Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles We're ready for the 2015 IAA motorshow in Frankfurt What a glamorous start at this fancy hotel. I see you're shining! Yeah, you know, why not? This is a special occasion. We visit Volkswagen and I drop by at Infiniti's. And Marco? Mercedes and KIA. There's news everywhere! Are you ready? I'll fire up my Hyundai Genesis. What are you driving? A Caddy Combi... A Volkswagen with 102 PS. Have a good night. Right, 'my' first reveal: the Infiniti Q30 - a premium hatchback to fight the Audi A3 and MB A Class. Technically, it's actually based on the latter, using the same chassis and engines. There will be 2 petrol and 2 diesel engines, all well-known thanks to Mercedes-Benz. Interestingly, there will be two versions: Premium and Sport. The first is more luxurious, the latter is sportier. The interior differs. Also: all versions have these skirts, to emphasize thoughness over Mercedes. Inside it looks neat, lots of flowing lines like on the outside. Lots of MB cues, too. The infotainment display, the door trim. Not an issue, it looks good. Interestingly, each version gets imitation leather - the Sport even gets alcantara. Cool. See? Also: special seats. They do look familiar though... Kia shows off two new cars: the new Optima, to fight the VW Passat. And more importantly, the new Sportage - the model that established Kia in the Netherlands. Both are inside this place! This new Optima isn't that new for Europe - it's been around in the US for a while. Some changes for us: we get a 1.7 diesel engine and a plug-in hybrid - fiscally nice in the Netherlands. Also, there will be a GT version with a 2.0 TGDI engine offering 245 PS. Could be fun! On to bigger news: the new Sportage, a model that's very important for Kia in Europe. It's bigger, more spacious and the interior is nicer. It's quite similar to the Hyundai Tucson. So there's also a 1.6 turbo petrol engine, as well as 1.7 and 2.0 diesel. Though, the styling is really different. I have to say, as a GT Line, it draws attention! And as always, we visit the Volkswagen Group night party, where the reveals really matter. So there's both small news and very big news here. It takes some effort to get close to this scoop: the Audi etron quattro Concept! A study of an fully electric SUV, to go on sale as Q6 in 2018. It even has solar panels! Then there's the new Tiguan, which comes in various shapes and forms. A short one, a long one, a coupe and some more. This is the GTE, a 218 PS plug-in hybrid. It emits just 49 gram of CO2 per km, so it gets nice tax benefits in NL. Interesting! Lamborghini shows it colours: this new Huracan Spyder does 0-100 kph in 3.4 seconds. 0-200 kph in just over 10 seconds. And the canvas roof opens in 17 seconds. This Seat Cross Sport concept has three doors and Cupra performance. What with that? Even Seat doesn't know, when we asked them. We hoped for two revealings here: the S Class Cabriolet and the C Class Coupé. But no. However, we can see the concept IAA - which draws quite some attention too! This Mercedes Concept IAA - Intelligent Aerodynamic Automobile - shows off the future. It's smart because it changes airflow according to driving circumstances. Little flaps in front push the air to the outside, at the rear are 'spoilers' to 'cut' the air. So this is a plug-in hybrid that only emits 29 grams of CO2 per km. Very little with 275 PS. If that rings a bell, we think this is the C 350e drivetrain. So this could be made quite soon. This could hint at the next-generation CLS then. The future looks good for Mercedes. Yeah people, the Bentley Bentayga as a production car. I need to say something. The concept car was terrible, the spy pictures too, but in the flesh it's quite elegant. Yeah, an SUV! It can do 301 kph. I'd like to feel that inside this wealth of luxury. Nifty feature: this Breitling clock - with 8 diamonds! - turns itself every hour to recharge. Amazing. We already drove the facelifted Porsche 911 Carrera and Carrera S - with turbo engine! Bigger news: this Mission E, as fully electric Tesla Model S fighter: 4 seats, 4 doors and 600+ PS. Yet Porsche says it can recharge within 15 minutes. This Bugatti Vision GT concept gives us goosebumps. It's a present to brand fans and gamers. It also hints at the design language for the Bugatti Chiron, which succeeds the Veyron. So far our first report from the IAA. Stay tuned for more!
