Today I want to do what is one of my most requested videos, Which is how do I keep my white clothes clean?

So I just want to share with you some of my tips.

So I wanted to ask you guys for your tips to so over on instagram.

Some of you guys gave me some really awesome tips that want to share because we all have different things.

Different reasons that we wear clothes in our life, like some people have dogs or kids or specific jobs that might see more stains than others.

But I do have a white, fluffy cat that likes to get his white fluff on anything.

So I tried to wear only like white colored clothes, and then otherwise, I'll wear fabrics that don't attract pat here.

So whenever I buy something that's a little bit more expensive, especially anything white, I like to pre treat it when it gets here.

And this even works with shoes for like any cotton canvas type of shoes.

So Scotchgard is what I do to pre treat anything like that.

It says You can also use it in furniture.

I haven't done that, but this has been really good.

I heard about this actually a long time ago in a Jennifer Lopez movie.

Um, and it was just like a way to make sure that that you're closed a white and clean and prevent a lot of things from happening.

But this is a great weight of prevent that.

So when you do have something to spot clean, then what I do is I use this blue don dish soap.

I have tried the off brand kinds, and those work just fine.

Just the same, um, but only the blue stuff seems to work when it comes to using a dish soap.

What I do is, if something has, like a stain on it right away, the sooner the better you can treat.

So I'll, um, I'll run over to the sink and get some water on it, and then I will use just like one little dot of this on it, no matter how big the stain is, the stuff so concentrated that only really need, like a little dot.

So then I just rub the fabric together and kind of create a foam.

Just really try to work that in, and then I just rinse it out, and then I'll either like, hang dry it or, if I am, like, really in a pinch, I'll try to like, dry it with my hair dryer or whatever, but that's how I treat like almost any stain.

The only stains there kind of tricky is something that has an oil in it.

Like when time I dropped an avocado on my skirt and I never could get that one back.

I have tried things like chalk to kind of absorb oil stains, and I worked okay, but I haven't really solved that one out.

If you guys have any tips for that, let me know because I would love you for life if you could tell me that.

But the sooner you can treat a stain, the better.

And that goes even when you're traveling.

When I was a Disney World is a perfect example, because my self tanner in the heat of the day had really rubbed off on my beautiful white shirt, the one that's actually pictured in my cover photo of my channel.

Um, and that photo was actually taken after I got the stain on it.

So testament to how good this trick worked when I realized that that had happened and the stain was like all inside and even on the outside of my shirt.

It's this beautiful white shirt with a stain.

I went over the sink and I kind of did the same thing I did with the blood under soap.

Only instead of this I used one of those little facial bars of soap.

So I, um, I got it wet and I scrubbed that area really good, just with as much soap as they could handle.

And then I just hung it up to dry so that, um, at least it would get a chance before I would wash it like a week later when I got home.

And then by the time that I got home, washed it, let it air dry, the stain was completely gone, so that was just a really cool way where I was able to save my shirt.

Yeah, Any time you Congar something treated right away is the best thing.

So I have some laundry tips to when it comes to a white clothes.

I always wash all my whites together, but I no longer wash my socks with that load.

So even though I have White Sox, they don't go in the white slowed they go in with, like, the towels and stuff.

I learned that in college when everybody was doing their laundry in one location and we're all sharing tips, and that was like one big thing that I was doing wrong.

Um, and so ever since then, my whites have been a lot cleaner because I haven't been throwing in, like, dingy socks with them.

So when I do wash my whites my white load, I will put bleach in.

But I put that in the beginning without any detergent.

Why do that is because I've read that detergent and bleach won't necessarily make your clothes extra white when they're working.

At the same time, they'll just kind of combat each other and then your clothes won't be as white.

So some people like to put in their detergent toward the end of the wash instead of right away if you just have to have detergent in there.

But for me, I just really think that I'm fine with just the bleach.

Like bleach has its own cleaning properties in my mind, so I just kind of wing it with that.

And no one's ever told me that I have stunk after a bleach wash.

I actually really like the scent that we chest.

I think it's just like it smells like a clean hotel room.

So another topic that I want to cover when it comes to laundry and stains is pit stains and those stains that you get around the collar of your your shirts like your dress shirts.

Zack had one that he had for years that was tailored to fit him properly, and we really didn't want to just give it away or, like have toe buy a new one to replace it with.

And it was really almost past the point of giving it away.

It was like just you know, we were like, Well, we put in the money for this.

So what we did is again we used blue Don dish soap with a toothbrush.

You can also use, like a scrubber grout brush or something that you have on hand that will scrub it and really good, um, creative paste with water, like a foam, I guess.

But then you also can Sprinkle in either borax, which is really good for laundry or else baking soda and just create a really good paste that you can leave on for, like 30 minutes, if not longer.

And then just print that out and wash it.

Um, that got out all of the stains, so that worked for the collar.

Mostly, I think we also worked on pit stains.

With that, you could try that, Um, and it's just kind of something that you can do repeatedly as much as it needs.

So I have a few things that I also want to include in this that aren't necessarily laundry tips, but just things to remember.

Um, so, first of all, you might want to try an ivory instead of a white, sometimes I prefer that, um I think on certain skin tones especially you might, um, feel like you look better in an ivory versus a starch white stark white color.

The problem is, if you do want a bleach it or really get in there, you're not going to be able to as much as you could with a white shirt.

I would also say that not everyone is going to inspect your clothes as closely as you are.

So maybe just take comfort in that fact that, you know, maybe those that those pants air, that shirt that you invested a lot in that's white.

Um, they might get a little dingy with age, and that's okay, really, Because they're not going to go up there with, ah color chart and try to see, like, if your pants are exactly white all the way across, Um, you know those terrible commercials for whitening your teeth where they're like doing the napkin tests?

I actually think that that would be like the rudest friend.

So don't go running around the people with napkins trying to see how white their clothes or teeth are.

Um, so I just think that that's something to remember is that, you know, maybe the clothes that you really love have seen better days, but it doesn't mean that they necessarily looked into two other people.

And also I When I'm doing laundry, I don't necessarily wash every single thing after every use.

One is I don't have a washer and dryer in my home, so I actually have to make decisions.

I'm going to wash when I have to carry it out of my home and stuff.

And the other reason is because washing can really damage your clothes after time and drying, especially drying him.

And so you kind of have to think about that, too.

Like if you really love a piece or if it's very delicate, it might do better with less washes.

If that's really what you want to do, see if he needs to be washed.
