  • Um, so I don't know.

  • It's like it's weird because you just you don't know how many fights you have left like that's been a long two years.

  • Um, you know, I'm just trying to take every take it all in.

  • Not necessarily.

  • I knew, like, I never doubted myself.

  • Not for, you know, not in a little bit.

  • I knew.

  • I know the type of athlete I am.

  • I know the dedication in the work.

  • I've put in a dedicated my entire life training, and I moved to Phoenix six years ago.

  • In the last nine years of my life, I've dedicated for this moment for all that to happen.

  • And, you know, some people labeled me a cheater.

  • Said this and that.

  • But, you know, like defends true fans, the people close to me, they knew, you know, I was doing anything, but it was hard going through.

  • Some of that definitely made me a better person, definitely made me on, definitely opened my eyes to a lot of things.

  • I don't I don't I wish it didn't happen at all.

  • It's just I'm just If I feel good.

  • You know, I think my digits has gotten really good.

  • My wrestling's on really good in my all around game is evolved, and I didn't get it.

  • Really Show it too much tonight.

  • Um, I kind of scene that fight going like that.

  • I knew it was just a superior athlete in the Superior fighter.

  • Now I've done a respect for Jose, you know, supposed to fight him.

  • That's why I gave that fight back to him.

  • You get a little bit of Starlight when you find you get a little bit camera time.

  • And you know, I gave that back to my supposed to fight it, and I felt horrible.

  • When they pulled me off the card, he went through a full camp to fight me, too.

  • Then he got that taken away from him.

  • So, you know, respect, Jose, and I'm glad I got it.

  • Fight him.

  • I know.

  • Obviously he didn't want it to go like that, but it is what it is.

  • Yeah, I remember being before the Contender Series.

  • You know, they're asking me stuff.

  • I said, I don't know.

  • I have that thing that I know.

  • I have it.

  • I don't know what it is?

  • I don't know.

  • One can really put a finger on what it is.

  • Dana.

  • Know that habit you have seen?

  • I have it.

  • They stuck with me.

  • They could have very well could have cut me.

  • And, you know, it wasn't worth their time.

  • But they know.

  • I don't know if it's they believe, you know, that really believe in me as much as I believe in myself.

  • So it's very cool to be able to work with a company like that.

  • Um, and this is just the beginning.

  • I'm 25 years old.

  • Um, you know, I want I love fighting.

  • It's a dangerous sport, So getting out of their healthy is nice, but you're not always get out of there healthy.

  • So I'm just, uh you know, I'm gonna go through some wars in my career, and I know that, and I just I need to be thankful for these fights.

  • They you're not gonna get a first round quick finish every fight.

  • So I'm glad I'm healthy.

  • I didn't get nervous.

  • Not even a little bit.

  • Not even like that one time.

  • I just wasn't I truly felt It's weird to see if you're born for this because it just I don't know.

  • If you think about it, just kind of sounds weird, but, I mean, I feel like I was born for this.

  • I was born to be in the lights and and become a superstar.

  • And, you know, my fans have stuck with me for two years, so I think it's just all coming together.

  • Yeah, I would like to fight a couple more times this year.

  • I mean, if you're gonna be, I'm gonna come out of them.

  • That healthy would be nice to fight.

  • Maybe three more.

  • I really like fighting in Vegas.

  • I really enjoy.

  • It's a four hour drive, the P I, the all the works of the P I.

  • Everyone's just so helpful it.

  • So it's I like being able to drive here.

  • It's nice to have my own vehicle go to whole foods, go grab healthy food.

  • Not an anti affected.

  • That was super helpful to um, but I don't think there's a fight in Vegas till International Fight Week.

  • It could be wrong, but that's a little ways out.

  • But if we wait, we wait.

  • If not, we'll see.

  • We'll see.

  • What's up, bro.

  • It's great.

  • Watching you guys fight was really stressful.

  • It's like focus on your fight, banning folks on your faggy.

  • He's gonna take care of himself, but just yeah, we want it doesn't work like that, you know, men.

  • He stresses out for me.

  • I stress out for him.

  • It's just it is what it is.

  • And then to be able to finish the night like this.

  • So grateful, man, when Giga had his first round, clean round, and then he likes the fight emotional, and then he gets emotional, and then it became a mess, but he still wants.

  • So I'm happy, man.

  • Very happy.

  • I really thought it was gonna be a sub like the last, uh, have the last you've been finishes.

  • Yeah, like the last two.

  • And then, Ah, after that, um, I got back to after having his back for a whole round.

  • I got back and my legs are shaky.

  • I was like, All right, legs are a little shaky.

  • Shake him out.

  • Get out there.

  • And I just thought to myself they're gonna come back.

  • Meanwhile, let's see what my hands can do.

  • And then I got cracked.

  • And once I get cracked I forget that I'm supposed to be intelligent.

  • I'm supposed to find that my distance I'm supposed to be defensive and then offensive.

  • And I just kind of threw ah, through my hands.

  • And that's how it ended.

  • Uh, to be honest, I didn't think the fight was over until I saw his eyes rolled back as he fell.

  • And I had a new man.

  • That's it.

  • There's no need for more of this, you know?

  • So that was that was the first time for me.

  • I don't know if I've ever had that cause with the James Vic fight the referee like double leg me off of him like he shot on me and just ah took me off.

  • But because I couldn't, he wouldn't stop the man.

  • The man is like a freaking zombie.

  • But this time I saw the guy's eyes rolled back and I was like, It's done.

  • I don't know, man.

  • I'm gonna have to sit down and watch it.

  • Ah!

  • Ah, Nice choke.

  • Finishing the first round would have been very satisfied as well.

  • But happy with it, man, I'm very happy with it.

  • Doesn't matter.

  • It just I just feel like I'm not I don't really fit into the system.

  • You know, you gotta have this system where, like, you got to speak really well and you got to be able to throw out some zingers.

  • And if somebody says to you, you gotta respond.

  • I'm not really into that system.

  • You can say all you want to me.

  • I don't really need to say anything to you.

  • I get it.

  • You're trying to fit into the mold, but I'm just who I am.

  • I'm not looking Thio.

  • I'm not trying to put myself in a position, so I have to act like someone I'm not.

  • I just want to be me and the guy I am just doesn't talk smack or and so I don't know if this is gonna put me in a position that I want to be in, but God willing, I will be with losses I had.

  • I was actually with the injuries to I was really you know, loss is not not really, but with the injuries, I did contemplate retirement because the way my neck was, it was really affecting the way I I fight.

  • I didn't really have much I could do.

  • I couldn't train while.

  • So I did contemplate retirement and to be here.

  • Now it's crazy.

  • Crazy four fight win streak.

  • 33 finishes.

  • I don't know, man.

  • I think God, every day for this I feel like it was definitely exciting.

  • Um, if I'm gonna be holding that build, I got up my game a lot and shore up a lot of issues, but, hey, that's part of it.

  • And I'm here ready to do it.

  • Once we started the fight, it was pretty normal.

  • Um, you know, as much animosity as we have before, Once we started touching each other, I think we had that mutual respect.

  • There was no, like hate in her eyes, but, you know, definitely enjoyed punching each other in the face.

  • You know, his his stand up on his hands were a little cleaner that I thought they would be from being honest, hate has have to throw big, looping strikes and jumps in, and I know that, but he did it in a way that it kind of hit it a little bit better than I was expecting.

  • And angles were something that were used to.

  • So, you know, I had to make an adjustment Yeah.

  • I mean, man, I was touching that guy's chain all night, and it took me to the third round to finally get him with something solid.

  • And I just didn't think a t Kale Bhai head strikes was gonna be there, you know, Shorter compact.

  • Next.

  • It's hard to get the head to draw around tow, make a concussion.

  • So I was like, Well, if I got him rocked, I can throw into the ground.

  • I could choke anybody in the world.

  • So let's go with that.

  • Oh, definitely.

  • And, you know, we were gonna work, Maura.

  • Body kicks and kicks in.

  • General's got really hard kicks.

  • Butt first body keep guy through.

  • I happen to catch his elbow on my ankle, and it was just kind of swollen and hard to use the whole time trying to switch it up and go with the hands.

  • Man was a really tough fight, man.

  • First round, I thought I was gonna finish it.

  • I think I did little bit extra energy.

  • I give a second round.

  • I know.

  • I had it.

  • Even he gotta take down.

  • Then I reversed it and a little bit of damage, so I knew I had this to round and, uh, surged around.

  • I'm pretty like I thought he had it.

  • I knew he had it.

  • So that's why I was, like, kind of thinking that how was judges was what they're gonna say because that dude fought the good fight too, you know, his debut fight.

  • He wanted to show UFC that he's ready and everything, but I knew that I had the second to first around.

  • So I'm happy for my performance to I had this feeling cause my debut, I celebrated in locker room and changing room.

  • I couldn't celebrate there, so it was amazing feeling.

  • And I'm very thankful to Joe Rogan as well.

  • He made me talk a little bit.

  • Give me some time for the interview is Well, this was fun because I want to progress my wrestling and Judy to every time, which I'm working very hard and he's coming up.

  • You guys saw how many takedown I stopped today.

  • Even I reversed their guy, um, in the jujitsu.

  • So yeah, next time you guys going to Seymour Entertaining show a cz.

  • Well, in the 1st 1st round, emotions took me there and I really wanted to finish the guy, but it is ordered.

  • These?

  • Yeah, First of all, I tried to I try to, uh, hold my condition.

  • So I didn't want it to get Al Qadi happened.

  • Even the last fight with Brendan.

  • So I knew that I didn't want it to.

  • Same happen to and unfortunately happened my third round.

  • I knew that I was there, but I was thinking to kind of slow down more pays, too, to see that I'm able to fight all through around.

  • Well, So it was my adjustments to To me, this was I'm still testing myself against the guys who has some good wrestling base, and I'm happy where I am right now.

  • I saw that I stop to most of the take down as well, and even my jujitsu will look not bad at all.

  • And, uh, I know I have a lot to come, but I'm ready for anybody to fight.

  • And I'm really happy to perform on this big stage.

  • And Yemen.

  • I'm excited for the next 100 yeah.

  • I didn't miss any time off.

  • I mean, the division's been shaken up quite a bit since I've been gone, but I showed tonight affect and jump back in there with the best of any of them.

  • So jump back in against a guy like Mike.

  • Yes, will be great.

  • Absolutely.

  • Mean.

  • The motivation from this fight was I couldn't tell myself.

  • Crystal, my son.

  • Hey, son, go out there and try and try to get into divers and try to get you what?

  • You need to go out and get the job done.

  • If I didn't get the job done, I gotta wait on Sunday morning.

  • But my mind said My goal coming here tonight was to get the job done.

  • It wasn't just to try.

  • Oh, man, it feels great now.

  • I mean, over the last Ah, few months, over a year now I find myself in a really down place.

  • So all that stuff behind me now and come out on top tonight feels great.

  • And in a weird way, this time off has been a blessing in disguise.

  • I mean, allowed me already spent some time, hold my family, even grow my family back at home.

  • But I'm looking my coaching situation.

  • Evaluate some of things that I could do better.

  • We could do better as a coaching staff and really make some changes throughout my camp and I would even show tonight.

  • I mean, I came in here a completely different fighter, and I was 16 months ago, and this is only beginning for what's gonna happen next.

  • I'm so the biggest thing.

  • One of the things you looked at over this downtime was we just went back to look at my last five fights.

  • We looked losses with the winds, and we've already focused on where we can improve.

  • One of the biggest things that we were improved on was put positioning.

  • Andi, I feel like I addressed that pretty well tonight.

  • In the other part, we're just applying that Ford pressure.

  • If I myself really like relaxing windbag trying to fight plays out my coast, and I know I can push the pace and I could be in a guy space the entire time, be aggressive.

  • So we made out of points.

  • Come on, do that Tonight.

  • A man has this been great, mean the focus and they put in my training over last month's has been great.

  • I mean, I have coached every paying attention, every single detail now, and I feel like that's key.

  • No, Matty's bag may be better than ever.

Yeah, these moments, you know, there's only you only get so many.
