • If you can win a race that Clinton and go on to win the Challenge Festival don't have, it's still going.

  • But I think it's about £60,000 offer on DDE.

  • I don't think we've got a challenge.

  • Amirault in Christmas in April, but his name might be a clue as to where his future may lies.

  • It's still only an eight year old, but that might be a certain April shape piece on the radar in the future.

  • But, I mean, let's not get ahead of ourselves.

  • He's won a variation of the Grand National the Store six.

  • National Andi looked a really promising stare.

  • In doing so.

  • This is the 2nd 1 on the truck for Colin Tizard.

  • E showed plenty of stamina to win over three and 1/2 miles.

  • He handled really testing conditions, and he came out on top by just shy of two lengths off a mark of 123.

  • Now it is a world away from the national.

  • We save your we need about 145 to guarantee yourself a run, But I am I imagine, for a horse that showing plenty of stamina over three and 1/2 miles, I think you go up to about 130 for this.

  • I wonder if the IDA next month at Newcastle might be on the radar for it.

  • Yeah, a great shout to head up to wear two ghosts with their park deployed T shirt.

  • It was also in that there was enclosure on Sunday afternoon.

  • Now he beat the North on one plate winner from this year with asserts in their homes.

  • Stairs Wednesday's interested there were deployed to the ship because he has been in office for some time now.

  • He has, yeah, it Sze, almost nice to see him finally click into place because he almost became a running joke with how frustrating he was.

  • He was with your Elliot for what felt like eternity.

  • You know, he's been novice chasing now for quite some time since back in 2017 and it always felt like he'd find a way to be beaten.

  • It be sent off his favorite for these novice contests for these bigger parts and everyone really, really well mitt times, but would conspire to be beaten in the in the latter stages.

  • But I think it was a hint of just how high the connections thought of him.

  • That he was sent off is it was 11 to 2, back in 2018 for the close brothers and the chase is a big gamble behind him.

  • It was very much the plot.

  • See, what year was that?

  • It was at the end.

  • Up, Mr Whitaker.

  • 2018.

  • It waas So a couple of years ago, your Mr What was it?

  • Make shutting brain heals it.

  • Wasit was spot on Mr Wicked.

  • Mr.

  • Whitaker came out on top.

  • Yeah, that's just a level of how highly the thought of him.

  • It never went to plan, but he's left the Gordon Elliott team.

  • He changed hands, is now with Susie Best and he just thinks, seemed to be clicking into place with him.

  • He wouldn't want you now, but back in August on Dhe need one room one, since he's now 12 of his last three starts when he wanted on Sunday.

  • It's a pretty notable scalp, and I think he's really interesting.

  • You know, he's never once put for faith in temperament wise, but we've got here a 10 year old novice, one of the most experienced novices going.

  • It might just be worth keeping an eye on over the next few weeks and months because I much in his connections, his new train will be very canny with him.

  • They've got a very experienced novice, and there are some decent pots open this time of year in these novice, smaller, novice races.

  • Wouldn't surprise me either if they went for a bit of a sequence or if they decided to chuck him in one of these big, big part novice contests, like the National on Chaser in Equipments Time is not the only older novice chases them around.

  • Is this a certain a 12 year old gelding on Nobody, Sir Chasing now as well, with a certain for him, And I agree with everything.

  • What you said there, Nikki in terms of the clotting, Should it be interested to see where connections do what go with him going forward right there?

  • We're gonna real treat for the viewers unless is now here off the jumps race in Polk Custer.

  • Because we're going to hear now from former England Liverpool and Real Madrid football a statement monument on the Gold Coast.

  • So I just thought, actually, basically about the Chapman Gold Cook picture after after the festive period because so much happened.

  • We'll start with the King George and the winner comes over.

  • He's now a joking George winners, is he?

  • They want to be in the Gold Cup.

  • Funny enough, I thought, Well, he was incredibly impressive, wasn't even in the King George.

  • I just don't know how impressive the race will will run as compared with the Gold Corp picture only because their name looks as if he just didn't stay, which is fine because nobody found that out.

  • No problem.

  • Lost in translation was going well before that.

  • Made that really bad mistake, and its other winds on the race might panels as if it might be the greatest King George.

  • Regardless off Klunder plunges over winning as well.

  • As you know, I don't wantto I don't want to disrespect the victim because you know we want so well on dhe.

  • It was a great race, but I don't know whether.

  • Yes, he's the one to be support.

  • Of course, I'll boom false a one a two A weekend, of course, is the Children Gold Cup holder Cam Boy ran so that this there's still a few.

  • If anything, it's probably the best form.

  • But whether it's it's good enough for Theo to win the race because of how how it finished last year is another question, actually, Native Rivers out 21.

  • Nothing in the market.

  • You know, of course, that what a ground depends.

  • And I still think there's a lot of question marks actually leading up to the festival.

  • What did you think about Lost in translation?

  • Do you think it was just a blip?

  • But he'll be back.

  • I mean, they saw the desire.

  • Suggested it could be a win problem.

  • Would you stop?

  • Keep will be Wong come March?

  • Yes, I think so.

  • I think so.

  • The way it was running on it was it didn't look entirely comfortable.

  • But they're not that bad mistake when it it jumped the fence.

  • You see, it knocked the wind out of it on.

  • But the fact that they said it it's gonna have a wind operation before I think it.

  • Well, it's only a baby.

  • Of course, in the in, the realms of the proper three mile chase is coming up against you know, a lot of the experience sources, but yeah, you know, if you were if you looking at the race again, if you were saying, you know, the King George or the Children gold, you fancy it Looking at the way the race pond out on the bases before the pizza.

  • Marcia the best paid off fancy, you know, Boston translation to finish ahead of their names.

  • So at least speaking, at least the sort of getting to where you know they need to know.

  • You know, if it can get three miles, if you can get three miles to with Sheldon, which of course, is like three miles for anywhere else.

  • So at least it started Thio get the proper horses into into the Gold Corp Just I think a lot of you know that Sheldon and races Ah, a lot of the form of the minute seems seems the Lion Islands when you know when I look at the two sets of race and a lot of ah lot of the decent animals have seen on the track, at least all seem to based in island.

  • So it could be on island with a very heavy this year.

  • The Children, because all my eyes are drawn to the eye the short term on when I'm when I'm looking there for the help inform.

  • Yeah, you mentioned it was the Settles.

  • Chase wasn't over Christmas, and at the won t They probably went t that you'd expect that it's a welcome mortally Do you think we've got a set of them now?

  • Yeah.

  • I don't think they're good enough for the gold Corpus.

  • Well, even though they you know, they run really well, you know, Delta were listed on the line.

  • They all finish with a bit of a bunch that day on DDE.

  • You know, I don't necessarily like that either.

  • I think the Gold Cup is such a unique races.

  • I know we've had surprised winners in the past Lord Windermere's and whatever, but normally that you know the good or has really come to the fore the good stay in or I put, for instance, upper cleansers all those form ahead of Delta, where Molly had put that way ahead of that.

  • It's just weather.

  • The likes of Al Boom foretold the likes of Kemboi.

  • You know how you know how tunes off How Fit and Betty are they going to be, you know, fully fully wound up to the best of their ability on the day that I still think that form is a little tiny bit better than think Landers, Although another said I don't want to clamp plunders all because it was them.

  • An incredible achievement by Paul Nichols.

  • You know the 1st 1 in Ireland was impressive, but then follow it up with that tape of victory in the King George.

  • You can't really knock it.

  • But the fact that he's still not favor for the big day shows that people have got a few negatives of artists.

  • You mentioned Kemp.

  • Boy, I don't know about you, Steve.

  • I sort of get the feeling that he's building up to something, you know, being so much, so many problems with the ownership issues and what not, You know, we haven't seen them.

  • And then, you know, he comes out on runs okay?

  • The other day, as you rightly said, it is, if the building off you know, the peak of the mountain is Shelton on, we know that he ended and gets his horses ready.

  • We know everybody targets the horses for those days on the fact that the nicest going nice and slowly reading maybe the issue the ownership issues is being a plus for them, where they can withdraw from the limelight and introduce it slowly might be a good thing, but the fact that we've only just seen album Bozo in the fact that we've only just seen Kemboi, I think you know the only run decent enough races first time.

  • Oh, that was a nice race here.

  • There's a present in pairs.

  • He didn't run too good.

  • So you know, there's a few a few cross marks against a few, but there's a few, you know, little plus points.

  • As in, you know, people are starting Thio reach the peak at the right time.

  • That's the thing without being, you know, it is easy to forget.

  • I think that he's he's the favorite because he's got the radar aboard.

  • The only one with Child for wonder, is about coming into the gold go well, yeah, he's the sort of the you forgot your weirdly enough, you know, if you go and ask people on the street who won like a champion Gold Cup last year, a lot of them and say, I'll be full.

  • So you know, people talk about my bait or native river or going back to court all stars in the demo and you know this trendy your horses out there.

  • But as you said I'll boot.

  • Photo came, won the race went away without a minimum of force rarely and because it was an Irish wouldn't.

  • Of course it doesn't.

  • You know, it's not sort of rammed in our faces in England's a lot, but, you know, the race of the day was it was It was a nice little was a nice little air prepped for it.

  • Wasn't onion off course the so much training.

  • Make sure Willie Mullins gets them ready.

  • So, you know, I think that's the thing.

  • The fact that way all love, child, when we all get up to it, a lot of people don't know form on, you know, of course.

  • Don't know the Hyundai Cup marks of the horses in an island.

  • But every time I look and, you know, even looking even looking yesterday at night, he was some really nice performances from these horses on you fully expect him to get even better on there for the festival.

  • When it comes around, I am.

  • It didn't seem like surname State The three miles now out to yours do to run at the weekend over to now, mouse.

  • Yeah, you because you're quite nice to see a rematch between those two it will be at and you just want That will be interesting to see Won't because you don't you wonder whether you know what happens at the weekends.

  • Whether you know out could easily go back to the Queen Mother, you know, could easy job back down to, You know, she will be interesting to see whether they want to take each other on or whether they would like more than happy like to avoid each other.

  • You know, go for the two and 1/2 mile or the Ryan Air or whatever the case is.

  • But your woman, the weather, you know, there just stay away from each other because, of course, to get winner shelter them is the most important thing.

  • Whether it's the Ryanair, whether it's the Queen Mother, of course, that'll big races and still got more proceeds and the other to get a winner that Children, it is so good and you know, so, so fantastic for the for the owners.

  • I thought it would be interesting to see what alcohol does and how well it stays and unlike watch, because Aziz said Shelton, out your love Shelton on DDE you know there's another couple of Fair Long's on 2222 every day and have Children because of the way the races of running the pace of the races.

  • And, of course, Steve Hell coming home.

  • So that was Steve McManaman.

  • A real pleasure to hear from a footballing legend, Bobby, who well exposed at the start of this season.

  • We didn't expect someone like that to be on with.

  • No, we said we certainly didn't.

  • And how lucky a way to get Steven Monument on its well, because for me, growing opposite as a young blood in the nineties.

  • No, I watch Steven Monument play football for England and Liverpool.

  • You know, for the fantastic football player, it wasn't great laser massive racing fields yesterday.

  • A cz Well, you know, it is his own horses in there.

  • The plus Andi knows his stuff as well, which is great.

  • So we're very lucky to him on the podcast, certainly does know his stuff and didn't do too badly with the horses.

  • Even earned a certain Siebold at the beginning of the century that you may remember take statements that in Moscow Flyer, I think t 1000 to you I think so.

  • Anyway, Bobby, I thought that turned this round to you.

  • Now I'm in a little quit is very exciting.

  • You may have spotted that something over the last few days on horse racing dot net.

  • That really lit up Twitter.

  • We had a debate about the most underrated race courses in the U.

  • K.

  • And it was just a really good opportunity to sing the praises about some of the smaller tracks because we all know how good challenge him and that Scott in the likes are.

  • But there are plenty of hidden gems in there.

  • So I've set you a task of maybe flagging up a couple of race courses that you bean to that maybe perhaps a little bit smaller than that you enjoyed and, you know, just just to put them up.

  • Really?

  • Yeah.

  • No, it's Thank you for this on.

  • I'm gonna take it back to you as well.

  • So you okay?

  • Yours?

  • I can't You be the hot seat for too long now kind of thing.

  • You know, we'll know I've loved it down to 23 It should be only sweetly, though I could have named a lot because I think There's a some fantastic race courses out there that don't necessarily get the credit.

  • If if I'm being honest s So what I've done, I'm nobody down to three.

  • My 1st 1 is Lester.

  • I really enjoyed Lester.

  • It's actually one of my favorite race courses.

  • Well, Pontin, I've always done well there.

  • Something just just falls right for May on.

  • I've always had great days out when I've gone down there as well with the family.

  • The same could be said for for not ing him as well.

  • I remember once upon a time when they used to have, like jumps racing at Nottingham and also that was it some years ago before that.

  • Finished again.

  • You know, not in game.

  • A relatively small truck go there with the family had some good success there as well.

  • I know they have the Nottingham Sure Oaks, which is wrong.

  • Midweek.

  • So another great track that I do like but said the one that I'm reminiscing get the praises for is that you talk sitter because in my opinion, Nick, this is one off the best race courses in the country without a shadow of a doubt.

  • It's a great day for everybody you know well again when I take my kids way up So ever amazing day there that the races Brilliant.

  • I love the Midlands Grand National.

  • You've got this summer copper as well.

  • The team that you'd socks.

  • It's air absolutely phenomenal that they're so friendly that the were card that just brilliant from start to finish on Dhe.

  • I would like to see them actually gets some former A great race, to be honest with you, you know, Great.

  • Three.

  • Great, So great one even.

  • Let's see them get a great one.

  • Would that be a chase or over the hurdles?

  • But yeah, I can't speak any more.

  • Highly off that you talk to turn, I'll emphasize.

  • This is, Well, Nick.

  • It is one of the best race courses in the U.

  • K.

  • I agree with the Bobby.

  • I'm lucky enough to have been to quite a few racecourses.

  • Thanks for Dad.

  • And I always remember going to you talk to terror.

  • Just you feel really close to the action.

  • I don't know what it is.

  • It's a proper national on track.

  • It's like homely as well, isn't it?

  • Got nice atmosphere to it, definitely on do you know, you've You've also got the added bonus that if if you kids don't really fancy it, you can drop them off at Alton Towers.

  • And yeah, for yourself.

  • Not so far away.

  • Not for it all.

  • No.

  • So that for yourself, I'd give you my three.

  • What?

  • Which one or ones you will give a mention to?

  • Well, I certainly agree with you our new tac stir, and agree the wants on all three that you that you came out with.

  • And there are plenty of race courses that has ever mentioned here, too.

  • That I'm gonna put up.

  • One was near my old on haunting ground when used to work A time for Pompey frat wasn't too far away.

  • Pompeo We just talked about Norman.

  • Absolutely.

  • We just thought about a proper jumps.

  • Track it that you talked to Toe Ponti is a proper, proper flat track.

  • And listen really good racing there as well.

  • The tankard stakes that's a listing contest.

  • Usually see a good horse there if you go there often.

  • Andi, The other one and I'm going to be read.

  • If you read the article, you already know, or if you follow me on Twitter.

  • You know I'm obsessed with the place, but Carmel race course it really is an absolute gem of you ever.

  • You're being yourself.

  • It's one race course I've not Bean Thio, but it's It's a Sunday at the book.

  • At least I couldn't recommend.

  • Then offer really couldn't.

  • It's perfect for that for the family as well.

  • It'sjust, a bonkers race course.

  • It's inside out.

  • So the whole grandstand is in in the infield because of that.

  • Really, everything is all together so that the family section and the fair is on one side.

  • And then you've got the you know she got a nice atmosphere than the bit more with serious race.

  • Go in, the old mingle together.

  • You know the racing.

  • You're not going to see court Oh star.

  • But it's getting better all the time.

  • They have their own £40,000 feature.

  • Tom Jones is there in the summer.

  • On this.

  • The village next door is Well, we sticky toffee pudding.

  • There's a cake, man.

  • Bobby, that's gonna draw.

  • You ensure, like low stay, but definitely all right in Indiana.

  • Quite Joe Dirt doing that.

  • You know what?

  • Speaking about some Some of the race course there, right then, let's let's look forward now.

  • To where?

  • The Classic Chase on Saturday.

  • Warrick.

  • We know that's a lot of trainers use this as as a trial.

  • The stepping stone towards the Grand National in particular for a few years ago.

  • Want for Arthur won this race, he went on to win the Grand National.

  • After that, Mallon's bar will come to that horse of the 2nd 1 This race a few years ago also and then went on to finish fifth in the Grand National Lets Start.

  • That is, at the time of recording, with the the market leader the conditional here, who run a crack last time to finish second in the lab.

  • Brooks Trophy.

  • Yeah, very much so.

  • And probably the right favor at the time of right time recording.

  • Given and you know what?

  • This is a really, really competitive race, but this the conditional, really arrives here on a proper or would trajectory.

  • You know where he's only been with David Bridgewater for and full of starts this season, but he's come on so quickly, you know, you get off the mark two starts ago.

  • It Chatham's over fences that tells you how fast he's progressing on.

  • You know that that form is really working out well, because he beat two in second and third in West approach in Calgary.

  • You want to win in the November and then the December meetings, respectively, it telling them so that form has been front.

  • And then he built on that to finish a marvelous second in the lab.

  • Brooks Trophy last time out.

  • I don't think the extra trip will be an issue here stepping up to three mile five.

  • It is a real test for stays, but he shaped as one that will appreciate that on Dhe.

  • You know, he's currently off the mark of one for two.

  • Now we've talked about how the classic Chase is an indicator of the Grand National with one year after winning it 2 to 3 years ago on.

  • We've talked also earlier in the in the podcast about how 145 is the Golden Territory in terms of sneaking into entries, right?

  • Do you think they'd want to win this race if he's on 142 now?

  • Because if they decimate the field, he's gonna be eating up towards the one fifties.

  • Yeah, well, to be honest video if he wins it, then.

  • Yet, as you say, you know the handicap Mark is going to go all.

  • But if if he does win it, the confidence is going to be high, you know?

  • So don't get along.

  • It might run a great race in defeats.

  • But if if if it was made, you want to win this on Goldman, a cracker in the ground in the Grand National, that's my opinion.

  • Anyway, you know that that's that's the way I'm going in.

  • And let's be honest, you know, as you're waiting out there, you know, one fifties, you know, no problem.

  • No problem.

  • No, I don't suppose it the way it is these days anyway, you've got to be a good horse to win, to win the Grand National in the modern day and age.

  • And what better way I supposed, you know, winning a race like this.

  • But it will be no mean feat because they're much and it will be testing as well.

  • Inside Kimble Eye Candy is the second favorite at the time of record, Of course, he was second in the beach, a chase behind a walk in the mail definitely aimed at the Grand National, and I thought he run a good race it behind the window, and I also think you'll go well on Saturday as well.

  • Hey, did he run?

  • He ran brilliantly.

  • Well, entry last month.

  • We've just talked about how the conditional is a potential national type.

  • Kim, like Camby, is very much a national type.

  • E thrived over the National fences on his first try in the beach last month.

  • And, yeah, he comes here with every chance.

  • I mean, that form is not to be scoffed at Aintree at the likes of definitely Red and one for Arthur and behind him.

  • So he is a smart staying chaser on.

  • He's only got £3 as well.

  • For that, he comes here off 1/4 e.

  • So he's an eight year old.

  • He's very much on the up on his offer.

  • Very comparative.

  • Marcus.

  • Well, so it wouldn't surprise me if he went off his favorite petite power.

  • This year, our plasma knelt for petite power.

  • If you cannot rule out any for Gle O'Brien horse, that's my note for it.

  • Yeah, well, that that's I think that's the right point, because Brian is having the year of his life.

  • I think Joe, who works in our social media team, he's part of a syndicate.

  • That other horse with them over Brian, the Millennium Racing Club.

  • And he came out with a stop from for.

  • Fergal was saying that he on Saturday eclipsed his number of winners from last season.

  • On Saturday.

  • We're only on January that the 4th 1 on Saturday.

  • So you know he's having a brilliant season since switching yards, and this one as well is in really good heart at the moment.

  • Petite power.

  • He just fell to land the hat trick Exeter last month, but there was no shame in that.

  • He's a real strong stare.

  • The only thing I would say about him is he's off a career high mark.

  • Now comes a rough £1316 higher.

  • It's gonna be a big ass for him.

  • But, as you say, rule out anything from Fergus O'Brian, job stealing addition.

  • Now this one wouldn't film it with too much confidence, just to say the least.

  • After what we saw last time, No on and we've mentioned this point as well a few times is that we're still finding Gow about that form because it came in a listed race that sand down back in November.

  • And it was former.

  • Got everyone talking because it involved a certain Santini who the start of the year was had Goldcorp aspirations and still does, because that is a really wide open division, but something he made really hard work of it beating.

  • Now McGinty on then, um, he's people's while the weapon scene said so.

  • But we know how good he is because he won the big race.

  • It's sand down back in April, so there's reasons to think that he can have the benefit of the doubt for that, you know, on reappearance.

  • But at the same time, we've not seen him since.

  • He's got to really come on for that reappearance, to have any sort of chance here off what's a pretty steep mark now?

  • Regal flow.

  • It's currently in the field as it sounds.

  • The moment he was second in that veterans race wasn't take on on seventh day.

  • Now is he going to go for this?

  • I was surprised to see his name.

  • I suppose it's one of those when you've got a 13 year old who has just run a storm on.

  • He seems to be loving the game.

  • If he's come out of it really well on Saturday, why not?

  • But I think that at the moment is a mark against him because he's 13 years old.

  • It's a really big ask as a quick turnaround.

  • Then he is as well.

  • He's on a near two year losing run, but he is a 2018 Midlands national weather, he said.

  • Often absolute feather weigh £8 below that winning mark when winning the men's national.

  • So you know you can't really mouth.

  • But I think it would take a real leap of faith to be to be back in a 13 year old with any seriousness.

  • Really, LeBron, Now this is interesting.

  • And every time we talk about liberal, we always say, Oh, it's interesting that they're doing this with him because he Iran in the the West Yorkshire Hurdle on Charlie whole day, where it was, it was partner pray so that it was went in, you know, the four Mylar Charlie, me running to be chased last time out.

  • It finished seventh.

  • Now Jamie Cod it was it was back on board last time out in the beaches.

  • So I think for what together, right?

  • They are campaigning for a tilt.

  • Ah, the Grand National on what we say.

  • No, we say that Jamie might come over again from island to ride him.

  • They haven't done the jockey book into cider yet, have they?

  • So, you know, I wouldn't be surprised if unless Jamie's got some rise, obviously.

  • And I.

  • Lewis, I'm surely well, you know.

  • But I won't be surprised again if it wants to turn up.

  • It's that what a concert today we imagine.

  • So it's one to take seriously that if that's the case and you do get the feeling, as you say, Bobby, that we are building up to something with Roy, I do think that at first glance, you look at his runs.

  • So far it was, I think he was last in the West Yorkshire Heard or on then hey was ninth in the beach.

  • But that was his first try over the national fences, and I thought he ran all right to be honest for his first go over daunting fences.

  • So I think there's mitigating circumstance.

  • This is what we've seen so far, especially bear in mind that Ben Paul ing's not having the best year at the moment.

  • No, um, if the building up to something in April, it wouldn't make sense that he would come on with every run.

  • And I think if he she shakes with any degree of, you know, if you really big finishes third or fourth here, I'd be really encouraged with the Grand National in mind.

  • So I think he's very much want to keep an eye on.

  • But I will say that I think his mark is high enough as well.

  • At 148 Let's talk about some previous winners, including the horse won the race 12 months ago.

  • Now he won the classic chase.

  • And then after that, is that three run since Andi got pulled up in every single one.

  • You know, she's got plenty of peas by his name.

  • It run in the four Mile, which Labroy, obviously one.

  • It was pulled up in the in the Scottish National on their last time out.

  • It was pulled up in the back.

  • Victor.

  • Yeah, it's another one where you sort of say, at first glance, you'd struggle to fancy and but you have to remember that she's that she's a previous winner.

  • It is.

  • It's a mayor, isn't it?

  • Impulsive star.

  • I've been calling error.

  • He home.

  • She's been struggling.

  • I'm gonna check that so I don't see myself crazy.

  • First gun.

  • She struggled in the 1st 3 starts.

  • It's a busy guarding shambles.

  • He struggled in his 1st 3 starts last three starts, but he is a previous winner of this race, so we know that he handles the ground.

  • We know that you've got the ability to win a race like this, and I think it's really interesting that he's £4 lower this time around.

  • So he's waited to go Well, it's another one that is a bit of a leap in faith.

  • T go for him for wind purposes, but yeah, I don't think you can write him off it all.

  • But for all that, he has something to prove.

  • It wouldn't shock me one bit if he suddenly bounced back to form here.

  • After what I run that he probably needed a child on last month to bring him back to fitness and lands bar the winner two years ago, back in back in 28 any went on to win a cracker in the Grand National as well.

  • Of course, that was around.

  • The Frost is first right in the big one a couple of years ago, very out for no sense here.

  • Indeed, Jack, entrusting seasons wasn't wth e everyone.

  • The classic Chase on the Briny could do anything wrong, really went on t carry on running really well.

  • Fifth in the national issues, say on Dhe.

  • Then last season was borderline a write off.

  • To be honest, I really never got going whatsoever.

  • Think the big sleight against him now is his age?

  • He's 13.

  • Um needed the road, they imagine worried back in November, but another one that you can't write off now, and he's on a decent marks on 1 30 so £4 lower than when winning it.

  • But yep, comes there out of form and is nothing more than probably likable veteran of this state way are looking forward to safe places.

  • It's a good thing is just very quickly just for being the podcaster, and it's actually one of the races that I do look forward thio over their jobs, and I think it's a great stepping stone towards the national or nationals?

  • Definitely.

  • You know, the big characteristic of a national, be it the Grand National, the Scottish national blah, blah bother.

  • All of the variations of the National is that you've got to be a real stare on Dhe Warrick being the combination of three mile five Andi, usually testing ground as well means that it's a really barometer for these national races.

  • And it's a real test in its own right.

  • Much like the idea is, if I remember correctly, when I chapter Carrie Carrie Lee on the Christmas episode a couple of months ago last month, she won this with Russo Blunk into yes and 16.

  • She's she's well qualified, and I'm almost certain that when I asked her what are the real test of stamina along with the Welsh National?

  • She mentioned this race on the idea.

  • So it just goes to tell you what a real barometer this is for staying chase of the future.

  • Yeah, definitely.

  • Some stomach went to win.

  • The race is you've just mentioned their knickers.
