Homestyle breakfast, street side grills, and culinary traditions passed by down through generations.

Here, fishing villages, markets, and local cookouts are a part of daily life.

It's where we're going to unearth the deep roots of Jamaican food and the pride locals take in keeping traditions alive.

And that's the Jamaica I'm here to taste.

It's 5:30am the sun is just coming up, and

we're starting in a small fishing village just outside of Montego Bay where they're bringing in the fresh catch.

I have a lot of kids because of this fish.
