  • Okay, what happened to the leopard that fell into the washing machine?

  • - He came out spotless!

  • (Audience Laughing)...

  • Mridu Parikh here and sorry about that, but that was my lame attempt to try to make this

  • not so exciting topic a little more humorous.

  • But it is one that needs to be done all the time,

  • the laundry!

  • So here are the top 5 tips to make this chore a little less overwhelming.

  • Tip#1) Get caught up.

  • Seriously, if you're behind in your laundry,

  • I want you to block-out a day or several evening this week so that you are totally caught up.

  • You need to get over that overwhelming cycle and get unto a routine, but you can never

  • get there until you get caught up.

  • So dedicate time this week so you get there.

  • Tip#2) Do smaller loads more often.

  • Let's face it. It's already a dreaded task,

  • so the more you let it pile up, the more overwhelming it seems at the end of the week.

  • Instead, throw in a low in everyday or every other day a small load so it's less overwhelming and there's less pile up.

  • Tip#3) Pick a consistent time of your day that you throw in your laundry.

  • So maybe it's first thing in the morning or maybe it's after breakfast or after dinner.

  • But make it a consistent routine so that way again, you don't dreaded as much, it's easier

  • to maintain and it becomes a routine habit.

  • Tip#4) If you have kids, use a separate laundry bag, basket or hamper for each of their room

  • so that their clothes can be washed separately.

  • This way you can fold them separately and keep them sorted.

  • So you don't have to spend the time sifting through all their socks to try to separate them!

  • Urrgggghh!

  • Tip#5) If you have kids, teach them to put away their own laundry.

  • Now you may not agree with this but I think if your child is about 7 or older then

  • he or she is old enough to put away their clothes.

  • One of my biggest recommendations of keeping families organized is to delegate.

  • And this chore teaches your kids great responsibility and also puts good habits in place.

  • So here's your challenge for this week.

  • Implement at least one of these tips into your laundry routine this week.

  • And let me know how it goes in the comments below or which one most resonated with you.

  • And if you have any other tips to share, please don't be shy to leave them in the comments below.

  • You can really help motivate and inspire others too.

  • And as always, thank you so much for watching.

  • And I'll see you next week with another awesome tip to keep your life happy and organized.

  • BYE!
