  • and how long you plan to stay.Weekdays weekends mornings and evenings

  • all have different prices. Here's a list of the costs

  • The standard thirty-minute pack is 100yen for women

  • and 200 yen for men plus,105 yen for every extra 15 minutes

  • In Tokyo you need a valid ID to use the internet cafes

  • Registering for the Mamba part makes it simple to get online

  • and you never have to register again

  • Back in the good old days we had coffee shops called Kissa-ten

  • It was a simple coffee shop where you can sit and relax all day

  • Even back then reading MANGA was a great way to pass the time

  • Life was a lot simpler back then

  • some KISSA-TEN even had mango you could borrow

  • and read in shop. What a groovy idea

  • This might be the origin of the MANGA CAFE

  • Just like the MANGA content

  • the MANGA cafe had to evolve

  • Times and style change

  • We can't live in 1974 forever

  • on to the present day

  • The booth areas are dark and futuristic-looking

  • this is a standard booth

  • It's got a comfortable chair, a computer

  • a TV and headphones. If you want to take a nap

  • the chair those all the way back.

  • It reminds me of a first class on an airplane

  • Let's take a look at another kind of booth

  • This one is okay for two people

  • Wow

  • what do you think?

  • Roomy enough for two people & if you want to use a computer you have a computer here

  • and just go to sleep or take a nap

  • Or, you know if you want to read the whole series ONE-PIECE

  • it's there to catch up so... yeah

  • and people go on dates to these places too

  • dates???

  • Well for the "pair-seating", so that's what it is

  • So I guess people love MANGA so much

  • they'll go in like a MANGA date?

  • Yeah, I guess they recommend each like the series that they like

  • and just read on, and tell each other they're like their..y'know

  • like what he thought about it

  • so let's go get MANGA

  • ok KAI! What you doing here?

  • Just taking a break, reading manga

  • What is this place?

  • I think that's what they call a flat room

  • You can actually lie down here, and if you read too much

  • and fall asleep. More comfortable than sitting in a chair

  • KAI's booth is awesome. The whole floor area is like a bed

  • Many Japanese sit on the floor in their own houses

  • Get a stack of Manga and relax. Which is why we're here

  • MANGA!

  • There's a lot of them! This location in Shibuya has over 40,000 to choose from

  • Let's see what Kai is into

  • " I'm hero" Zombie drama but far more gritty

  • raw in artwork and the main characters a regular guy
