Good morning, everyone on Dhe.

Welcome back to the block.

It's Monday on Dhe.

It's weird because I wasn't like jumping out of bed this morning, But I have had a productive day in the end, but, like, not work.

Why?

Essentially, I mean, I'm ahead on video, So this is tonight's video, just ready to go up anyway.

But we had, like, a little bit of, like, a move around, basically and yeah, I don't know.

It's weird, it's weird, but I'm actually another thing.

That's weird.

I'm actually filming like to log today, which is even weirder because it seems strange doing that.

But basically this block is obviously gonna be over the whole kind of week, maybe even two weeks, because we are starting our kitchen renovation today.

I thought we were starting it tomorrow, but we will be the plumbers.

We got the call from marble and Granite guy that our new center island work top should be ready to go today.

So they're gonna come take the old one off.

We're going to keep it on Dhe.

They're gonna look after it for us, but we're probably gonna, like, reuse it elsewhere in the house, maybe in the gym or something like that.

Seems silly to just waste a really good piece of granite.

And we're having our new Caesar stonework top fitted to the center island because we didn't feel like we need to do throughout the whole kitchen because it seemed a little bit too busy.

So we've kept the outer units quite kind of simple on dhe, the same as they were quite understated on then.

We've gone for a really beautiful like sees its own center island, which will look really nice when it's painted dark on dhe decorating starts tomorrow, so I'll pop a link to where we get all of our kind of granite and marble work surfaces from They've done the whole house are linked that in the description box down below.

So if you want to, like, check those guys out, but they're great.

The guy that owns it is really nice and just really easy to work with and so helpful.

So fingers crossed that starts today on.

Then we've got Ken and Graham back tomorrow.

Thio start painting on Dhe, decorating the kitchen.

But there's actually been a lot of progress in there.

So I will show you that as well in this video.

But first, we're gonna show you something that we've been working on down here.

I'm currently my office, by the way.

So if you remember what I was saying in my last vlog about loony Oh, hello.

It's nice they neither of them, have ever got in this bed.

I spent a fortune on this bed.

Look at her, squeaked in, might recognize these tables from our living room.

But she's got similar.

Not the same that similar coffee tables to these Onda.

We didn't have a coffee table down here cause I stole it.

And I actually really, really like these with this sofa.

So we've cleaned them up, giving them a new lease of life and brought it down here.

Obviously they need to be dressed.

But as I was doing this gloomy came and made ourselves a home.

So we've left this room open, which is something that we don't usually do.

This is obviously not related to our kitchen renovation whatsoever.

But I just thought I'd tell you about it because we're getting ready to kind of clear the living room because that's the room that we're doing next after the kitchen.

So, yeah, it's a bit of a dumping ground in there.

At the moment on, we just kind of making use of the furniture elsewhere in the house.

And this just works perfectly.

So when we get some, like artwork on the walls here, and this is all painted a CZ well on, maybe some new lights, I'm not sure yet might keep these ones.

I'm not totally sure, obviously, will re decorate that later.

That's another like next year.

We can't afford to do her just yet, So yeah, basically, we're starting on the kitchen today, which is super exciting because probably spend most of our time in there.

So it's gonna be weird not having it kind of apt our use for a week and a bit.

Basically, I'm especially seeing as we've got like family coming next weekend.

But it's gonna be good to get it finally done, which is really exciting.

So you've probably seen this room a lot on my vlogs.

But we've had a few changes over the last week that haven't really explained to you.

So I thought I'd probably be a good idea to bring you up to speed on where we are with this room on what's happening on Dhe.

Yeah, just explain why everything's all of a sudden seeming like it's like for all systems are go basically So I haven't looked for good new weeks.

I think, like, properly blogged about what I've been doing and stuff on dhe.

We went out.

I don't if you know this, but basically my brother has been building his own house on Dhe.

They're just about ready to move into it, that I think they've been pretty much moving in this weekend on.

We saw it at the beginning, when it wasn't like water tight or anything.

It was just kind of like the bricks and the roof wasn't even on and stuff like that.

And then we've gone back a good few months later.

It must be like six months later, and their embassy ready to move in after more than a year, building it and because it's a new house and this is a new house.

And the thing that I struggle a lot with with, like things on Pinterest and stuff is there always in a lot of this sort of really beautiful rooms are in, like period properties on.

There's not a lot of sort of inspo when it comes to a new house, so I kind of just thought that you just have to live with.

I don't know why I thought this way, but I thought you kind of just had to have it this way, and you couldn't add character and add these kind of like details in to the home.

But when I went to my brother's house, I don't think I've ever been so inspired.

It was ridiculous.

They put all of this gorgeous cove ing in their house, like in their basement.

They painted it railings, which is one of the colors that we're using in the kitchen.

On Dhe, the whole basement is in railings on dhe.

It's super like dramatic but cozy on.

They is super huge, like decorative cove ing in that room and then they've gone for a really beautiful lights on DDE in the kitchen.

It will had cove ing and it made me realize that we can add a lot of this stuff in.

It also made me realize I made me actually quite angry.

I had better go, Ali.

But I realize that we've been cutting corners with House on dhe.

We see this as our forever home.

Hopefully the hallway.

Obviously, I've never really liked that tiled wall, but everyone talked me into keeping it.

It was a big job, apparently on.

So I didn't get rid of it when I had the chance on DDE that's now changed on DDE in this room, particular in particular.

I really didn't like the spotlights in here.

I found that because this seeming is quite low here.

Obviously, we've got the double height ceiling there, but this seeming is quite low.

Rome spotlights that had two spotlights in them.

First of all, we did not need that much lighting in this room.

I think that how many we got?

No, but like eight year eight spotlights now we had 123456789 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 1920.

We had 20 spotlights.

Andi, these lights on dhe lights around there and lights in the cabinet.

It's just ridiculous that we just didn't need that many.

Andi.

So we kindly Well, Allie kindly took them out of plastic him over, ready for Ken to come tomorrow and start painting.

So this is what the ceiling currently looks like.

I got my ceiling.

Rose is finally as well.

I wanted to put ceiling raises in in the dining room, but we cut corner in there and we didn't move something which we probably should have moved, so I couldn't have won.

But when I saw that my brother had ceiling Rose is above his center island, it just completely changed my mind.

And I got them in here, and I'm so, so happy with them, even though they're not, like, blended in or anything.

Yet they've been painted, but we've swapped out for much more understated spotlights in the ceiling on Dhe, even just with all of these, like patchwork bits, it feels so much like less busy on this scene, because if you think about it, we've got speakers.

We've got our air purification system, We've got these and it was just a bit much so that's what's kind of changed in here.

We've also spent a bit of time repairing anywhere that the House was settling because obviously it's a new house and it's over quite a sort of large area of land that when it's settling, there's like cracks and stuff like that.

So he's going around on Dhe filled.

All of those also got rid of the TV point by the fridge, But yeah, it looks a little bit of a mess in here at the moment, but it's all in prep for painting, which is very, very exciting.

So this is the piece of granite that's gonna be coming off on.

We've got a new one going on.

It's just a little bit more statement, because this really is gonna be a lot of like the focal point of the room.

This is gonna be painted in Farah bull railings.

There's another person's instagram account that really did inspire inspire like my Kitchen, because this floor I didn't really know what Stevie Nicks I do really like this for It's like marble tiled floor but it's almost like a creamy gray beige kind of color, and I wasn't sure what to do with it on Dhe.

Then I saw that her instagram account is called Just a Little Build.

Andi.

I'll link her down below, where I'm linking all of the other accounts that I've mentioned in this video.

She's basically got the same floor as us.

Andi She had the colors that we wanted in her kitchen as well.

And so it was just a no brainer for us that we'd seen it.

We loved it.

So you went with it.

So we're going with railings on the center island to be a little bit more dramatic, not make it feel too sparse in here.

And then we get reading gang rid of the cream part, so excited to get rid of the cream on dhe.

We are putting Farrah Mobile Pavilion gray on the cabinets, so Ken's got his work cut out doing that, but we're very excited about it.

Happen on the ceiling and the walls.

It's gonna be all nice and white on.

Just brighten up in here or not Maur.

Everything's gonna be filled.

We've obviously got rid of the What's that, What they call the blinds they've gone, and we'll kind of play it by ear whether we have anything put back there because we've never used the curtains or blinds in here.

So, yeah, that's kind of the plan for in here.

So today, hopefully Christian's gonna come and fit the new work top.

We also need to get all of the furniture out of this room because it makes Ken's life a lot easier.

It's gonna be so weird seeing this room like empty because it's like my favorite room.

I come and sit in here every morning, so it's gonna make me a little bit sad.

Ali was like, We need to move everything else like No, I don't want to, but also really looking forward to just getting started on this room, which is very, very exciting.

We're going to be storing everything in this room.

We just had a little bit of a move around it, not move around.

We're just sort of moving stuff, but this is like the where all of the furniture is.

That's kind of left over, because obviously this is the next room to get started.

But we're gonna move everything from the kitchen into here on.

Then Once that's done, we can hopefully start moving stuff out of here and we can start decorating in here is Well, it's all systems are go against.

This is phase phase, kind of one and 1/2 I would say, because we've only got Ken and Graham here for, like, two and a bit weeks, so we're not gonna get nearly as much done as last time.

So yeah, I think this is like phase two and a one and 1/2 but hopefully things are gonna start moving again because I feel I felt like, really frustrated with the whole thing.

I just I felt like we haven't been doing anything.

And I really wanted to start doing things.

And so I found it quite like to know a little bit of our next job is to clear the kitchen.

Basically, way currently, uh, the, uh, new coffee table is all that's left on the new rug.

This is what our living room looks like.

Really happy about this.

Yeah, really Happy way.

Still.

That sofa to come in as well.

On dhe, the granite on dhe stone people have just called us to let us know that they're gonna be about 20 minutes.

So it's gonna be all systems go in here Getting that works up off and put in the new one on the way said Just one look and I got because there's something about you I do think about you, your eyes just to touch It's all a dream I can't live without you So the new work top is in.

Look at this.

Well, I love it so much when this is dark.

I always think when I stand here and I see that this is dark obviously this is like it just shows how amazing this is going to look.

I absolutely I love it.

We went a little bit more statement on the center island, but it matches like perfectly with the existing Caesar's son because this is about Caesar.

So we didn't even realize.

But they are.

So they still look really, really good together.
