I'm in Kyoto right now and it is snowing, it's a flurry there are big chunks and I didn't expect it, I'm so excited!

Today I've come to Arashiyama in Kyoto and I'm going to be doing a tour with a company called Magical Trip, who also happen to be the sponsor of today's video!

So Magical Trip are a company that do tours all around Japan, you get paired with local guides and they show you around the area and certain spots that they know so like if you're coming to Japan so if you come to Japan and you're like I don't know where to go, I don't know what to do they can show you stuff that you won't be able to find necessarily just by doing a quick Google search it's a great way to explore Japan and also meet new people while you're on the tours as well.

Speaking of meeting new people, I would love to introduce you to my friend who is joining me today, it's the wonderful Georgia!

Uh Like I feel like I feel like everything, I don't know I feel like everything I want is like probably against some kind of rule I desire so many things and I have such a good time in life I don't really, I don't want to sit and meditate and have that discipline, you know I just want to have a good time But I respect people who do add that discipline and have that goal So So here is Seiryo-ji temple Seiryo means refreshing and cool temple This statue looks like who?

I do not know religious deities No, looks like me Look how cute with the snow in your hair You look cute Chunky snow My gosh, it's magical Yeah Magical trip, magical Wow I'm going to put some gloves on Wow   It is said we have 108 worldly seeds We have too much desire, we want to buy something we want to eat something, we want to drink something A lot of desire we want So 108, okay We want to go, we want to eat, we want a lot of things But for Buddhists they have to give up all 108?  Otherwise we cannot get enlightenment You know, we are eating like a lot of animals Yeah So that's why for Buddhism the tofu is so important Yeah, if you guys are coming to Japan and you want traditional Japanese but vegan food actually look into Shojin Ryouri They do a lot of Buddhism food is usually vegan because they don't consume animal products So it's a really good way you can go to a temple and get some really good vegan cuisine if you look into it If you think about Arashiyama maybe you will imagine crowded bamboo forest Here is quite secret and hidden place so you can enjoy that so beautiful Japanese garden without people Woohoo Oh my gosh Oh wait Wait So there is a lot of onion shapes because the smell is so strong, Japanese evil doesn't like onions So that's why they are protecting Have they tried durian?

Maybe durian It's definitely really easy to see on these tours there is no way I would have known all this information and honestly there is no way I would have googled it as I went along She is giving us so much info and she has already spoken to the people who are in the temple and own the temple so it's like there is so much information that I would not get if I wasn't on a tour like this Yeah, absolutely Look at that, this is crazy Yeah It's a lot heavier in real life It's so heavy right now This is awesome What a great day It's like chunks It's raining chunks It's raining chunks Hallelujah People who come from snowy places might be like it's not a big deal But guys, we are Australian What is happening?

I love it with sweets I hope they have sweets So from here it's kind of like Arashiyama Wow, first time It's still snowing It's still snowing somehow Yeah, if you come on a snowy cold winter day, there's not that many people I made it It's tea time My legs are numb I'm like oh god, they're not even there I can't feel my feet We have tea We have some bowls of matcha The good green stuff And we also have a sweet here What's the sweet called again?

Nakuga Always with matcha you have something very sweet because to match the bitterness to match the That crunch is so good I love that texture It's so familiar What's that flavour?

It's a bit rice-y Oh chestnut It tastes like puffed rice I should have done an ASMR one Oh well, it's too late Time to the cook war It's two times the main time Time to eat this And then we need to drink it up Three times and a half So the last bite when you drink, we need to make noise sound Perfect Was it loud enough?

Tenryu-ji Temple Tenryu-ji Temple Sorry, I know you guys are getting hungry We've just been looking around Tenryu-ji Temple and now we are going to get some lunch and check out the lunch spot in here where they have some shojin-ryori Are you excited for lunch?

Itadakimasu I gotta be careful, I'm so hungry I just want to inhale it, but it deserves to be savoured The flavours are very carefully chosen The broth is very light and savoury I'm interested to try lily root Oh, okay I don't know why more places don't have lily root It reminds me of a mix between maybe a potato and a water chestnut and then we have some gomadon sesame tofu, it's my favourite type of tofu It's so squishy and chewy and gooey It's so soft It's like a really decadent peanut butter cube I don't really like peanuts, sesame butter cube I'm going to sit here and enjoy it, bye It's so steamy I can't believe it Just finished eating I feel like I've eaten so much food, my brain is like actively moving at a 10% pace I got there in the end How was it?

That's right Daruma is the founder of the Zen because he was born as a prince, Daruma He looks like Daruma because he is Daruma He was born as a prince in India but he started to train to get enlightenment meditation He started to train for 9 years How to train?

He sat in the same place and then stand at the same point for 9 years He didn't move for 9 years so he needed to cut off his arms and legs So that's why Daruma What?

I didn't know that Daruma had such a history That's kind of dark It's a really dark history actually We don't need to sleep for 9 years but we can sleep maybe one minute enough We can feel nothing is beautiful nothing is the best This is Zen This is insane It's so hard to show you guys just how Wow Okay so we are in the last spot which is Arashiyama shopping area and we are just walking around trying a few things having a look but we are almost at the end so we are just going to do a little bit of souvenir shopping and then we will say goodbye  It's the good stuff You can get chestnuts Are these fake?

These are real It would be so much more expensive to make fake chestnuts than just having them In Kyoto, every single boys and girls when we turn to be 13 we need to pass this bridge but when we walk through this bridge we cannot see the back You can't look back After this bridge, there is a temple called Ho-Rin-Ju temple and that temple can give the kids knowledge and wisdom Try to be 13 I'll try to be 13 We are going to try to walk the whole way without looking back Friends and family we need to call Emma, look at me and you have to ignore them I'm not turning around I'm 13 I'm 13 years old Stop it I got this I'm 13 Did I make it?
