  • Hi, I'm Amanda. It's nice to finally meet you.

  • Hey, I'm Amanda. Are you excited for college?

  • Hey, It's Amanda. It's great to meet you, so

  • do you like to keep your room clean? What am I saying?

  • Amanda, oh my god, I love your hair!

  • Oh, thanks, I- This is so cool we could do this before school starts.

  • My brother Ryan says that video chat didn't even exist when he was in college,

  • but he could be lying.

  • My mom and dad said they met their roommates the day they moved in, but whatever,

  • they're crazy. Oh my god, I love that shirt! Oh, this? Thanks, I-

  • I'm the last to do everything in my family. I have two older brothers and one

  • older sister.

  • I'm the baby. What about you? Oh, I'm-

  • Oh my god, I love your facebook pictures! Sorry, I've totally been stalking you.

  • Not really, I mean, we're already Facebook friends, but what about you?

  • Tell me about your family. I mean, whatever, my family's nuts, but

  • I don't know. I feel like family sorta tells you a lot about someone,

  • you know? What about yours? Well, I have a really big family.

  • Um, they're a lot of fun, so there's that.

  • I don't really know where to start.

  • My family is kind of like a circus. Together they make sense, but outside the

  • tent,

  • they probably all seem crazy. I have three older brothers

  • and three younger sisters, but I guess I should start with my parents.

  • We'll be right back.

  • My parents have been together for 30 years.

  • They're total goofballs. Look at the camera! I used to want to play trumpet

  • like my brother Jacob, but he's just so good at it. I let him do his thing and I do mine.

  • Instead of playing the trumpet, I can play the MP3.

  • I'm pretty good at it.

  • My brother Ralph is getting his PhD in Nano Engineering,

  • so he's the smart one. Don't get me wrong

  • I know pi is 3.1415 something something

  • Our whole family is smart.

  • My oldest brother John is a stay at home dad, which I think is so cool.

  • His wife is a fifth-grade teacher and his son,

  • my nephew, wants to be a garbage man or a space guy when he grows up.

  • My sisters Wendy and Katie are

  • twins. They're not identical and they're not at all alike.

  • Wendy is a dancer and Katie is a bookworm.

  • Or is Katie the dancer and Wendy the bookworm?

  • and then there's my sister, Fiona. Technically, she's adopted,

  • but she's my best friend in the entire world because we're both

  • weirdos.

  • Oh yeah,

  • and then there's my grandma, my dad's mom.

  • She lives with us too. She's really into video games.

  • I've been studying photography for a while now and I'd love to continue that

  • in college.

  • I'm the middle child which I think is cool because it's like I'm surrounded by

  • love

  • I don't believe in myself sometimes. Not everyone has such a big, loving family

  • I guess that's why it's so hard to believe.

  • The truth is that

  • I never really knew my father. He was never really around.

  • I don't have any siblings and

  • my mother has been in and out of jail her entire life

  • I bounce around homes with friends and distant relatives

  • and I doubt anyone ever wants to hear about that.

  • I mean, whatever, my family's nuts, but I don't know,

  • I feel like family sort of tells you a lot about someone, you know? What about yours?

Hi, I'm Amanda. It's nice to finally meet you.
