  • That's John Krasinski in "A Quiet Place 2."

  • OK, so you died in the first one.

  • But somehow, you're still in this.

  • You've got yourself paid.

  • That's what ego is.

  • Yeah.

  • No, it was one of those things where I was--

  • I wasn't really going to do a second one,

  • because the first one was such a personal experience.

  • It was my love letter to my kids, which looks insane,

  • now that you're watching that.

  • But it was really important for me to continue the metaphor.

  • And we actually start dealing with how this all started.

  • And so there's a little bit in the movie

  • where see how it all started.

  • She was talking about that bus scene.

  • And that was frightening as hell.

  • Yeah, it's terrifying.

  • Yeah.

  • You put her in a bad situation that could

  • have been really dangerous.

  • So I put her in a car.

  • And I said, all right.

  • So you're going to go top speed down this car.

  • A car is going to come at you.

  • It's like, not a big deal.

  • Then you're going to hit a person.

  • And then you're going to keep going.

  • And then a bus is going to come at you like, 40 miles an hour.

  • And then it's going to hit the front of your car.

  • And the whole time, I just saw her going like this.

  • Um, yeah.

  • And I was like, all right!

  • So let's do it!

  • And she was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

  • Hold on a second.

  • Hold on a second.

  • Am I really doing this?

  • And I was like, yeah.

  • We're doing this.

  • So I realized that when I put her in the car,

  • I was putting my marriage in the car.

  • Yeah.

  • That if that shot hadn't gone well--

  • Yeah.

  • --this would not be on my hand.

  • Yeah.

  • I still don't understand how that was not CGI.

  • No.

  • In all truth, it was Emily being a great sport and the most

  • amazing stunt driver.

  • There's nothing she can't do.

  • She is funny, she's smart.

  • She sings.

  • The last time she was here, so, you

  • threw-- speaking of buses-- you threw your wife under a bus.

  • Cause Chris Martin--

  • Yup.

  • --sent a really funny idea for doing a musical for "A Quiet

  • Place" where it was just him going--

  • and no noise.

  • No sound.

  • I was in.

  • Yup.

  • But nobody responded to him.

  • Well, he didn't text me.

  • He texted her.

  • So.

  • All right.

  • So again--

  • I mean, Em.

  • I don't know what you're doing.

  • It's Chris Martin.

  • Yeah.

  • He's a beautiful human being, and those eyes.

  • We should write back to him.

  • You're doubling down and throwing her under the bus.

  • So then she's on the show, and she

  • writes a song to the tune of a Coldplay song,

  • sings it on the show, and she sounded amazing.

  • And-- have you heard from him?

  • No.

  • No.

  • No.

  • We have not heard from Chris Martin at all.

  • So obviously, it didn't work.

  • Well--

  • So Emily we'll be back with something

  • new, like a dance number.

  • Or-- I just keep telling her, keep trying.

  • We got to get this guy back.

  • All right.

  • I look forward to that.

  • I do too.

  • All right.

  • We're going to take a break and play Burning Questions when

  • we come back.

  • Oh.

That's John Krasinski in "A Quiet Place 2."
