  • - [Woman] I'm sorry.

  • - What else did you touch?

  • - Everything.

  • (upbeat music)

  • - Even though Fright Hype has shifted a bit

  • and lately we've been doing a lot of deeper

  • dives into topics like horror hosts and reboots

  • there's a lot of great horror on the way.

  • And sometimes it's nice to do a good old fashioned

  • here's a bunch of stuff that's coming up episode.

  • Now we're still more that a year away

  • from The Conjuring 3 but the franchise has expanded

  • and before we see the third Conjuring film

  • we'll actually get the third installment

  • in the spinoff Annabelle series

  • and this one will actually blur the lines a bit

  • as writer director Gary Dauberman has brought

  • Annabelle home to the Warren's Museum.

  • Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson reprise their roles

  • as Lorraine and Ed but based on the trailer

  • the film seems to focus on their daughter

  • played by McKenna Grace who you may have recognized

  • from Mike Doherty's insanely good

  • The Haunting of Hill House.

  • When one of her babysitters sneaks down

  • into her parents' big room of possessed stuff

  • she finds a creepy doll locked away

  • and promptly lets it out because of course she does.

  • You could see how that works out for her on June 27th.

  • Speaking of creepy dolls, I touched on the remake

  • of Child's Play a couple of months ago.

  • And while there's still some contention with this reboot

  • since it comes while the original Chucky timeline

  • is still going strong under creator Don Mancini

  • with the television series on the way.

  • The new installment got a huge boost off the news

  • that their version of Chucky will be voiced by Mark Hamill

  • who was good as Luke Skywalker but was better as the Joker.

  • Now the unpopular opinion is that

  • I'm okay with both versions and the fact that

  • a reboot is happening while the series is ongoing,

  • might just finally prove to people that remaking movies

  • doesn't make the other versions go away.

  • You can see Child's Play on

  • or plan your protest for June 21st.

  • While we are on remakes

  • The Craft is gonna be getting one.

  • Blumhouse is producing with actress Zoe Lister Jones

  • moving behind the camera to write and direct the film.

  • This one is still a ways out

  • but look for more as it comes.

  • For my next segue watch as I seamlessly move

  • from a remake of a 90s classic to an adaptation

  • of a book series from the 80s that I read in the 90s.

  • Like I said, seamless.

  • Being terrified by Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark

  • is a bit of a right of passage of horror fans.

  • But it wasn't even the collection of Alvin Schwartz's

  • short stories as much as it was

  • Stephen Gammell's accompanying art work.

  • That art work looks to be translating

  • surprisingly well for the screen

  • in Andre Ovredal's adaptation.

  • We've seen some teasers and a trailer that seemed

  • to confirm that the film will somehow manage

  • to capture the disturbing imagery of the books.

  • So yay.

  • Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark

  • makes it way to the screens on August ninth

  • which is a little less than a month ahead

  • of what is, based on the way things went in 2017

  • going to be the biggest horror event of the year.

  • We haven't seen any footage of IT Chapter Two

  • as of right now but since a clip has screened at CinemaCon

  • it seems likely that we'll be teased with a trailer soon.

  • Not soon enough but soon.

  • But you don't have to wait until

  • the summer for all your horror.

  • The Curse of La Llorona,

  • based on the Mexican legend of the Weeping Woman

  • and set within the Conjuring universe

  • is coming on April 19th.

  • Starring Linda Cardellini, Raymond Cruise

  • and Patricia Velasquez.

  • The eerie tale is the first film

  • of the Conjuring universe to not spin off

  • from one of the previous installments

  • the way Annabelle or The Nun did.

  • So I'm anxious to see exactly how they tie it in.

  • Like I said you can find out on April 19th.

  • So what upcoming horror has you most excited?

  • Let us know in the comments and remember

  • Fright Hype and Crypt TV are all over the internet.

  • Until next time keep the horror

  • on the screen and off the streets.

  • I'll see you then.

- [Woman] I'm sorry.
