  • I think that's the problem in the West Indian communities.

  • This is right now this video making just address the situation because most of our audience is Caribbean.

  • This patient Jamaican states, immigration, form of love.

  • Yes, that is, that is experience experiment This July, we have lost a lot of migrants and it's causing a lot of controversial bait.

  • Yes, so they don't want t o come into much.

  • I'm personally between I understand where you're coming from.

  • Term off.

  • First of all, Obama give a temporary status.

  • It was not permanent sadist.

  • We knew that from the get go back into dozens.

  • Now, after my research, I noticed that the ethnicities in Eunice Estates had a conversion rate off refugee status to primitive status very much harder.

  • Other like equal Dorian with 42% other was 47%.

  • Ours conversion was around 5%.

  • And I think this is where we have to make make a focus on.

  • Not that I don't want to receive them much in Montreal on vacation.

  • I just want to make sure that not only have the proper information is mistakes, how toe comfort from refugee to like permanent status in the states.

  • So this way we could have like, like, reduce them out, off off, migrant coming out to kind of illegally.

  • Remember?

  • That's the word.

  • Remember Ations?

  • Yes, you could cross the border, But I see Let's get across the border.

  • They're gonna put handcuffs on you.

  • All I'm saying is that yes, this is a situation some people are saying, OK, this is neglect on top off migrant states that didn't work.

  • But at the market soon shin look, that is very, very disciplined.

  • Riggers process.

  • I understand.

  • I really do understand why it's hard.

  • But now, as a community, I think we should actually get our heads together.

  • Get our best minds are people that actually has the knowledge to know how lawyers, immigration lawyers on both sides of the country, Canada and in the States you actually find solutions to help.

  • I don't think I'm Spence.

  • It's an unfortunate situation altogether because there's people coming with Children and I'm hearing a soon as they arrived to the border.

  • There's some people who are stuck there for a few weeks or sitting on the floor for washing your clothes in the toilet.

  • Just because there's like three toilets for 300 people.

  • These these conditions are unfortunate, however, you should welcome them open arms because they need to be house temporarily in the Olympic stadium or schools or organizations.

  • Am ch.

  • Whatever the case is, shirt do the necessary.

  • Let them understand that this is not terminus, because essentially, what's happening is these people who are showing up showing up at the border who are coming from war torn countries or being prosecuted or whatever the case may be in situations that are just, you know, a notch worse then where they are.

  • So they're jumping the line to try and get this refugee status.

  • And I'm not done that.

  • I'm not saying turn them away at the border.

  • They're here.

  • Bring them in.

  • Like if someone were to knock on your door who needed help, bring him in and give them the tools public to find the necessary.

  • But you cannot stay here forever unless you do the necessary process.

  • There's so many layers to this where I'm not sure I understand the refugee process is very long and very straining with understand the immigration process in the States.

  • It's super long, super strenuous.

  • We were actually Googling it before we did this video because he didn't want to be shooting off her mouth, saying just anything.

  • So we understand that it's hard now.

  • I could hear it already had a bunch of people like, you know, something along and he's in a bad situation and I understand this way won't come from families who come from developing nations.

  • You know what it's like, You see?

  • You see it in their eyes.

  • All I'm saying is that Obama had given that temporary status for seven years.

  • We knew that there was a destination.

  • We knew that there was a deadline seven years, then Trump all he did.

  • And I'm definitely not again.

  • Does not Trump.

  • So come at me with comments.

  • It's okay that I'm saying it now.

  • I'm not.

  • Trump is giving off until 2018.

  • We knew the deadline was this year.

  • So this mass migration that's taking place all of a sudden this does not make sense to me.

  • I know you don't want to go back to Haiti because maybe there's nothing there left for you.

  • Maybe you've already started your life.

  • Got a taste of North America culture and customs and things are easier and to make your way, and I get it.

  • But I feel like after seven years, there's some type of steps that should have been taken so that you could have at least been able to stay in the states a little longer or already have some paperwork ready for Canada if states is to show cause I know our process is pretty complicated as well, but not so seven years.

  • As soon as you get there, you need, like something should have happened seven years to get frozen.

  • My mom just recently has reasonable maybe six months ago, and she sees a video on how to cross the border by step, how to actually go and legally go into the city in tow.

  • Kind of.

  • So in my mind like you knew, you just choose.

  • It's like you guys are running together with all of this information so that you could come up into Montreal.

  • How long was rallying seven years ago, six years ago, five years ago?

  • Hey, where can I get my documentation?

  • What can I do to start Googling toe, find a proper ways to get a work visa for the States isn't wanting for me that's happening.

  • Come up together and I get a work permit or a temporary status or get that type of information.

  • If we can rally together and give this information that's causing this situation, why couldn't we not do this in a more productive way?

  • I think that's the problem in the West Indian community.

  • Sometimes this way, rally together for things that it's reactive instead of Proactiv.

  • Anyways.

  • All in all, I just think this whole situation is a mess.

  • I think it's unfortunate.

  • Once you're as a border, Canada should welcome you open arms, at least give you somewhere temporary to stay.

  • And when I say temporary doesn't mean apartment or empty houses or whenever.

  • If it's the Olympic stadium or empty schools or something that's equipped with cots, bathroom facilities, food, all that type of stuff, the basic necessities awesome.

  • I think Canada also should be equipping you guys with some type of legal immigration counsel so that you know what your next steps are.

  • How did you love the paperwork?

  • But this people were gonna be filled out back in the States as well, but just help you out with that type of way.

  • Don't get us wrong.

  • It's not that I don't want help.

  • We're going to help.

  • This is not with noise and kudos to all those who are helping.

  • Whether you're in the Haitian community, you're not shut up to you.

  • You guys were tuning in.

  • We just wanted to give our our two cents, but couldn't really be quiet about it.

  • Still, Sabara, the people watching star from the Caribbean diaspora, especially Asians love to come for me and the Jamaica Bridges presentation blood.

  • But feel free to leave your comments.

  • Let us know what you think.

  • Whether you agree or disagree with this specific video will not be tolerated.

  • And hate and disrespect any foul language, anything like that.

  • So what?

  • You're just having a discussion?

  • My husband and I on hopes we have for you guys to have a discussion as well.

  • Thank you again for watching.

I think that's the problem in the West Indian communities.
