  • hi guys today.

  • I want to talk about how to look taller and slimmer through three different office that I think are really appropriate for spring and summer time.

  • A lot of different types of clothing that I wear, like dresses and fabrics like silk that I love to wear this time of year.

  • And also I wanted to do these outfits.

  • It particularly in mind of what I would wear to feel at my very best for me.

  • I think that I struggle personally, being five foot one tohave closed, that if I buy them online or in the story doesn't matter.

  • They always arrive at my door a little bit too long for me.

  • I'm five foot one, and so I am always hemming something at least a couple inches.

  • So today I want to kind of build out these outfits to look taller and slimmer, something that can be especially challenging as a petite person.

  • And so I like to use thes optical illusions and kind of techniques to build out outfits that really work for my own body style.

  • So let's get started right out of the box.

  • This Alfred, it doesn't look like much.

  • It's just a tea like a V neck and then some trousers that look to be kind of frumpy and too long on me.

  • So I wanna tweak this to really make it work.

  • I chose a V neck because of the neck is going to show a little bit more skin here.

  • Any time you can work with a new inverted triangle, it's going to emphasize that I've got more of a longer torso here.

  • I naturally have a longer torso and shorter legs, but I'm going to be emphasizing a little bit of my torso to just to kind of balance out all the work that I'm doing on my bottom half right away.

  • I'm going to talk in my top and you can see that these pants are high waisted.

  • I think they're around like a 13 or 14 inch rise, which it's sky high.

  • If you feel like you personally have longer legs in a shorter torso, you can still kind of look taller with a high rise pant.

  • But I would suggest going with a mid rise and that will do something really similar and benefit you in a similar way.

  • But for me, ah, high rise.

  • Pant really works, and what's great about this, too, is that it's striped is vertical stripe, and that has been one of the oldest tested ways to look taller.

  • So not only do these pants have a vertical stripe, but they're also synching right at the waist.

  • So that's gonna be a really big win for me, because that's my natural slimmest point.

  • And then also, I want to add some heels to this outfit that are going thio.

  • Do a few things here, so one, it's the same color tone as the pants, and that's going to add this beautiful long line.

  • But the height of the hell, obviously height of hell like heels air going to heighten me anyways.

  • But also the fact that they are the exact height that I need to for thes trousers is really important.

  • I got these trousers hemmed to be just the link that I need them to be.

  • Any time they could go to the tailor and get close to fit.

  • You just right is a win in my book.

  • So what I want to do with the height of these pants, why want to aim for is hand them to the point where they're not dragging the ground.

  • But what I really don't want to happen is if they were to buckle at all.

  • You know, before even put the heels on, you can kind of see those pants buckle at the bottom, and that's not what I want.

  • I want them to be this solid line.

  • I don't want them to look like bell bottoms from Scooby Doo like.

  • I want them to look long and lean as if I were wearing stilts underneath and you didn't know.

  • That's what I'm going for.

  • Next, I'm adding my gold jewelry.

  • It just adds so much class and elegance to any outfit.

  • It's going to make any outfit look like you spent more money on it.

  • And also there's another trick there.

  • It's using that inverted triangle to lengthen my torso here so that's intentional.

  • And wearing more longer necklaces will do that as well.

  • For my purse, I'm using something very small and in the same color range with the rest of my outfit, so it's nothing that is taking over our emphasizing too much of the purse because if I do that, then it could make myself look much smaller than I naturally am, and I'll go into that a little bit later for this outfit.

  • I decided to pull my hair back.

  • I think that it's fine to just have your here out in front like I have it right now, especially because I've got shorter here right now, and that works already to kind of lengthen your body.

  • If you're looking for a haircut that makes you look taller than having shorter hair works in that regard.

  • But pulling my hair back is going to expose more of my neck.

  • It's gonna expose more skin, which always helps.

  • And then it's going to keep that one line of color kind of continuing up so that that color range works with my skin tone.

  • And I want to use that to my advantage so altogether.

  • This outfit is doing a lot of different things, right, So I've got the inverted triangle up top on my torso, with my necklaces and with the V neck, and even with the bra underneath, a little bit kind of elevates that that line that I want to create.

  • I'm showing more skin because it's a T.

  • I am accentuating my slimmest point, which is right here at my waist.

  • I'm synching it.

  • I've got vertical stripes.

  • I've got pants that go almost to the ground of the shoes and the purse.

  • Don't compete with that long line, and I've got my hair pulled back.

  • So all of those things kind of work together in this outfit, and I want to go ahead and move on to the next one so right away, when you see this next outfit, there's a lot going for it.

  • So it's monochrome.

  • That's a given, and then also it's showing skin because I've got a tank on.

  • It's gonna show my arms.

  • The pan's heir cropped up a little bit, so that's going to expose more skin there.

  • That's another great length to for pants.

  • If you're not going to have them go all the way to the ground or almost to the ground, that is really good.

  • To crop them up and show more leg more ankle, and that will accentuate more of the skin.

  • It will make you look like Oh, my pants are just, you know, too short for these long legs that I have, and to make up for how that long black line of this monochrome outfit is kind of broken up by having cropped pants.

  • I'm gonna wear a turtleneck with it.

  • That turtleneck extends that long black line and sense body suits.

  • This is a body suit, by the way, are naturally tucked in.

  • Then I can just keep moving and go straight into adding my jewelry and the jewelry with this outfit, I have to say, Oh my gosh, it's the first thing that you notice about The outfit is the jewelry.

  • It's so bright against the black color of the whole outfit, and it just does amazing things for creating that long line, and I really like the look of that.

  • So with this outfit again, I just want to pull my hair back.

  • That's gonna expose more of what this shirt is really doing.

  • It's a turtleneck, and I want to show that off.

  • So works really well for trying to expand that long line of color for shoes.

  • I want to try a few different things and just show you guys the difference.

  • The number one thing that I would reach into my closet for for shoes with an all black outfit is like Oh, naturally, I'll just wear black heels with it, and I like the look of that.

  • It's a good look and for some types of events that might really work.

  • But I want to kind of explain why I wouldn't do that and then show some other options.

  • For one thing, it's going to break up that beautiful line of color.

  • So now I've got that beautiful line.

  • But then it stops, go straight to my skin tone and then batch the black, and it's just kind of not working to kind of jump around in that way, it's not continuing the line at all.

  • Instead, I want to switch to a nude shoe, and if you followed along with this channel for long, you'll see in these shoes before I wear him with almost everything.

  • But I like the look of having something that's matches my skin tone, and in this case to their strappy.

  • They're showing a lot of my foot, which just continues.

  • Ever since my pants stopped, you can see how it continues with my leg in my foot and the whole thing just flows, and so that shoe is really extenuating.

  • That and I think it's a beautiful, and then finally, for my purse choice, I'm going with something that matches the outfit effortlessly at the black person that has got the gold elements that I'm wearing with my jewelry.

  • So that is really repeating all of those elements.

  • But then what you don't see is that this strap is actually much longer on me than it normally comes.

  • So I have kind of nodded that inside the bag, and now it's adjusted to where it falls on me like it would anyone else so altogether.

  • When you compare the before and after, I'm happy with the way that this outfit came together.

  • There's a lot going on here with the repetition of the purse and the outfit that the Alfa is monochrome.

  • Even though I've cropped up that length, it's continued with having the turtleneck longer and then exposing that turtleneck by pulling my hair back.

  • Those are all wins for trying to look taller for this final outfit.

  • I want to use elements that I love to wear this time of year, so I'm wearing all silk and then also I'm wearing something that's like a flowy slip dress.

  • This is something that is really fun to where it's almost dangerous on how short it is.

  • I wouldn't go any shorter than this.

  • And as far as skirt lengths are concerned, I would never as a petite where anything that is knee length.

  • So if you're gonna wear something above the knee, I would say like mid thighs, a really good range.

  • This slip dress actually comes with adjustable straps so you can adjust it to where it kind of works for you.

  • And then with this Alfa It's not monochrome.

  • So I wanna work with us a little bit differently than I did in the past.

  • So you probably know what the next tip is gonna be.

  • I'm gonna add my jewelry that is going to make this outfit in particular look much less childlike and more grown up and sophisticated.

  • I love the look of jewelry with this outfit.

  • So with enough like this, I could totally see myself wearing flats just because it's a nice little summary Alfa, I might not be doing something that requires dress shoes.

  • I might want to wear something really laid back like a flat, and that's totally fine.

  • So I'm gonna start with some black flats, so you might notice that the colors are kind of mingled here.

  • So it doesn't really do any favors, too.

  • My legs, which, by the way, I did tan for a full day before taping this video.

  • And this is my tan.

  • But that's all right.

  • The dress and the shoes are really not making my legs look any more tan than they are.

  • And then also, it's just not necessarily making my legs look longer because it just the color stops with my flat shoe Here.

  • Ah, Wayne about these shoes is that they are appointed toast.

  • I'm just going to swap them out with the same type of shoe that's in a different color.

  • This is the skin tone color version of this, and right now I think they run a little bit darker than when I first bought the's a year ago.

  • So because that dress is shorter now, my legs look a lot longer just by making the shoes match my skin tone.

  • There's nothing stopping, and it was just going to go for miles and miles.

  • Next, I'm going to choose a purse that's really small and fun and flirty with this outfit, but first, I want to show an example of what it looks like to wear a large purse s O.

  • In this case, there are times when you need to bring a toad or a computer bag or maybe a diver bag or whatever you've got going on in your life at the time, it might mean that you're carrying more stuff, but if you can get by with carrying less than definitely do it because especially for summertime, it just looks so good to have a small bag.

  • And so that's what I'm doing today.

  • I'm just got this little, very summery.

  • It's like a wristlet, you know, it's something that goes well with anything in this whole outfit together.

  • I just loved the idea of it being more summary and beautiful and breezy casual.

  • But I still want to do one more little swap because this skirt is so much shorter.

  • I want my my legs toe look longer, so I will be using heals, and I just think that heals not only give you that literal height, but they're gonna emphasize beautiful things about your legs, and that's what I'm really going for with this outfit.

  • But one thing you'll notice is that I'm not pulling my hair back.

  • I think it's totally fine to wear your hair down sometimes, and I like the look of having for this outfit having my hair down.

  • I think that that's fine, because I'm not doing the trick of having monochrome.

  • You know, with the other outfits I would make my outfits look sky high from top to bottom, looking monochrome and long and lean.

  • But with this outfit, it's more about what I'm doing with legs and purses and peels in the length of my skirt.

  • So all of those things are impacting this.

  • I think that the biggest impact is just the size of the purse was so different between having a large purse and having a small purse.

  • And altogether, I hope that all three of these outfits kind of work for you and for summertime.

  • And maybe they give you some outfit inspiration if nothing else.

  • But I hope they make you feel like you are at your best with your outfits, and that's the goal with really all of my outfit style content.

  • And I hope that you like this video and subscribe and I'll see you guys next time.
