  • You know, the future cybersecurity is very interesting

  • because nothing today is really slowing cyber attackers.

  • We see more and more threats coming;

  • we see in the current geopolitical landscape that we're living in,

  • we see more state actor attacks;

  • we see cyber criminals operating as part of organized crime.

  • So the big trends in the cybersecurity today

  • are one, what's being attacked most constantly is individuals and companies.

  • Not the systems or the infrastructure of the company, but actually the people.

  • The most common way is send you an email with an embedded link or an attached file

  • that you either click on the link or open that file

  • and ultimately you get infected or you give up your credentials, your password.

  • One of the other really interesting ways that people are being attacked,

  • again, through email, is where you receive a message.

  • It looks like it's from your boss or your boss's boss

  • directing you to do a particular activity: send funds and HR information.

  • So we do direct research on this, and we found in Q4 of last year,

  • these kinds of attack increased over 45%.

  • And the FBI estimates that in 2016, there was over 3 billion in losses.

  • For companies to have a better cybersecurity posture,

  • they need better systems, but they also need to educate their people.

  • All of us can do a better job of defending ourselves,

  • and, simple things, we all need to be more vigilant when we open an email message.

  • Sometimes as simple as get up and ask your boss if he actually sent you that message.

  • One of the common questions today is, "What role does the government play in cybersecurity?"

  • And at the end of the day what we will likely see is

  • much closer cooperation between the government and private sector

  • because we're all fighting the same enemy.

You know, the future cybersecurity is very interesting
