  • >> Barney: Now different people are going to have different techniques. We're going

  • to start with lines. We're going to start with highlights. I'm doing sort of shadows.

  • I'm probably going to bounce around a little bit back and forth. I'm going to start with

  • a little bit of Skin Illustrator and I want to fill in, find some of the microscopic little

  • lines that Jim might one day have on his face.

  • I'm not going to... I'm not going to... If I find a line I'm not going to do the

  • whole line. I just try to enhance the depth here and there.

  • A solid line will look like a solid line. It will look like something drawn on their face.

  • Now, if you can hold up his other eyebrow like I'm doing, this way we can both of them at the same time.

  • I'm going to go all the way in, just shy of the lash line and just shy of the eyebrow hair.

  • The way you stretch a face is really important.

  • It's going to dictate where the wrinkles are created and which direction they go in.

  • Okay. We cut a bit of an angle here with the hair and cut it very blunt. It's a fresh cut.

  • It's going to help the ends all line up fairly well. I cut the bevel so that it

  • lines up with the flow of his hairline. It's good to actually have all this prepped

  • beforehand if you're planning on doing it. What did we do here? For stage one we prepped

  • his skin, got his hair back and just did basically a highlight and shadow really exploring his

  • face and finding what his anatomy wants to be basically. Step two we added some latex

  • stipple on top of that, stretching the skin so that when it comes back it will hold the

  • wrinkles then did just a minor amount of basically staining more than color on top of that.

  • We added a little bit hair on the sides, a little more gray hair to get a little more authentically

  • gray than just color would allow. I think this is regular gray crepe hair but it can be useful

  • in the right circumstance. How do you feel?
