  • hi, everyone by popular demand.

  • And by that I mean, I just wanted to do this with George.

  • We're gonna do a hair tutorial with George northward, Obviously very famous hairstylist at this point.

  • But I met George.

  • Um, I was 1925 age.

  • Anyway, I've not really let anyone do my hair ever since because I spent my entire childhood in Hampshire getting quite good, you haircuts.

  • And when I met, George was like, Oh, you don't have to cry every time you leave the Salome, So that was a revelation.

  • But today we're gonna do a classic hairstyle, or at least classic to me of messy, undone.

  • No, not much effort.

  • But secretly, it takes about 30 minutes waves, right?

  • Yes.

  • I think this is good because a lot of people want texture in the hair.

  • They want the wavy kind of feminine look, what was really popular about what you did is when you had the bob we were talking, it is that it created a real sort of moment because I think people were really ready for a bit of texture in their hair was it was ready.

  • People just want to have a change It's just great because it gives you femininity.

  • So you could wear is a bob wherever you do, and it just it just gives it something going on.

  • Could you?

  • It was about it was about straight hair for so long.

  • When I was growing up, you needed bolt straight hair.

  • And that's why I g h d s and like, straightening irons came into effect.

  • And it was like Giselle's long flowing locks that were completely I and flat.

  • Yes, well, the Rachel cut the Rachel carve and slightly curved in.

  • Yeah, as you have a concern.

  • Do you think that means that coming in hot because capri pants back, cycling shorts, mules, etcetera, etcetera All the hallmarks of the late nineties, early two thousands?

  • Does that mean we're about to get a wave of very flat hair?

  • I think straighter, but more natural.

  • No, I don't mean we're gonna go back to really straight here.

  • I think it's gonna be about a straighter texture.

  • And I'm going to talk today about how we can create that so it doesn't have to be really wavy.

  • Okay, Okay.

  • I have waves.

  • Please, let's do it.

  • So we're going to start on this side here.

  • We're gonna take her an inch in height, sort section, and we're gonna reveal my massive is George, but lovely years too late.

  • There was.

  • You know, we've got the tone heated up already, so we're gonna We're gonna tongue our first section now.

  • Always tongue, I think.

  • Away from the face, this is the key.

  • Okay, so we're gonna tongue, and we're gonna put the tongue on top of the head and we're gonna talk away from the backwards.

  • That's a good way to put it, actually.

  • So we're gonna like this, You know, that flappy bit on the tong.

  • Do you need to lift it up and put it down or not?

  • You don't have to.

  • What you could do is you can buy a lot of tongues that don't even have that.

  • They're more of a wand.

  • Yeah, so you could just do this.

  • Some people find that easier because there's less to sort Do.

  • I just bought a tong from you from your salary for the first time the first time, and I've been doing it on my own, Huh?

  • So, do you want some key points?

  • Yes.

  • Leave the route on the end out.

  • Really?

  • Yeah.

  • Why?

  • Because that's what gives you more of the wave.

  • The party coals are cold at the end.

  • God s o leave the end out.

  • So if you've got quite so curly hair or frizzy hair, you may want to smooth your hair out first with a blow dryer with blow dried out smooth.

  • But because your heads like we just rough dried there.

  • So if you drive, just gonna get so we're just going in on Dr.

  • But we haven't had to pre do anything to this.

  • So we've left the route in the end out.

  • I like moments.

  • Do we go back to one?

  • Well, yeah, actually, because I don't really want to get bo talk so soon as I'm really wrinkly.

  • It's fringe again, isn't it?

  • Does Alexa have a fringe vote?

  • Please.

  • Another tip on a really key one is when you tall I'm talking again away from the face backwards.

  • I'm using the flat.

  • I'm using this because I'm a hairdresser.

  • You don't have to.

  • Um, the other thing is pull it straight afterwards, because again, we're trying to avoid the party curls.

  • So the key for avoiding particles are leave the route on the end out and pull it straight.

  • So it where it causes where it sets, Okay, get more of a wave.

  • We want a wave.

  • No curl.

  • Okay, I'm gonna do one more.

  • Let you have go fun.

  • Okay, so So why don't I do one?

  • Not that front section.

  • I'm gonna leave for you, and I'm going to do another section here also with your hair.

  • You don't need to put the tone for very long because it takes very quickly and you has quite fine.

  • I like to call it delicate.

  • Your head's quite delicate.

  • Yeah.

  • So I'm gonna literally tong the hair like this, and then I just quickly pull it out and put it down.

  • It's not.

  • If you've got thicker course of hair, you might need to hold it for longer.

  • Okay.

  • So what I've been doing wrong then is at home.

  • I do it and I go, I go.

  • 123456789 10.

  • That is it.

  • Yeah.

  • You don't need that long.

  • Yeah.

  • Okay.

  • Because you don't want to burn the hair on Also, if you want thio, use protection.

  • Always use polite interaction If you are worried about the always play safe this killing kids always know if you're gonna talk every day.

  • If you're, like a serious if you're a tongue addict, Yeah.

  • Then you should use heat protection, the protection a spray, a spray.

  • But with yours, I'm so quick on the hair.

  • And also because you're has finally delicate.

  • We don't want to put too much product on the hair because it wait, it weighs it down.

  • So over TV may I don't understand.

  • See, I'm right.

  • Hat.

  • It's Yeah.

  • Yeah.

  • You're not gonna use the flap.

  • Not the root, Not the end.

  • Not the root, Not the end.

  • Not long.

  • Hold it down, Do you think?

  • Did you turn away from the face backwards then?

  • Or did you talk for words?

  • I don't know that.

  • I think.

  • Try again.

  • You think?

  • Yeah.

  • The same section.

  • Okay.

  • We'll survive it.

  • This one?

  • Yeah.

  • Yeah.

  • Look back.

  • Yes, you did, because you're doing on.

  • But when I did it, yeah, I put the tongue on top of the head.

  • Yeah, What did I do?

  • I think you put it on underneath.

  • You didn't.

  • You did it right, because I'm looking at a different angle, Okay?

  • And then, actually, if you're going to do it like that without their what's quite nice to do is if you wrap it in and kind of move it around a little bit and pull it down that way, you get okay.

  • Great.

  • Okay.

  • Lets move up.

  • So do I need to buy section clips?

  • Then?

  • Maybe that would be good.

  • That would be good.

  • But actually, what you could just do is talk on the top and just talk a lot to say to a lot of people tongue, the bits that you can see, You know?

  • I mean, I'm 1/2 and then you have a flat back.

  • No, like your tongue.

  • The underneath your underneath goes a bit curly.

  • Anyway, So if it were back there, Yeah, so I think start from the top yet, But you could if you want to do a proper job, you could buy some section clips and do it for sure.

  • How high?

  • Can't be bothered with all that.

  • Well, then don't your turn.

  • I see what you mean.

  • Yeah, I went like this.

  • Which is under?

  • Yeah.

  • What about like that?

  • I don't know.

  • You're gonna lose your job any time.

  • So you know you thankfully, can you not just put the tongue on top of the hair and tongue like now?

  • It seems easy to you is No, it's no.

  • I know it's not.

  • Get that.

  • I really do.

  • This is all I can do.

  • Okay, fine.

  • While you're still talking away from the head to do that, That looks nice.

  • Great.

  • Looks nice.

  • Yeah.

  • In fact, I do think when is interesting when your tongue in your own hair I think random sections back and forth actually worked quite well.

  • So don't get too hung up on backwards.

  • Exactly, because it's really hard to coordinate your arm.

  • I could use that hand that that's Yeah.

  • I was kind of going to say Sorry.

  • I wanna throw.

  • Yeah.

  • Okay, great.

  • So maybe it's about using the different hands on the different sides on Let go.

  • Look at that is pretty.

  • Yeah, but can you see where that's gonna little bit curly?

  • Yeah, I've left it.

  • Yeah, okay.

  • Sure.

  • I agree.

  • You just gonna so tongue away from the face.

  • Here's another thing, though.

  • I think the advantage I have is that we've got you cut these bits in, didn't you?

  • Yes.

  • And they were like, Yeah, they really frame the face.

  • Everyone always thinks you've got Bob anyway, don't they?

  • We have this conversation, but I don't see long hair.

  • I only have three haircuts this longer or short.

  • Well, this length is perfect for you.

  • Then this is a good base to start for the half up, half down.

  • This is a really good I always I think talking is a really good way.

  • Once you've got the tongue in, then that's a really good base for, like, any up do.

  • Whenever we do your up to use for events will, like, always start with the tongue and then we'll kind of put it into a pony or a bar.

  • Nora, you know, half up, half down.

  • It's a really good way to start on the tongue around the face, especially if you put it up.

  • It's really nice.

  • Was great.

  • Really nice.

  • Now the hardest you've ever tried, people always ask about getting to the back of the head again.

  • If you're doing it on yourself, don't worry about the underneath.

  • Just focus on the top and if you're going to do the side.

  • Pull it around to the front to do pull the back round to the front to do it like that.

  • We do something to resume through the rest of it and we can put it in fast forward.

  • Yeah, hit it, Mr.

  • Wait for face, holding it for a little bit of moving it around a little bit.

  • She's afraid the same way.

  • I kind of just really pretty, really nice.

  • Like we're surprised, but we haven't done this 1000.

  • Wow, that's really worked out.

  • Well, that's that's really good.

  • Yeah.

  • So, as you can see, we've worked around the whole head Key tips.

  • Leave the route in the end.

  • Out.

  • When you take it out, pull it straight.

  • Don't leave it in too long.

  • Only a cz long as to set the co.

  • Don't get too hung up on backwards and forwards just kind of do.

  • The technique is not sound like sex advice.

  • Well, it's sex.

  • Hair head is gonna get you sex.

  • I love it.

  • Thank you.

  • I love it, too.

  • And then should we just finished with a little bit of dry shampoo?

  • Yeah, I think that's a really good way.

  • Just use a bit dry shampoo to matter fire.

  • I knew straight shampoo a lot when it's clean.

  • So when we finish now, I'll put dry shampoo in at the room, even though it's clean to make it last a bit longer.

  • When I interviewed Karlo Gopher once, we spent like half a day together was observing him in the studio and then ask him some questions and write the end of the day I was leaving.

  • And one more thing and said, The only way Take this.

  • Handed me a dry shampoo, which is like a really passive, aggressive like, Quite mean.

  • I heard he was big on dry shampoo used.

  • Take this.

  • I use it in my wig.

  • And I was like, Okay, great.

  • Thanks.

  • Then I got outside like that.

  • So nice.

  • But then I thought, Oh, it's cookie.

  • Thought my hand.

  • Shit.

  • Okay.

  • Yeah.

  • Then you do that.

  • Sort of.

  • That's quite good.

  • I spend my whole day a little thing, but I think that's really good, cause that sort of freshens it up a bear.

  • Yeah.

  • Okay.

  • Thanks, George.

  • I think it's fab.

  • We'll see you next time on hair today.
