  • The attention to detail at the Disney theme parks is what makes Disney stand out from the rest.

  • So many of these details in their rides and attractions are easy to overlook and completely miss if you aren't looking out for them now.

  • Over the years, Magic Kingdom has seen attractions come and go, and although these attractions are now extinct, their legacy still lives on at the park.

  • We're going to take a look into the history of a few of these extinct attractions at Magic Kingdom and explore some hidden secrets and Easter eggs at the park.

  • In one way or another.

  • Every hidden secret was either influenced by or has a direct connection in some way with these extinct attractions.

  • So today we're gonna be counting down the top five hidden secrets of extinct attractions at Magic Kingdom number five.

  • The deed, the many adventures of Winnie the Pooh, located in Fantasy Land, wasn't the original ride in that show building.

  • This used to be the home of Mr Toad's Wild Ride, which was an opening day attraction in 1971.

  • It was a classic Disney dark ride, and unlike the ride at Disneyland in California, this version at Magic Kingdom had to separate and unique tracks.

  • Although it was a fan favorite, Disney closed Mr Toad's Wild Ride in September of 1998.

  • Despite the backlash from the Disney community, the popularity of The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr Toad movie had sizzled out, and around this time the Winnie the Pooh franchise was becoming more and more popular.

  • So the many adventures of Winnie the Pooh opened in June of 1999.

  • But Mr Toad wasn't completely evicted once his ride closed down.

  • After you passed the blustery day show scene, you're gonna want to keep your eyes peeled and pay special attention to the pictures and owls room.

  • There's a lot happening here that's gonna catch your eye, but as soon as you enter through the doors, quickly look to the left, and the first picture you'll see is Mr toad handing the deed of the property over to owl.

  • And that's not the on Lee Mr Toad reference in the ride on the right hand side, you'll also find a picture of moly with Winnie the Pooh that could be found on the floor next to the chair.

  • It said that this image depicts moly moving out, making way for Winnie the Pooh so the presence of Mr Toad still lives on.

  • But this isn't the only place you can find him at Magic Kingdom Number four.

  • The Pet Cemetery, The Haunted Mansion is one of the iconic attractions at Walt Disney World, which made its debut on opening day in 1971.

  • The attraction delights guests with its woody dark humor, and it all starts way before you even enter the physical attraction.

  • The queue is fully decorated to set the scene, including the cemetery where Madame Leota was laid to rest.

  • For starters, she's always watching you, so keep your eyes peeled, but also take a second to read the tombstones.

  • Each is engraved with a witty rhyme like this one.

  • Dear sweet Liotta, beloved by all in regions beyond now, but having a ball well this here isn't the only cemetery on site.

  • As you exit the attraction.

  • It's easy to rush out to catch that next fast pass.

  • But if you're guilty of this, you're probably missing out on another little secret.

  • On the left hand side, there's a pet cemetery.

  • And like the team stones for the humans, the animals were also given woody rhymes.

  • So remember how he said that the Winnie the Pooh ride isn't the only place to find Mr Toad?

  • Well, he can also be found right here.

  • Mister Toad was placed in the pet cemetery in 2006 eight years after Mr Toad's wild Ride closed down.

  • He used to reside on the upper left hand side, but as of recently he was moved to the center.

  • The pet cemetery suffered some damage in 2017 during Hurricane Irma, and it knocked down some trees.

  • So doesn't he took that opportunity to kind of re work the area.

  • Now there's a myth among cast members that Mr Toad's Tombstone says, Here lies Toad.

  • It's sad but true, not nearly as marketable as Winnie the Pooh.

  • When you zoom right in, you can see that there's nothing on the actual stone.

  • Maybe it's on the back, but the front has nothing either way.

  • If this was true, this text would fit right in with the others.

  • So next time you're exiting the haunted mansion, don't forget to say hi to Mr Toad who resides in this brand new humble abode.

  • Number three.

  • Pascal's Friends.

  • Another one of the opening day attractions at Magic Kingdom was the Skyway, This gondola lift ride Tookie between two stations and fantasy land and tomorrow land.

  • It provided you with some great views of the attractions down below, like 20,000 leagues under the Sea.

  • But hold on because there is more about that attraction coming up next.

  • Well, on November 10th 1999 Disney closed the Skyway for good, and the stations remained abandoned while the park decided what they wanted to do with those areas.

  • The fantasy land station was located right beside It's a Small World, and in mid 2011 12 years after the ride closed down, the station was finally torn down, making this old abandoned attraction completely extinct.

  • And this is where it becomes associated with the next hidden secret.

  • In addition to the construction of new fantasy land.

  • Disney took this opportunity to turn the Skyway Station into the tangled restrooms, which finally opened in March of 2013.

  • Sober puzzle.

  • Well, she's got a dream and an e ticket restroom, complete with many details from the film, including Rapunzel's Tower.

  • This is one of the most heavily themed restroom areas you've ever seen anywhere.

  • You didn't spend quite a bit of time just walking around this area, looking at each individual detail, like the hoof prints in the pavement that belongs to Maximus and what's tangled without the glowing lanterns.

  • Well, at night, the lanterns light up this whole section, and it's also a great spot to watch the fireworks.

  • Now, among the other details hidden in this area, you're gonna want to find this sign in the courtyard, which reads, Look for Friends of Pascal in the scenery hidden among all the flowers and greenery.

  • Pascal is Rapunzel's pet chameleon, and when the area first opened, there was approximately 10 of his friends hidden in the area, not including this guy as a recently, some may have been removed, so we'll show you a couple of them here, but we're not going to give them all away.

  • What will say is not all the flowers and greenery are on the ground, so you might want to take a look up to find some more of his friends.

  • Now, if you're already familiar with the sit in secret, how many of Pascal's friends were you able to find?

  • Leave a comment down below Number two.

  • The Trite Nautilus, another opening day attraction that's now extinct at Magic Kingdom, is 20,000 leagues under the Sea submarine voyage.

  • At one time, you are able to board the Nautilus submarine and embark on an underwater journey is quite safe from such marine predators.

  • This attraction occupied a big piece of fantasy land real estate.

  • It pretty much covered the entire area where new fantasy land is today.

  • But on September 5th, 1994 the attraction closed suddenly for what many people thought was just a last minute refurbishment.

  • Well, as the months went by, it became more and more evident that the attraction would remain closed for good.

  • The rumor is that it costs a lot to maintain and run the ride, and it also had a really low guest capacity.

  • So the lagoon just sat as is until 1995 when Disney turned the left side of the attraction into aerials grotto.

  • A King Triton found, was placed in the lagoon.

  • And this abandoned attraction sort of became a repurposed experience where you are able to meet Ariel well today, a new fantasy land right across the way from under the sea journey of the Little Mermaid, there's a statue of King Triton.

  • It appears it's a little tribute to that water found statue that used to be in the lagoon, seeing that his pose is almost identical.

  • But it's definitely not the same statue.

  • Now if you take a look at the blueprints sketch behind King Triton, his left arm is away from his torso, and this appears to be the exact same pose from the fountain, adding another connection to that extinct attraction.

  • So in regards to the lagoon, it remained abandoned and unused until it was drained in 2004 and the entire attraction was finally demolished.

  • That's with the exception of aerials grotto, which remained until 2010.

  • Now, as we said earlier, the entire new Fantasy land area uses the plot of land from the submarine voyage under the Sea Journey of the Little Mermaid sits on the area that used to be the submarine voyage Shou building while in The Little Mermaid.

  • Q.

  • There's a hidden tribute to the now extinct attraction.

  • The Nautilus submarine had a very specific look, and the outline of the sub can be found right in the queues.

  • Rock work.

  • If you stand directly in front of this netting before you enter the indoor part of the Q, you'll be able to see the Nautilus submarine.

  • Do you see it?

  • How, though now And there it is.

  • This is one of those hidden secrets that's really easy to just walk past.

  • If he didn't know was there, that's exactly what I did until Mark from Yester World pointed out the sub.

  • While we're exploring the park, you can check out yester World's Channel in the card in the right hand side.

  • But this here isn't the only tribute to the submarine voyage at Magic Kingdom number one, Mr Sanders.

  • At the entrance of the many adventures of Winnie the Pooh sits Mr Sanders Tree House and inside the Tree hosts you'll find another hidden night to the Nautilus submarine.

  • Once you're inside, you're gonna wanna look above the frame of the larger door, and there you'll find the Nautilus engraved into the wood.

  • Now, you might be saying, Why is the Nautilus engraved into the tree house?

  • If the area from the Winnie the Pooh Reid was never part of 20,000 leagues under the sea?

  • Well, in 2004 when the submarine voyage was demolished, Disney opened Poos Playful spot in 2005 directly across from the Winnie the Pooh ride, the new playground and meet and greet area was on part of the land from the Old Lagoon at the center of Proust.

  • Playful spot set Mr Sanders Tree House.

  • And this is the exact same tree house that's currently at the entrance of the right.

  • When Poos playful spot closed in 2010 to make way for New Fantasy land, doesn't he use the crane to transport the 120 ton tree 150 feet across the way to the ride's entrance?

  • Saving the tree helped connect the Winnie the Pooh ride with the enchanted forest of new fantasy land, and along with this connection, the Nautilus also survived the move.

  • So 20,000 leagues under the sea, maybe gun, but that ride will never be forgotten.

  • You just need to know where to look to find it.

  • So have you ever noticed any of these little hidden secrets at Magic Kingdom?

  • And if you could bring back one of these extinct rides either the Skyway, Mr Toad's Wild Ride or 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, which will do bring back and why leave a comment down below to start a conversation.
