  • Hello, everyone, and welcome to another video.

  • Now.

  • A while ago, I found a deal on a court to extreme quad core CPU.

  • The Q x 96 50.

  • Only the video I made about it didn't really go to plan as always, experiencing a few issues, which turned out to be motherboard related.

  • A year has passed since then, and I still have the chip as well as a better board to use it with.

  • So I just wanted to take another look at it and see what it could do when paired with a new A graphics card launched in 2007.

  • 4 $999 or £650.

  • Here in the UK this suck it 775 process a code named York Field Waas.

  • An enthusiasts dream, though the cheaper Q 95 50 that made an appearance a few months later was a much more justifiable choice for us regular consumers or consumers who still had quite a bit to spend on a process of just not a silly amount.

  • These days it costs about the same size of brand new rising 3 1200 that price tag is more to do with what it is or what it waas rather than what it can do.

  • I'm not going for any records today.

  • I was just in the mood to mess around with this old beast at stock speeds.

  • She's still a snappy old girl, at least for general usage in navigating Windows 10 watching YouTube videos or scrolling through your Facebook news feed isn't going to give you any grief.

  • A sari.

  • Nice little increase in performance after over clocking it to just under 3.7 gigahertz.

  • With the stock Intel cooler, you may remember the cooler itself.

  • It's one of those old chunky ones that was bundled with old court cause many years ago.

  • I threw this one away at first, but after regretting that decision, I took it out off the bin and gave it a good cleanup, and I've kept it ever since.

  • Now, these chips can go higher with better calling, I'm sure, but in today's world of PC gaming, it's probably going to be struggling at any speed.

  • Or is it?

  • Well, I purchased this new a Seuss motherboard for this very occasion.

  • This P five Q.

  • The P 45 chipset board slapped in the corps to quite extreme and then prepare to jump into some games.

  • Now this bald I found on eBay, I think it's okay for the price.

  • I paid about £30 for it, and it should do us just fine today.

  • I have heard that the P 45 chipset come your pains over clock with, But I didn't really experience many issues today, though.

  • Maybe if I went toe go a little bit higher, I might have done a jumped into a few of my favorite games to see how well it did.

  • Let's get the games that didn't work out of the way.

  • First Assassin's Creed.

  • Odyssey raged two on red Dead redemption to all crashed before any actual gameplay took place.

  • So it was fourth time lucky with Battlefield five.

  • The game started up and ran just fine after taking a little while on the loading screen, but the frame rate was lacking, to say the least.

  • This is a process of intensive game, so, to be honest, I was expecting it, moving onto crisis three and older but still very good looking title and it ran okay with 44 F.

  • P s at the low settings.

  • It felt a little stuttering here and there.

  • But to be honest, it was a good enough experience.

  • It goes without saying that this isn't going to satisfy anyone's 60 f.

  • P s gaming needs in most Nutribullet titles, at least, but it will still hold up better than expected in a few games.

  • And that's all I could have asked for.

  • I chose this level because it tends to give a lot of my hardware could run for its money.

  • And there's a lot occurring on screen, various explosions, things like that.

  • And it's a good one to test in Crisis three.

  • Just like all games, the performance will vary depending on where you are.

  • But overall, Yeah, I'm pretty happy with how this Triple A title turned out when you consider just how demanding this was considered when it came out, and maybe even still, so today, it's nice to see it running on this aging chip in dirt really, too, though this wasn't the case because I was expecting it.

  • To do this well, don't really to really does run on almost anything.

  • 52 was the average with respectable percent old figures as well.

  • Amusing the GTX 16 60 t I from in video today because the radio on 5700 X t wouldn't work for me in this configuration.

  • But considering the CPU is the limiting factor throughout anyway, a better graphics card wouldn't really help us out much here, if a toll one part of this whole video that is surprising.

  • There is how I managed to yet through the dirt rally to test without smashing my car up on occurrence.

  • That's usually commonplace here on the channel, but maybe I was just having a good day.

  • Anyway, let's move on to the next title and continue our look at the core too extreme.

  • Now I am using an SSD today or the games are installed on there just to give us a better experience overall, moving on to Skyrim Special Edition now, and this is one that a few of you have been asking me to add to the games list.

  • So I thought I'd do that today.

  • It runs absolutely fine on the Q x 96 50 with 16 60 t I.

  • It's a few years old now, so it's no surprise, really But this really is the ultimate sky room experience, or the vanilla game with a few months installed could be seen as better.

  • And it will probably run better to on this hold way.

  • But no matter what version of Sky Room you pick, you should get a decent enough experience.

  • I apologize if you can hear any wind being picked up on the microphone.

  • That seems to be a hurricane outside today.

  • So, yeah, my patio furniture is halfway down next door's driveway, but we'll deal with that another time.

  • Running around the beautiful countryside in Kingdom Come deliverance will mean a plus 30 f p.

  • S average.

  • As you can see here, Medium settings at 10.

  • 80 p was fine for the most part, and the game still looks absolutely fantastic.

  • I've always thought this game looks like one of those photo realism Ahjussi for crisis back in the day.

  • If we venture within the city's walls, though, are stable, Frame rate soon plummets, and it all becomes a little too much for our extreme chip.

  • Sure, there will be instances where you see 30 f.

  • P s on average, but for the most part, you're going to hit around the low twenties.

  • I don't think it quite cuts it for this game.

  • But again, I was expecting as much.

  • I then tried mature Exodus, and this time around I started off with 10 80 p but switched to 14 40 p not long after, just to gauge what effect a bump up in resolution would have on things but the answer waas Not that much.

  • You will see at least 30 FBS in some areas with Metro Exodus, but most of the time, with this clock speed, at least you'll hit less than 30 on average.

  • This is with the medium or low settings.

  • It didn't really matter what I set the game to medium or low gave us.

  • The same result on the same could be said for 10 80 p or 14.

  • 40 p with this process, sir.

  • The reason I primarily focused on 10 80 p, though, is because it's still the most popular resolution, at least according to this steam hardware survey.

  • And I can't imagine many people who buy a four K monitor or 14 40 p monitor are considering purchasing a core two quart or extreme CPU unless, like me, you just want to experience a little bit of nostalgia for a heavily reduced price.

  • I mean, that's the reason I buy all of this old stuff to begin with.

  • And I've got a four came on.

  • It s Oh, there we go.

  • This is all just in good fun.

  • After all, Perhaps the most surprising result of the day comes from the outer worlds of fairly new title, which managed to exceed 30 frames per second in our test system, the 1% 1.1% figures left something to be desired, to say the least.

  • But I was able to run around Hegel to causing mischief without lagging too much, which is all we could ever ask for.

  • So finally I tested C S Cho, and this wasn't able to maintain a solid 60 f p.

  • S all of the time.

  • Those 60 watts, the overall average with 1% and 10.1% lows that were okay.

  • Now the footage you're seeing is from about match.

  • But the figures were taken from three online matters.

  • I simply show you footage from the body match.

  • Sometimes if I'm having a bad day online, it's just easier on the island watching me get wiped out every five seconds.

  • But maybe you'd like to see that.

  • I don't know.

  • Anyway, CS go runs okay on this trip at the lowest settings, I always run the game at the lowest settings and you should have an okay time here averaging about 64 f.

  • P s with the 16.

  • 60 t i as well.

  • This is, of course, a more CBU demanding game.

  • And that goes to show here.

  • These chips will always have a special place in my heart.

  • It goes to show that no matter how much money you spend on your computer, there will always be a time when your components become obsolete, even if that time is at least a decade later.

  • After all, this chip can still handle some games and some areas of other games just fine.

  • For example, the countryside in kingdom come deliverance and a few of the towns in the outer worlds which are still both pretty surprising to me.

  • It will be interesting to see how the best process available now will hold up in 13 years.

  • I mean, don't wait for that video or anything.

  • Who knows what the world of PC gaming or just the world will look like then.

  • But all I can say is that for now, I hope you enjoyed this video.

  • And I'll see you all in 2033 when I'll be reviewing the thread Ripper 39 90 hex.

  • Don't hold me to that.

  • Okay.

  • Anyway, thank you for watching.

  • If you enjoyed this video lever, like on it.

  • If you didn't enjoy this video, leave a dislike on it, subscribe to the channel if you haven't done so already.

  • And hopefully, as always, I'll see all of you in the next one where I'm not quite sure what we'll be doing yet, but we'll figure something out.

Hello, everyone, and welcome to another video.
