  • Hi everyone and long time no see!

  • As well as a Happy New Year!

  • Have a Happy New Year

  • I said "long time no see" just now didn't I?

  • Well actually to tell the truth this isn't my first Youtube video

  • I don't just mean the Korean Speech Contest video

  • about 3 or 4 years ago I used to upload a lot of videos speaking in Japanese like this one

  • but I suddenly disappeared, didn't I

  • Actually, well...

  • at that time I was in high school

  • I think in my last video I was talking about going to university and then

  • then after that I got extremely busy having got into university

  • So I never made any videos

  • But since then I've always thought that making YouTube videos was really fun

  • and my Japanese really improved

  • so I wanted to make videos.

  • So from now on I'd like to make videos once again

  • But there are probably people out there thinking "who is this?"

  • so I thought I'd make a new introduction video

  • that reminds me

  • when I watch those videos from my high school days

  • they were really embarrassing

  • and I deleted them.

  • So I think even if you search hard for them

  • I doubt you'll be able to find them.

  • Anyway, my self introduction!

  • Hi everyone

  • Nice to meet you

  • My name's Becki

  • There are a lot of celebrities called "Becki"

  • but my real name is Rebecca

  • so naturally my nickname would be Becki.

  • I'm 11...

  • I mean 21! ;;

  • I look 11 but I AM 21.

  • As you can see behind me

  • I recently turned 21.

  • I'm in Japan at the moment.

  • People who know me are probably thinking:

  • "Becki finally made it to Japan?"

  • Yep, that's right.

  • I came to Japan.

  • It's been three months since I came to Japan

  • but since the first month

  • my computer broke

  • There was no way to make any videos.

  • But lately I bought a Mac

  • but I haven't got used to it yet

  • I don't even know how to make videos, and things like that.

  • so I'm always looking up things on Google

  • basic things like "how to use the webcam"

  • Right now I don't have a digital camera

  • Since I'm in Japan I'd really like to buy

  • a high quality and cheap digital camera

  • of course if you have any recommendations

  • please let me know in the comments!

  • Hmm well now I'm in my third year at university

  • If you study a foreign language at a British university

  • you tend to go to that country

  • and study abroad there to get more fluent

  • so that's why I'm in Japan

  • I'm currently living in the most northern part of Osaka... Prefecture

  • Not actually "Osaka"

  • actually I'm quite close to Kyoto

  • So not just Osaka,

  • I'm living quite close to Kyoto and Hyogo.

  • it's really in the countryside

  • As for my actual university,

  • the people who remember my last video

  • are probably wondering:

  • "did she really get into Cambridge?"

  • Yep, I did.

  • so when I get back to the UK

  • I'll be in my final year at Cambridge

  • but I'd like to make some videos about student life in Cambridge

  • I'll have my final exams

  • being in my final year

  • so I need to graduate

  • but I think I'll have time to make some videos

  • and so... Japanese!

  • since I'm in my third year

  • I've studied Japanese for two years in university

  • before I got into university

  • I studied Japanese completely by myself

  • for about four years

  • but it doesn't mean I studied all the time

  • during those four years

  • actually I'm a bit lazy

  • I don't really think there's much I want to introduce about myself

  • Please look forward to my next video

  • This is my room.

  • It's really tiny

  • I can't really complain

  • behind me I have some soft toys I bought in Japan

  • and various decoration

  • I absolutely don't want to forget my time here

  • so I'm collecting loads of things

  • For my next video

  • no, my upcoming videos

  • my life in Japan

  • what kind of country is Japan?

  • from the point of view of a British person

  • I'd like to make videos about these kinds of things

  • I've had lots of different experiences here so far

  • I'd like to record these experiences somehow

  • I think it's more fun

  • to record these as a video

  • I think it's an easier way to convey to people

  • than just writing a blog

  • for example my family back in the UK can watch these

  • I'd like to vlog about "unknown things"

  • even for Japanese people

  • "eh? We've got this in Osaka?"

  • Things, shops, restaurants, places like this

  • I'd like to introduce these to everyone

  • Please look forward to my next video!

  • I'll try my best make interesting videos for you

  • It's my pleasure

  • Have a great new year!
