  • The first thing you need to do is take the bike out of the box

  • carefully removing the staples on the end

  • So now the bike is out of the box, we locate the Chain Reaction Cycles bag

  • Here it is

  • There's everything in this bag to get your bike up and running

  • Including a pair of pedals

  • A pedal spanner

  • A multitool

  • waterbottle

  • High 5 nutrition

  • And the all important PDI sheet

  • Letting you know that your bike has been checked over by one of our trained mechanics

  • Before it leaves us

  • That includes checks on the wheels, drivetrain, brakes and controls

  • Next up you just need to remove all the packaging from around the bike

  • Ok that's all the packaging off, now it's time to fit the handlebar

  • now it's time to fit the handlebars

  • You need to remove the stem

  • There are four bolts in the stem

  • and you'll remove them using the tools included with your bike box

  • So let's go

  • Make sure when when you're removing the bolts, the washer stays on

  • So now it's time to fit the handlebar in the stem

  • You've got a set of guidelines on the front of the bar

  • Get it, so that this line, lines up to the centre of the stem here.

  • Get it just about right for now

  • Then you can fit the stem cap back on and adjust to your liking later on

  • Each side are on now

  • Located again, to the centre, get it about right

  • Begin to evenly tighten each of the bolts up

  • Before you get them fully tightened, what you want to do

  • Is make sure the bar position is as you'd like it

  • Spin it round, so for now, keep this part of the bar parallel to the floor

  • Feels about right

  • and then tighten the bolts up

  • all the way

  • ok now the bars are in,

  • you're happy with them,

  • time to move on to the pedals

  • Now it's time to fit the pedals

  • We include a pair like this with every bike we send out

  • but most enthusiast riders will be fitting their own

  • It's useful to note, that there's a right hand side and a left hand side pedal

  • which needs to go in the corresponding right hand and left hand crank arm

  • so let's start with the right hand side

  • and the right hand pedal

  • to attach it, you just put it in parallel

  • and turn towards the front of the bike

  • Do it up by hand as much as possible

  • and then you're going to need the pedal spanner we include with the bike

  • just to tighten it up fully

  • Then on to the left hand side

  • That's the pedals attached
