  • [Love Will Have Its Sacrifices opening theme]

  • I was dreaming. There- there was a table,

  • but all the chairs were empty. People were coming, I was supposed to be ready, but,

  • there was something rustling behind me in the dark.

  • And then I was on the table with the newspaper staff and the crows were eating us.

  • And J.P. didn't see anything?

  • Whoever they were, they knew to unplug him.

  • It's a threat.

  • Something wicked this way comes, and if we don't stop this investigation, it's coming for us.

  • Yeah, well, if we weren't scared off by vampire cults and demigods, then we're not

  • going to roll over for vague threats, Latin or no Latin.

  • I hate to say it but, The Summers, The Zetas, The Alchemy Club, they were all here.

  • They all had the opportunity.

  • Do you really think a bunch of students, even the power-mad whackjobs that run clubs at Silas, would do this?

  • It has to be something the newspaper was investigating.

  • We have to go back and pull everything, notes, hard drives, everything.

  • Follow the footsteps of the dead.

  • Oh. I see we're low on brave-but-stupid for the week.

  • Eucch. Another editorial on budget cuts.

  • Real estate. And some nonsense about the Board of Governors.

  • I've got an expose on the Pie Night pies... which we don't need to know or think of again ever.

  • Why does fighting evil always require so much paperwork?

  • Come on, the research is the best part.

  • We can scan them for J.P. and have him run a search algorithm.

  • [In a Victorian dandy, computer voice] Always pleased to analyze for a good cause.

  • And while Jeep is on that, we can swab the scene-

  • or maybe take some samples from those Anglerfish Preservation kids.

  • You just know something juicy is going on there-

  • Stop that!

  • This isn't some project. This isn't fun.

  • People are dead. Again.

  • Some THING broke into my room and cut me up.

  • And the three of you acting like this is some Silas-themed episode

  • of the X-Files with cool vampire girlfriends and disembodied sidekicks, well it's-

  • it's callous and it's cruel, and-

  • Whoa. Whoa- Perr. We didn't mean it like that. Honest.

  • Come on.

  • Why don't we go upstairs and clean your bloody clothes with club soda?

  • You know how much you love soaking things in club soda!

  • Or we can burn them in hell.

  • Or we can do that.

  • Hey.

  • Hey.

  • I've been thinking about what you said.

  • This isn't something we have to talk about.

  • I think maybe it is.

  • 'Cause, do I think what you did was brave and amazing?

  • Of course I do.

  • But is it my reason for liking you?

  • Whatever you were before, you were changing before you even met me.

  • Not helping your Mother. Tying to save Ell.

  • Not killing us when we had you tied up for like a week.

  • Nine days.

  • And you're here. Researching. Making jokes in the face of the ominous, "something's coming" threats...

  • Well how could you not fall for me then?

  • I'm pretty sure I was falling for you right from that stupid Zeta party.

  • You mean, the one where you ambushed me? And accused me of kidnapping?

  • I was...you know, terrified that you planned to eat me. But-

  • I am a little disappointed that we never got our chance to stargaze and drink champagne.

  • Really?

  • Because if memory serves me correctly, there is a pretty impressive solarium

  • on the roof of this building.

  • And maybe something bubbly in that enormous wine cellar downstairs.

  • I'm sure the [pause]...visiting professors had impeccable taste.

  • [whispers] Race you! [giggles]

  • Uhh...

  • Good morning, everyone! And isn't it a fantastic day to start taking back our University?

  • We will start with this-

  • weird-ass letter. This thing better not be multiple choice.

  • [Reading] "For immediate release:

  • In light of recent events, Silas University's Board of Governors is returning

  • from abroad to deal with the chaos on campus.

  • This marks the first time since 1904 that the entire Board has assembled on campus."

  • 1904. Why does that sound familiar?

  • That's the year half the campus burned down.

  • [Slow knocks on the door]

  • Uhwho exactly are you?

  • Didn't you get the press release?

  • I'm Matska Belmonde, Chair of the Silas Board of Governors.

  • And you're the meddling teenager who murdered my Mother.
