The Avengers, a team of superheroes to fight the foes no single superhero can withstand.

The original team consisted of Iron Man, Ant-Man, the Wasp, Thor and the Hulk--that was in 1963.

Now The Avengers has more than 22 superheroes, several animated series, spinoffs, video games, awards, and, at the end of 2014, it was the third-highest-grossing film of all time with 1.5 billion dollars.

And that's because The Avengers is more than a comic book, it's more than a movie, it's pure philosophy.

The reason is because they speak to a basic human need.

Each Avenger carries with them their own lesson but it's greatest message is that if we work together, as a team, we can achieve anything.

It's the power of unity.

Hulk teaches us that we must accept ourselves as we are.

It took a lot of time for Bruce Banner to accept this, but when he did, he became arguably the most powerful Avenger ever.

If you take control and accept yourself, greatness will be in your life.  

Black Widow has a past wrapped in secrecy and she keeps it that way because she wants to change.

Now, while you can't change the past, dwelling on it only hurts the future.

Moving on is what enabled her to become a vital member on the Avengers.

Black Widow is proof that what we were is not necessarily what we can become.

Captain America teaches us that fear is no excuse not to follow what you believe.

If it's important to you, don't give up--simple, you stand your ground.

And as he once said: "When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree by the river of truth, and tell the whole world no--you move."

Each member tells an honest truth.

Hawkeye: Keep your eye on the target.

Thor: There is much good we might do.

And even Iron Man: when the bad guys knock us down, we get back up to our feet, better than ever and twice as tough. It's what we do.

Nick Fury still believes in heroes, and if you believe in yourself, if you never give up, people will gather around you to support you, to share your ideas, your goals.

You begin to assemble your own team of "Earth's Mightiest Heroes."

There is no shame in asking for help and that is the purpose of a team, make your own.

Support one another, catch one another when they fall and always fight the good fight.
