  • Previously on The Build Up--

  • What I love about Baltimore is a lot of people

  • comes together to try to make it great.

  • And there's a lot of people that's fighting and pushing

  • to put Baltimore on the map.

  • I'm John.

  • And I'm Anthony.

  • We're design and construction experts.

  • Ellen send us on a mission to help extraordinary people

  • doing amazing things in their communities--

  • This is so sweet, that you do this.

  • You go back to high school, and you

  • help with an after-school program to help kids.

  • --and then pay it forward with some incredible renovations

  • and life-changing surprises.

  • Oh, my goodness!

  • This is The Build Up.

  • We've already done two big renovations.

  • First, Timothy and Malik's new apartment.

  • What!

  • Then we redid their high school band room.

  • This looks like a band room!

  • But now, we want to do something even bigger for the community.

  • To figure out how we can give back,

  • Timothy and Malik are helping us get

  • familiar with the heart of Baltimore.

  • Here you have, right here--

  • This is awesome!

  • This is nuts!

  • It is where most of our taggers go

  • to do their different designs of art.

  • I love Baltimore because it's, like, low-key lit.

  • We have dancers.

  • We have poets.

  • There is so much stuff that's going on.

  • So coming up in the Cultural Arts Center.

  • This is it here?

  • Right here?

  • Right here, yeah, yeah.

  • Cool, man.

  • It's in an old bank?

  • Yeah.

  • Yeah, it's a old bank.

  • That's awesome.

  • The Cultural Arts Center is so special

  • because it's a place where everybody comes together

  • in the community to show off their different arts

  • and talents.

  • And then you also have a huge support

  • following that goes down there, and help put people

  • on the bigger platforms.

  • We plan on hosting our own show here pretty soon.

  • Y'all should come out.

  • We'll definitely come.

  • The Cultural Arts Center sounds amazing.

  • It's time to check it out for ourselves.

  • Welcome to the Downtown Cultural Arts Center.

  • All right!

  • Let's do it!

  • And we wanted a safe space, keep kids off the street,

  • give them a place for their talent to grow, somewhere,

  • so they can feel at home.

  • When you have the opportunity to change lives, do it.

  • What's your dream scenario for this space?

  • Well, I have this space outside.

  • And I want to turn this shipping container

  • into a healthy-living cafe.

  • And the goal is for us to be able to feed the community

  • and feed the kids coming into the Cultural Arts Center

  • two days a week for free.

  • I know it's an ambitious goal.

  • But we're going to take the challenge on.

  • This is a big space, man!

  • We want to turn it into a space where we

  • can have outside entertainment.

  • The mural looks like it's seen better days.

  • Definitely.

  • It ain't much now.

  • But we envision it being really nice soon.

  • Well, we're going to make your dreams come

  • true for this space!

  • Really?

  • We're going to make this whole thing come together.

  • Sound good?

  • What?

  • You trust us?

  • You trust us?

  • I can't wait to reveal this space, that I've

  • been dreaming about for so long, to Baltimore community!

  • Yes!

  • Absolutely!

  • All right, so Renny could not be more excited.

  • This space has so much potential.

  • There's so much we can do.

  • We have a ton of potential.

  • First, we're going to have to create a brand new mural that

  • represents the community of Baltimore.

  • And then the big project is the shipping container.

  • We're going to have to transform this into a fully

  • functioning kitchen.

  • Luckily, Renny says there's a bunch of kitchen supplies

  • inside that we're definitely going to have

  • to use to pull this off.

  • It's going to be a lot of work.

  • But it's going to be awesome.

  • That wall is massive.

  • There is going to be a ton to do.

  • Well, luckily, we have the Silverado.

  • That'll do the heavy lifting.

  • Strongest, and the most advanced.

  • It's kind of like us.

  • Kind of.

  • The strongest and most advanced.

  • I think we've been called that a couple of times in our lives,

  • right?

  • To best capture the community of Baltimore,

  • we're having a local artist paint the new mural

  • for the Cultural Arts Center.

  • Yes!

  • Oh, I love it!

  • Hey!

  • What's happening, guys!

  • You're making good progress, buddy!

  • Slowly but surely!

  • We know this is going to be a show stopper.

  • Now that work is underway, it's time

  • to tackle the biggest challenge of all, the shipping container.

  • Let's see what's inside.

  • I'm really interested to see how much he has in here.

  • I know.

  • Me too.

  • You know?

  • What did he save?

  • Holy cow!

  • Hold on a second.

  • Hold on a second.

  • Is this going to work?

  • I mean, none of this is usable.

  • This is not a small job.

  • What are we going to do?

  • [DOOR SLAMS]

  • I was up all last night about the shipping container

  • restaurant.

  • Didn't sleep at all.

  • Looks like it.

  • You could tell, right?

  • The hair is not there today.

  • I gotta start looking at something.

  • We have to have a backup plan.

  • He wants to help so many others in the city.

  • The goal is for us to be able to feed the community two days

  • a week for free.

  • We need to come up with a big idea that

  • allows him to actually do that.

  • We could do something with catering.

  • I don't know.

  • I feel we have to do something huge.

  • Hold on a second.

  • What if we take the container idea, put his dream on wheels?

  • Food trailer.

  • Look.

  • It has everything he would need.

  • It's got a griddle.

  • It's got a fryer.

  • All stainless steel.

  • It's commercial grade.

  • This could accomplish everything.

  • Plus he can take it to street fairs.

  • He could go across the city.

  • I love that.

  • That, I love.

  • He can go anywhere and serve the community at large.

  • [STAMMERS] I mean--

  • Holy cow.

  • Amazing idea.

  • Now the anxiety's gone.

  • With this solution, we remove the shipping container

  • and replace it with a customized food

  • trailer from Concession Nation, delivered right to the Downtown

  • Cultural Arts Center.

  • Ah!

  • Oh, my god.

  • It's awesome!

  • Dude.

  • Oh, my god.

  • Wow!

  • Can I help you?

  • I'd like a dog all the way.

  • Sorry, vegan only.

  • [LAUGHS] I cannot wait to see their reaction.

  • You know that anxiety?

  • I'm nervous.

  • I'm feeling it inside.

  • Open your eyes.

  • Open your eyes.

  • Goodness!

  • Wow!

  • That is nice!

  • Oh, my goodness!

  • Beautiful.

  • Wow.

  • It's so beautiful.

  • Looks good, right?

  • And check it out.

  • This mural actually comes to life

  • with a custom-built augmented reality feature.

  • Whoa!

  • It pops out of your phone.

  • And you can play music.

  • [DRUMS PLAYING]

  • What?

  • Yay!

  • Yes.

  • Whether an event's going on or not,

  • this draws the community in.

  • Guys, why don't you turn around right here?

  • What?

  • What?

  • On the final episode of The Build Up--

  • What?

  • Oh, no!

  • --we've got one more big surprise.

  • Oh, my goodness!

  • I couldn't been more proud of them.

  • [DRUM MUSIC PLAYING]

  • [APPLAUSE]
