  • - Hey everybody.

  • This is Billy Porter.

  • I am going to be weighing in

  • on the season's latest fashion trends.

  • This is Billy's court.

  • (dynamic music)

  • So here's the thing, I've never been into sweatsuit,

  • or athleisure wear as you call it,

  • except going to dance class or working out.

  • I will say however, COVID and Beyonce changed my mind.

  • So yes, it's Billy approved.

  • Ooh, heeled Crocs.

  • Interestingly enough, I was just at Balenciaga the other day

  • and they're doing a heeled Croc situation.

  • I like it.

  • Because the thing about Crocs is it's a sandal,

  • so your toes are out, sometimes, or there's air there.

  • I like the air, but it also has support, which is good.

  • You can walk in them for a while

  • without having your knees hurt.

  • Billy approved.

  • I love all three of these.

  • I have actually worn something similar

  • to the guy in the middle.

  • Nowadays, I would totally wear what the ladies are wearing

  • on either side too, in some kind of way.

  • Billy approved.

  • Flossing.

  • I think it's really sexy.

  • I can't do it yet.

  • I gotta get in some more yoga classes

  • and get these love handles taken care of.

  • And then maybe I'll do a flossing situation.

  • I was traumatized by neon,

  • being in the revival cast of Grease,

  • starring Rosie O'Donnell and Megan Mullally, back in 1994.

  • So I steered clear of neon for a very long time.

  • And then Ty Hunter became my stylist,

  • and what Ty Hunter says goes.

  • So now I like neon.

  • And it's good on chocolate skin.

  • It actually really pops.

  • I call it the Viola Davis effect.

  • So yes, Billy approved.

  • Okay.

  • They look cute, they look comfortable.

  • But just like Uggs, I don't think my husband

  • would let me leave the house in 'em.

  • So while they are Billy approved,

  • they wouldn't be husband approved in public.

  • I was a cargo pants boy, back in the '90s,

  • when they were in style.

  • And everything old is new again.

  • So I would think about a cargo pant

  • with like a new zhuzh to it.

  • You know, I really enjoy them when the ladies

  • wear a cargo pant with a pump, I really enjoy that.

  • So maybe I might try that.

  • Billy approved.

  • Have we met?

  • I mean, come on, I grew up in the '80s.

  • Dominique Deveraux, shoulder pads all day, every day.

  • Please, more shoulder pads, please, please, please.

  • Billy approved.

  • Okay, I will say this.

  • I like the colors of the sporty sunglasses.

  • I find that the higher end designers

  • are taking the sporty sunglass look

  • and sort of elevating it.

  • So I like it when it's elevated, in high fashion.

  • Listen, I was doing clashing prints

  • before clashing print was a thing.

  • And I have all the photos from the '80s to prove it.

  • So yes, always and forever clashing prints.

  • Give it to me, please.

  • My fashion advice is always buy

  • the base of your closet, classic.

  • Choose classic pieces,

  • choose things that will never go outta style.

  • And then you can get the trendy stuff, and mix and match.

  • Billy's court is now adjourned.

  • (dynamic music)

- Hey everybody.
