city of Rostov On Don. There were no survivors among the 55 passengers

and the seven crew members. Reports say the plane, coming from Dubai,

was circling in poor visibility for two hours before crashing.

Most of the passengers on board were Russian, but reports that "three foreigners" were on

the passenger list are still being investigated. Several-hundred rescue workers are at the

site of the crash and the fire has been put out.

A search is under way for the plane's flight recorders.
