  • Today I’m excited to show you the DJI Ronin, a brand-new camera stabilization platform

  • that will change the way you shoot.

  • Traditionally, setting up dolly tracks or dealing with the size and weight of manual

  • stabilizers eats up substantial time and manpower on set.

  • With the Ronin, weve tackled these problems head on. Weve taken our years of expertise

  • in aerial cinematography and poured that knowledge into our first 3-axis handheld camera gimbal

  • for filmmakers.

  • The Ronin is a 3-axis gimbal that uses a series of motors to ensure your camera stays stable

  • no matter how your hands move or how you move around your environment.

  • When you start using the Ronin, youll start thinking in an entirely different way about

  • how shots are setup and what you can really capture.

  • Once your camera is configured the way you want it, no tools are required to balance

  • it on the Ronin, and you can be ready to shoot in as little as 5 minutes.

  • This is possible because the Ronin auto-calibrates itself to handle whatever you want to put

  • on it. With a maximum payload of 16 pounds, the Ronin gives you the flexibility to shoot

  • with everything from a micro four-thirds camera to a fully rigged out Red Epic.

  • Shooting with the Ronin is a unique experience. Just holding the sturdy, ergonomic frame,

  • you feel the level of industrial design that went into its production. All of the Ronin’s

  • parts, from the motors to the battery, are made to work together seamlessly and in the

  • most intuitive way possible.

  • The Ronin is easy to hold, move around with, and transfer between operators or shooting

  • platforms, giving you unrivaled flexibility. There are three main ways of holding and operating

  • the Ronin.

  • In Underslung mode, your camera is balanced under the handlebars, supported by your arms

  • at chest level.

  • Upright mode gives you even higher, eye-level angles, or even taller views depending on

  • your use of mounts and other platforms.

  • Finally, Briefcase mode is perfect for tight spaces and low-angle scenes enabling shots

  • that would have been extremely difficult or impossible with traditional stabilization

  • platforms.

  • Switching between these three modes is seamless and takes only seconds.

  • The Ronin can be controlled by one or two operators.

  • When used by a single operator, DJI’s SmoothTrack technology intelligently anticipates how you

  • want the camera to move. The Ronin automatically and smoothly directs it to capture the shot

  • you want.

  • Dual operator mode gives you an even greater level of control. While one physically positions

  • the camera, a second operator is able to control exactly where the camera points. This allows

  • an unprecedented level of precision camera movement on set.

  • The Ronin’s smart battery technology gives you over four hours of continuous use.

  • Charging and discharging protection is built in, providing safe, long term battery operation.

  • Another feature is the integrated Power Breakout Box. There are two 12V regulated P-Taps, one

  • USB port and one DJI Lightbridge port.

  • You can connect remote follow-focus systems, third party video transmitters, or even power

  • small cameras.

  • Everything about your shooting experience is made customizable by the Ronin Assistant

  • App.

  • Connected via BlueTooth, the app allows you to configure and fine-tune all of the Ronin’s

  • settings on the fly.

  • Never before has camera stabilization technology been put into such an easy-to-use, rugged

  • and powerful system with cinematographers in mind. The Ronin’s flexibility on set

  • and long-lasting reliability truly marks a paradigm shift in what professionals around

  • the world will come to expect from camera stabilization.
