  • Greetings, Clint here and yes, we've just past nine years of LG are being, ah, thing, which is wild.

  • So thank you very much for all the support over nearly a decade of doing these L G R things, it is always appreciated and sharing videos, commenting just watching, donating things, saying nice stuff in person and even sending some challenging things.

  • You know, I always want to improve, So that's important as well.

  • It's all part of the process, and I thank you very much for that.

  • Normally, I do something a little more involved than this for an anniversary video.

  • But this year I decided to do something a little bit different.

  • I'm gonna take a break.

  • A very short break.

  • No worries.

  • There did not disappear for months or anything.

  • I'm gonna be resuming videos on July 13th 2018.

  • I'll be back working on things before then.

  • But, you know, I wanted to just get my head space a little bit clear because, honestly, I need it.

  • I have been doing some pretty intense videos recently.

  • My brain is fried like it just felt like do after finishing that 30 minute gives Mondo like many documentary thing ended up being way more involved than I intended, but I didn't want to leave anything out.

  • And, you know, then there was like, a SIM video before that that I spent like 30 straight hours just finishing up because I wanted to get that out in a timely manner and all sorts of other things And some videos a budget videos, actually, that aren't going out.

  • One I'm working on right now that's gonna be pretty lengthy is grab the ultrasound sound card retrospective.

  • That's one that's been in the works for years.

  • And I finally got I think, all of the stuff together that I want to show in the video.

  • And I catch, you know, I need time.

  • I guess Thio recoup a bit for about a week.

  • So I'm gonna go and I don't know, do some things like that air fun or something.

  • I don't even know what to do.

  • Just work all the time, which is flying.

  • This is what actually keeps me energized, really is doing all of these videos and communicating back and forth of you posting cool things that I find fascinating and interesting and retrospectives and all the historical stuff.

  • But, you know, I can't even remember the last time that I played like a DOS team for fun.

  • I would like to do that again.

  • Then, you know, like I don't see a movie drive somewhere that's further than an hour away.

  • So I don't feel like I need to come back immediately and, you know, do some voiceover filming or something.

  • Anyway, Yeah, take lower week off or something like that, and we'll be back with cool things.

  • Hopefully, you just give you an idea of some of those.

  • I do have several projects in the works, probably about a dozen, one of which mean the aforementioned gravis ultrasound video.

  • That's gonna be pretty cool.

  • I've got three year, four cards to show there and a bunch of software and all sorts of things.

  • I've got a video coming up.

  • It's on where about the many disc data format and other related things from Sony computer storage that's a bit hot for your PC.

  • I have another storage type of video, just sort of algae are thing on a gigantic CD changer for DOS and Windows PCs.

  • That's brand new in the box, and I don't know I always found those kind of intriguing is the kids.

  • I think that'll be fun.

  • What we're gonna do everything of some kind on digital research is C.

  • P M 86 which was an alternative to PC and M S DOS Back in the day, it was kind of a mixed, holdover thing of CPM and what we'll talk about that I got in a boxing of sorts to do of ah, bunch of donations that arrived over the past couple months.

  • There's always a Drifts episode in the works, and it's just, you know, that depends on luck.

  • So who knows when that will happen on an M deck monitor?

  • That's a really neat like monochrome amber screen thing.

  • I was able to find one new old stock, so that'll be kind of fun.

  • I think.

  • Open up a monitor monitor and test it out with a bunch of games running and Hercules mode and whatnot.

  • Do have some game coverage as well.

  • I want to do a video on the after Dark's after Dark's After Dark Games collection, which that's over there somewhere.

  • We'll see what else you got.

  • Wizards and warlords is a thing.

  • It's a game that is, from the eighties, a very obscure role playing thing for PCs that, as far as I know, has never been shown or archived at all online.

  • Or at least I can't find much of any record about it.

  • But I did.

  • I talked to the developer just a little bit indirectly, and I got some information on that, so that's kind of fun.

  • I think you know, I don't really know what I'm doing.

  • There's all sorts of things, like just looking on the shelves there.

  • Holy crap.

  • There's that video on the Creative game Blaster having the work's still that's been going on for a while.

  • Another need for speed retrospective over their Motor City online.

  • Because I figured out that you could play some of it offline.

  • That seems interesting, and I have that ridiculous like duel of voodoo to card thing.

  • It's the Obsidian Freedy, something or other.

  • It's like two voodoo cards sandwich together.

  • It's a lot of things that are all half done, like I was just going through my folders on my PC the other day.

  • I'm like, Wow, look at all these projects that I did like 1/4 off and then, like there's always something right.

  • There's a bit of research that I can't find or like, a piece of software that doesn't work or, more often, a piece of hardware that doesn't work.

  • Or there's a conflict in my existing hardware and have to fix that hardware to get the other hardware to work like, Yeah, that's another thing.

  • My Windows 98 capture PC at the moment really needs some work.

  • The power supply went for one thing.

  • The disk drive stopped reading like half the disks, floppy drive and the CD drive.

  • I don't know what went on there.

  • I need to fix that motherboard.

  • I think it's just been walkie anyway, and I've always wanted to upgrade it a little bit, so that's probably gonna be a video as well.

  • So it's a Windows 98 repair rebuild video.

  • Whatever happens, I'm just waiting on more parts because there's some parts that I wanted that I don't have, and I thought I did so you know, little things like that.

  • They're always getting in the way, making these kind of videos because it's retro tech and software.

  • You never know what's going to go wrong.

  • and half the time most things go wrong.

  • So that's just that's just what the challenge is there.

  • But that's okay.

  • That's honestly why I enjoy this stuff so much because I find that not everyone has the time of the patients.

  • The resource is to make that stuff come together in a form that you know only like works but can be demonstrated and then hopefully communicated in a way that's interesting.

  • And I find that I have a particular set of skills and a way of putting that on video that seems to work.

  • So I want to continue to do that for as long as I can, but in order to do so, I guess I'm gonna have to take a break.

  • Another reason I want to take a break just to get my head back in the red spot is, uh it's stuff under were life crap happening that sort of piled up all at once.

  • And you know how that goes?

  • Probably.

  • But, you know, even when you're working for yourself like I am and you know it's just just one guy doing what I do here Yes, things pile up right, like, you know, I don't doctor's appointment as, like how great.

  • Now I've got to do some potential life changes there to get some health things in order.

  • And then a few days ago, somebody wrecked my car.

  • They rammed into the back of it.

  • It's not the worst damage in the world, but I still haven't heard back from that guy's insurance and all the ways that I need to wait to get that repair.

  • And so, like, dang it, I want to get my car fixed so I can go and take care of some things and and then they don't like my Windows 10 p c like adobe, all mites, adobe stuff.

  • Just stop freaking working something wrong with my scratch disk.

  • And I had to replace that like, Oh, I'll just I'll redo all Windows 10 because it needs to be cleaned out anyway.

  • And, you know, things things were happening.

  • So that's what I'm gonna do over my time off, other than you know, literally legitimately taking some time off.

  • I want to fix up some things and get everything in order so that I feel like I'm not going crazy in my head and come back and do Morrell gr So expect that in about a week.

  • And I have two weeks or whatever it is from now.

  • You have July 13th.

  • So it's like 10 days or some crap anyway.

  • Yeah, I guess.

  • I guess I'm gonna I'm gonna put it here because I'm just sort of 10 minutes.

  • Uh, yeah.

  • Anyway, I guess I'll just go and leave it there.

  • Thank you very much for watching this ramble of oven update that is not very well assembled.

  • But that's okay, I hope.

  • E.

  • Thanks for watching.

  • We'll see a pretty soon Yae vacation.

Greetings, Clint here and yes, we've just past nine years of LG are being, ah, thing, which is wild.
