  • - [Steven] To us this is not really extreme anymore.

  • - [Hannah] I know, honestly.

  • - [Steven] This has become our norm,

  • this is how we see ourselves.

  • [jagged electronic music]

  • - Hi girls!

  • We're the designers behind Fecal Matter,

  • and we're here to show you one of our favorite looks.

  • So for us, the first step really is,

  • after shaving our heads

  • is to put our eye contacts in.

  • And the eye contacts we use are called scleras,

  • eye contacts that cover your entire eye.

  • - In some countries they're banned

  • - They may hurt a bit for those of you

  • who are doing it for the first time, but I find--

  • - It's worth it for the look. - It's worth it.

  • It's for the look.

  • - The next step is to do foundation.

  • So basically I just like,

  • put it all over

  • the shadow.

  • - In the back you don't need to put as much

  • because what I do is I kind of like,

  • blend it back into the regular skin color.

  • - For the eyebrows, 'cause even if we shave our eyebrows,

  • we kind of want it to look more

  • - Matte.

  • - Matte. [laughs]

  • - Before me and Steven met each other

  • we never did makeup, like ever.

  • Like I never even wore makeup.

  • So we kind of learned together.

  • - And we didn't look like this all the time.

  • - Yeah we didn't look like this.

  • Like I had hair, I had eyebrow,

  • I had really long, blond curly hair.

  • I like, really went for like a full Burberry type of look.

  • - We're gonna do like a pink blush.

  • - I call it the fairy eye.

  • - So we're gonna do now my eyeliner,

  • which is just like a black liner,

  • but it's very extreme. [chuckles]

  • - And technical.

  • - And technical, yeah. [chuckles]

  • - Usually how we, when we do the graphic liner part

  • that Steven is doing now,

  • we start with a drawing.

  • And Steven is using actually a lip stick,

  • rather than a liner.

  • - Is it good, Hannah?

  • - I think it looks really beautiful.

  • - The next step is to do the veins

  • around your eyes.

  • So the veins is kind of like our signature thing,

  • we've been doing that for a very long time.

  • - I'm really obsessed with peeling skin,

  • and I've always like,

  • wondered what humans look like

  • with no skin on.

  • - I'm gonna use a red MAC lipstick, matte,

  • to basically do the lines.

  • So now I'm just like smudging it out.

  • - Just to give like a shadow

  • around the vein instead of the--

  • - Like you know when you get like a tattoo,

  • and it's fresh,

  • there's redness around the tattoo.

  • So that's basically what the blurring, smudging effect is.

  • So now we're just gonna do a smudge lip.

  • So first we just dab a little bit,

  • and now you just like brush it out.

  • - The last step of the look for me

  • is just to put gloss on top of the lip.

  • I always use Lipglass by MAC.

  • - Now we're gonna add our flower hairpieces.

  • - It's really just fake flowers

  • from the dollar store to be honest.

  • [laughs]

  • - Don't do this at home.

  • This is just [chuckles] our little

  • - Trick.

  • - Yeah.

  • So we superglue.

  • When we DJ, we sweat a lot and it gets really intense,

  • like our music is really hardcore, so

  • we've done it where we've used other regular,

  • like eyelash glue or whatever

  • and it just doesn't work, so.

  • - So we're kind of just putting a streak.

  • - And you have to put it fast because it might dry.

  • - Ah!

  • - [Hannah] Oh my gosh, you scared me! [laughs]

  • - So the green matches my eye contacts.

  • This is like a mouthpiece that we sell

  • on our online shop Depop.

  • - It kind of,

  • what's gonna happen is it really like pushes your lips out.

  • - Yeah.

  • It like, cinches it.

  • - So the more you push it back,

  • so see how now, like I can't really close my mouth really?

  • Which is like kind of the look.

  • It's a bit torturous,

  • but we enjoy that.

  • - Honestly, sometimes it can sting.

  • - Yeah.

  • - But it's more when you take it off it hurts,

  • to be honest.

  • - We're gonna get dressed - How about let's

  • put our look on.

  • - Yeah we'll put the shoes on.

  • - So the first step, you have to baby powder

  • your feet.

  • Because silicone makes you sweat a lot.

  • So basically this is a shoe

  • that is identical replication

  • of my leg and my foot.

  • This is a fully walkable and functioning boot

  • just like any other.

  • I think a lot of people can look at people who dress up

  • or express themselves really extravagantly

  • and can see it as attention seeking.

  • Actually, we don't want attention.

  • And when we go outside,

  • we actually fear having attention,

  • because there's a lot of trauma behind that

  • of people abusing us, spitting on us.

  • We actually get so many messages being like,

  • I bet you guys are doing heroin,

  • or you guys on crazy drugs or hallucinogenics

  • to be able to even--

  • - [Steven] Look like this

  • or live like this. - [Hannah] Look like this

  • or have the guts to go outside looking like this,

  • and actually we live a fully sober life.

  • - [Steven] It would be way easier not to look like this.

  • And there's a little bit of

  • a satisfying feeling,

  • knowing that you're not ashamed of who you are.

  • - I was just reading about your boots

  • like three weeks ago or something like that.

  • - [Steven And Hannah] Aww! - [Man] That's awesome!

- [Steven] To us this is not really extreme anymore.
