  • well, The Sharks started off the first period, giving up a breakaway.

  • Bedell came a big on that save, and then after that, they really settled in about five minutes into the game, there was a shift for Sharks at five or six shots on goal in one shift and half it through the period.

  • They even drew a penalty, but on the part played that didn't even have a shot on goal.

  • And that followed a couple of bad shit from the Shark's eventually declare made it past from behind the goal to Nick Paul, who was all by himself in front of the net, and he wrecked it home.

  • Theo get on one time.

  • Great feed from behind an auto jumps in front one.

  • Nothing with Sharks down 10 They even do a second penalty little bit later, but no score on that one as well.

  • But it was a little better performance than the first part play then, with 30 seconds left in the first period that drew the third penalty.

  • That's when Bobby Ryan mow down Del and Mason was on top of him to put him down on ice.

  • Now, during that power play, Brent Burns took a hard shot from the blue line.

  • Goldie made the initial say pork buns up in the air and Evander Kane reacted in the net from the air and tie the game at one.

  • Theo.

  • Have a shot.

  • Take one, take one.

  • Neither team scored in the first or the second period.

  • Both teams have plenty of chances, but both goalies performed really well tonight.

  • So the game goes into overtime, tied at one, but just 35 seconds into an overtime.

  • Senators get a breakaway with declared on the right and Chris Turney on the left, and Brent Burns made a diving attempt to prevent the past.

  • But for some odd reason, Gambrell also went to the wrong man, and the past got across to Chris Trainee for an easy tap in overtime goals with the game winner, Theo Final score, Senators went 2 to 1 in overtime.

  • Brent Burns had 32 minutes of ice, and tonight, with a lot of the defenders out of the lineup, he had to do some heavy lifting.

  • Uh, what's that?

  • Um I mean, I think there was.

  • We had chances.

  • We had, uh I think it's pretty tight there wasn't much going on out there, and you get overtime.

  • So it's, uh, just one chance One way.

  • I feel great from I think we're on the same boat way, all trained for summer to play more than one way place.

  • I could eat more.

  • Do you have any thoughts on the possibility of playing barely scraped through high school?

  • I'm talking about anything else.

  • $20,000 back in both.

  • Our guy's been great all year with, uh, he gave me some huge saves.

  • He was, uh he was He was everyone.

  • When there's a breakdown, they're going to break down every night on ER meets a mute one.

  • So Del came a big for the shark tonight, including that poke check on the penalty shot.

  • I felt good.

  • Um, yeah, we had a lot of shots, but I think we did a pretty good job of limiting their second and third opportunities For the most part.

  • Yeah, I felt good out there shot.

  • Uh, I mean, he came in kind of slow.

  • I have seen him do that a few times, but, uh, you just pulled in the loss of buck, but I think if he would have held on to it.

  • He would have just jammed it into my bad anyway.

  • Yeah, there's, uh I mean, way had, uh, only only a couple of breakdowns.

  • For the most part, I think, wait a really solid game and, uh, way had a lot of chances and just, uh, bounced over stick a couple of times.

  • Just, you know, some bad luck, I think goes there.

  • You know, one of those goes in a whole different game.

  • They talked about the possibility of playing future games and empty arenas with outbreak thoughts on her.

  • I mean, if that's what they do, that's what they do.

  • But I don't think it would make a huge difference.

  • May be kind of weird to be really, really quiet, but, uh, yeah, I mean, it's, uh if that's what they have to do.

  • That's what they have to do.

  • You know, a lot of defenders out of the lineup.

  • What do you think about defense tonight?

  • I thought they were great.

  • Um, yeah, we had some young guys step in, and, you know, they played well.

  • Yeah.

  • I mean, we've got the injury playing right now, so it's been a good opportunity for a lot of guys to come in and show what they can do.

  • Yeah, we were really solid defensively for the most part.

  • Asked for bread, please.

  • Tonight it's more help.

  • I guess his role.

  • You said something?

  • Yeah.

  • I mean, uh, he plays for 10 minutes every night.

  • I think I think he prefers it that way.

  • But, uh, yeah.

  • 50 asking him.

  • He'll probably say he's not played enough.

  • Uh, yeah, I think he plays his best when he's when he's out there a lot like that.

  • Uh, he was He was good tonight as well.

  • Arounder can has been playing some really great hockey for the shocks lately.

  • And, of course, the only shark to score tonight was a vendor cane.

  • So, vendor offensively, you guys had a lot of chances today, but this sort of closing?

  • Yeah, I think, uh, obviously we we had some chances around the night.

  • Especially the second period.

  • Um, obviously late there in the third.

  • Uh, we didn't finish it.

  • You gotta be hungry to score.

  • That's really the bottom line you about.

  • I thought I thought, uh, Gamze is was really good.

  • Um, I thought he was strong down low once and battles we created Ah, create some offenses own time and some good low place.

  • When when you explain with us.

  • And I thought he's good, start got them.

  • What difference is there?

  • First It worked.

  • Uh, yeah.

  • I think it was the first to we weren't chart with Bok.

  • We weren't, uh, next getting her on our break coats and were unable to get his own.

  • So, uh, you know what?

  • We don't want any faceoffs either.

  • So that was the last year.

  • Pirate boys.

  • You on the face also start with punk, which just makes it a lot easier.

  • And your photo create off that situation with norovirus way.

  • Don't know.

  • Next things.

  • Well, here we have this.

  • What, you set up here?

  • Yeah.

  • It's hard not turn into TV year.

  • Look at your phone and not see some sort of Ah, a news outlet reporting it.

  • Um, you know, it is what it is.

  • Uh, try to stay up to date on what's happening.

  • Um, in a way, you can do tow, protect yourself as much as possible.

  • And, um, you know, I think so far we're doing a good job of taking the right precautions.

  • No wonder after the first period was there some discretion about changing the office more chip and tens where she's trying to skate over the blue line?

  • Um, no, I think, you know, with with the light we have, we want to be able to get pucks deep and four check teams.

  • That's what we're gonna But when you have time and space, you know it's good.

  • Thio, hold onto those pucks in the zone and skate and try to create off the rush.

  • But not the second period.

  • A pretty good job of that.

  • You know, Like I said, we had our chances test to get that second goal and we didn't, uh, were unable to finish.

  • I thought it would be like to play in 100.

  • Uh, not really, No.

  • Oh, I don't, uh I don't see that happening.

  • Yeah, I love love playing from the fans.

  • That's what professional sports is all about.

  • Would you rather I rather continue going the way we're going playing hockey games in front of our home fans?

  • Coach Bob Wagner has its hands full trying to shuffle the players in the defensive line up, especially with so many players out of the lineup.

  • I thought so.

  • I thought her execution early on in the first period wasn't very good.

  • Um, we talked about that after one.

  • I thought we came out pretty decent the second period, and we started dictating the pace a little bit, but yeah, I think both both sides of the the ice Bowl teams didn't really execute very well.

  • Um, you know, nice here.

  • Probably get another one.

  • You know, we want the special teams game, but again, we had a lot of chances around their net.

  • They had a lot of chances around Arnett and, um, you know, just wasn't way had a couple open nets.

  • We had a post, I believe so today.

  • So it was a close call on a bunch of offense.

  • But, you know, we got to find ways to get that second goal earlier in the game and, you know, start taking over the game.

  • You know, I think that it's a work in progress.

  • That line.

  • I think that, you know, I put dealing up there, obviously pointing its top lines a little more defensive minded guy.

  • Um, you know, I thought they just didn't generate a lot early, and I'm not blaming Dylan for that.

  • I think the whole line just really didn't generate a lot.

  • So that's the reason that we made that switch in the third period.

  • Tripe.

  • A banker up there.

  • And so we'll see.

  • I like Thio.

  • You know, insert a couple other guys in the lineup tomorrow and get some fresh legs in there.

  • So we'll make some decisions here tonight and in the morning of who we want to play with.

  • The lines look like, Are you looking at some changes defensively as well in the diner?

  • Well, we really have any choice right now.

  • Everybody with marrow out and mids out, I guess.

  • You know, I thought that Nietzsche played a pretty good game tonight for his first game in the NHL.

  • And, uh, you know, So we're trying to, you know, we know we're playing burns heavy minutes and in the big three or four guys, they're heavy minutes, but it is what it is.

  • We're We're banged up after your you know, your deli is gone, obviously, and then marry Oh, in mid.

  • So just move down the line.

  • We'll see what happens.

  • Um, You know, we put our heads together here and see what I want for tomorrow.

  • As coach Bob Wagner said.

  • It was a sloppy game on both sides tonight.

  • The San Jose Sharks lead and faceoffs, 53% to 47% hits 27 to 20 block shots, Troll to 11 giveaways, 12 to 9 and takeaways, 9 to 8, while the Senators lead in shots 38 2 32 And now for the three stars of the game, the third star of tonight is from the Shark's Brent Burns, who had one assist tonight.

  • The second star is Sharks goalie Aaron Del, who made 36 saves and had 360.947 save percentage.

  • And the first star tonight is the goalie from the senator's Craig Anderson, who made 31 saves and had 0.969 save percentage will see you again tomorrow on Sunday when the Santas the Sharks take on the Colorado Avalanche right here at the S epi center.
