Subtitles section Play video

  • Hi everyone!

  • Today is Tuesday and today i will show you not "How to Play" but "Bonus"

  • We decided to bring back the "Bonus" heading and we will release it once every two weeks

  • So we will have 2 "How To Play", 2 "Bonus" and 2 "First Hand" issues every month.

  • And the first bonus song in this 2014 year will be Linkin Park - Numb.

  • This song is on the top of our vote for a long time already

  • and it is pretty strange, cause it is very easy song

  • It is only piano and simple guitar quint-chords in the original,

  • but i will show you the accoustic version with this two parts connected, to make it a little bit more intresting

  • If you will play in the original (if you realy think that you can sing like Chester) you will need to put the capo ont 2-nd fret

  • But since not everyone can sing the same and not everyone have capo i will show this song without capo

  • So we will play this song with lowered tone from the original

  • There is simple piono melody in this song

  • And we will try to play it at the same time when we will play the guitar chords

  • The chords in the entry are simple Em, C, G and D

  • You need to play the 2-nd string opened, then on the 3-rd fret and opened again

  • Press it with your 4-th finger cause you will need 1-st,2-nd and 3-rd to press the chords

  • And you need play the chord Em

  • but not the simple Em

  • The firts part you need to play with opened lower strings,

  • then you need to put the 4-th finger on the 1-nd string on the 3-th fret

  • Then you need to put the 3-rd finger on the 1-st string on the 2-nd fret

  • So you will make this

  • And you need to add here some good strikes, they are really simple

  • I listened to some accoustic live versions and they all are different so i guess there is no rule how to play it exactly

  • Now you need to press the chord C and to play it practicaly to the end of the bar

  • Then release the 1-st finger and play the melody from the begining, opened, 3-rd fret, opened

  • Just like this

  • Then you need to play the chord G, normal at the begining

  • but then you need to move the 3-rd finger on the 1-st string from the 3-rd to the 2-nd fret

  • And in the end you need to press the 2-nd string on the 3-rd fret

  • Then you need to play the chord D

  • and finaly play it with the starting melody

  • Everyting together in a slow rhythm

  • Then goes the couplet, you need to play it with the simple chords and you can even not use the strikes

  • Em, C, G and D you need to play it twice

  • Then goes the pre-chorus and for the first time it is shorter on two bars than at the second time

  • So there will be more chords at the second part but lets deal with the first

  • C, D, Em and G you can use some strikes here already

  • So we played not 8 bars but just 6 without chords E and G

  • Then goes the chorus and you will play it with the same chords, just like at the begining and couplet

  • I am playing this song in my own manner, there are three main accents

  • So three important strikes

  • And i am playing somethig chaotic between them

  • It is not hard at all, you can even play this with that simple strikes

  • If you wish so

  • The second couplet is the same as the first, so you can add strikes here or even maybe you can go through the strings

  • Well just add whatever you like to make it more intresting

  • And the second pre-chorus, which, as i had already told you, is longer than the first one

  • C, D, Em, G and the second part is the same but you need to move fast from G to D

  • Then goes the chorus, it is the same as the first one, and the Bridge

  • God bless my memory

  • So the chords are C, D, then you will need to switch for two bars G and D chords just like this

  • And everything together

  • Then C and D again but here we will need to switch not G and D chords but F and H

  • And H is not usual press whole 2-nd fret and press 3-rd and 4-th strings on the 4-th fret

  • And you need to switch F to H just on the third accent

  • You need to play it twice, and then you need to play chord F for two bars

  • Everything together

  • Oh no sorry, just for one bar!

  • Then goes the final chorus, you need to play it twice but you need to add the melody from the begining to the second part

  • And you can finish this song in a lyrical manner, just play the last chorus slow and gently

  • All the same but don't strike to hard

  • That's it! The song is realy easy and so we decided not to show the original with simple quint-chords and this (pfff) part

  • What?

  • And this "pfff" part :D
