Hello youtube, BlueMatona here and welcome
to this episode of Game Guides where we will

be taking a look at how to defeat elephants
in Rome: Total War.

Elephants are the most powerful units in the
game, and can change the outcome of a battle

They also have the ability to run amok and
kill both friendly and enemy soldiers.

You can take advantage of this when fighting
elephants by firing flaming projectiles at

Archers, ballistas, and onagers are a very
effective ways of making elephants run amok

and kill their own troops as you can see here
in the video.

Using flaming arrows is key because normal
arrows will not make the elephants break.

Another effective way to make elephants run
is to charge a unit of incendiary pigs into

These pigs will light on fire and cause the
elephants to rampage through any troops near

While these are ways to make elephants run,
there are also ways to kill them.

personally I like to make them run amok because
they can take out their own army, but if you

want to kill Elephants any ranged troops will
do the trick, especially spear throwers like

Hoplites are also Elephant killing machines
as you can see in this video.

Whatever you do never, ever run infantry or
cavalry units straight into Elephants.
