Today's video is all about stamp collecting in Japan.

So come along with me and I'll show you how you can create the perfect souvenir to remember your Japan trip, which is not only a lot of fun to make, it's also absolutely free.

My good friend Ishika and I have been very kindly invited to stay at two different hotels.

So that means we're going on a trip across the country.

And while we're at it, we'll be giving you all the tips and tricks for stamp collecting in Japan.

Before we get started, I should probably teach you a little bit of Japanese.

Nothing complicated, just a few phrases that'll help you when you're looking for stamps.

Jot down these phrases so that you can keep them along with your stamp book and they'll help you a lot on your stamp collecting journey.

Alright, off to our first location for the day.

There's a Maneki Neko here because the Gotoku Ji area is famous for lucky cats.

You're going to see them everywhere today.

It's absolutely amazing and it is the best Eki stamp in all of Tokyo.

So if you are collecting stamps like I am, come to Gotokuji Station and definitely get this one for your collection.

You don't need to use a stamp pad with it.

Even if you don't like cats, you have to admit this is amazing.

The Maneki Neko is a symbol of Japan and it's just a beautiful stamp.

So come to Gotokuji Station and while you're here, hop on the Odaky line, which is the train line that runs through the station and and stop off at any of the other stations on the line and you will find the most beautiful stamps on the Odokyu Sen.

The next one I Think is Umegaoka, and they're famous for Ume Ume blossoms.

Now I'm going to take you guys to the post office here in Gotoku Ji to show you how you can get a different kind of stamp called a fukin.

You have to get get the right post office because not all of them have the fuki in stamp, but

And according to the Internet, it's very cute.

I've never gotten it before, so we're gonna see it for the first time together today.

It's a really quick walk from the station two minutes down the road.

You can collect phuken stamps from post offices around Japan, but not every post office will have one.

I've linked a website down below that I use to check before I go.

Unlike Eki stamp, fukain are going to cost you a little bit of money.

You need to purchase a postage stamp, and

the staff at the post office will stamp your fukin on top of that.

Gotokuji Temple and of course, a lucky cat.

After seeing Gotokuji Temple on the stamp, I felt like I had to bring you guys here to see it.

I'm not just saying that because of the thousands of cats, the temple grounds are super calm and peaceful, so I find it to be a really nice getaway from the busy city life of Tokyo.

According to the legend of Gotokuji Temple, back In the early 17th century, a feudal lord was saved from a treacherous thunderstorm after he was beckoned inside the temple by a cat.

In order to repay his gratitude to the cat, he donated a large sum of money and dedicated the temple to his clan.

When the cat passed away, he was enshrined in the temple as a God.

Visitors to Gotokuji can purchase a lucky cat to add to the collection of the temple and make a wish.

You can purchase your own little lucky cat.

Write something on it, write a wish on it, and

leave it here with all the other lucky cats.

I love looking at all the cats because some people have decorated them to look like their own cat.

I'm tempted to buy one and draw like little long hairs on it, make it look like maro and tuna.

The last time I came here, I was the only person buying lucky cats.

It's gotten quite popular over the years.

I think we need to open him and just absorb some of the luck of the area.

Like, you know, it's super, super G1 Love him.

So the plan is to put this guy in our front garden at our new house.

And he's going to go right there with some bamboo and I think it'll be really cute.

Before checking into our hotel for the night, I wanted to pop by the ticket office at Shibuya station.

Often in the larger stations like Shibuya, this is where you will find the Aki stamp.

Either here or near the Shinkai Sen gates.

Ooh, they've got some kind of special train stamp rally going on.

So keep your eye out for special stamp rallies like this.

You will find them happening all over the place.

Last year I was lucky enough to come across a Ghibli stamp rally and I got some really cool stamps there.

So tonight we're staying at the Sequence Hotel in Miyashita park which is located in Shubia, right in center of Tokyo.
