  • All of us are sharing a grief we all understand, yet find difficult to comprehend were broken hearted, that 17 Children and teachers were robbed of their lives.

  • And that hundreds of family members and friends have had their world shattered as well.

  • And that all of us will never see these hopeful Children blossom into the con tribute ear's to the community that we could so vividly envision indeed as thes innocent souls rest in peace.

  • It is we who feel the anguish and the burden and the responsibility to take positive action to ensure such brutal, senseless violence.

  • Destruction hurts no more families and steals the lives of no more Children as our community And as our nation comes to grips with this vexing dilemma, let us please vow toe work together in love, in harmony, in unity for the sake of humanity, for the sake of our country and for the safe of her Children both living and lost We will remember the heroes and we will remember the bright lights gone dark And we will find strength in each other for only together Can we bring the change to our community that we all so desperately seek Won't you join together now in silent devotion As we remember those whom we lost And as we commit to unite to ensure that such tragedy befalls us no more God bless America Land that, uh stand beside her and guide her through the night with the light from above a from the mountains Thio the prairies Thio sins wide with God America my home Sweet, huh From the mountains to the prairies Todo oceans Why wait, America?

  • I just want to start off by saying that I live in Park Win.

  • Been living there for the last 12 years.

  • My wife was born and raised in that area.

  • My kids go to school in Parkland.

  • When I'm done playing hockey, I want to spend my life in Parkland.

  • I love that city less.

  • Last week it was Valentine's Day.

  • I was in Vancouver, and, uh, obviously, we all know what happened.

  • It was hard for me.

  • Thio be on the West Coast and not be able to get back home and protect my family so no child should ever have to go through that.

  • It's terrible.

  • It's time for us as a community to take action.

  • It's enough.

  • Enough is enough.

  • We got to take action.

  • The families of the victims, our hearts are broken for you guys.

  • There's no much to say.

  • It's it's heartbreaking.

  • You guys are in our thoughts.

  • We've been thinking about you every day constantly for the last week and just know that we're there for you.

  • If you guys need anything, you'll be in our prayers and, uh, let's try to move on together.

  • Last two more things.

  • Uh, just to the teachers at the school.

  • You guys are heroes protecting your Children.

  • Some of them didn't make it.

  • Trying to protect Children on duh.

  • That is truly what a hero is.

  • And those people I need to be put on a pedestal for the rest of their lives.

  • The last thing I want to say is, since last Wednesday, I've been watching the news and I've been seeing what the kids from Douglas Stillman and doing.

  • And I am very, very proud of you guys.

  • You guys are brave.

  • You guys are an inspiration to all of us.

  • And that the other day you guys air what's giving us hope for the future.
