  • Hello Jennifer with Tarle speech with  your two for Tuesday homophone lesson.  

  • Homophones are words that are spelled differently  but they are pronounced the same way. Our words  

  • today are sore which means painful or a wound  on the body and soar which means to fly or rise  

  • rapidly. To say these words correctly, two little  sounds, let's start with that s. Tip of the tongue  

  • is down back of the tongue is pulled up or the tip  of the tongue is just behind the top front teeth.  

  • Air is moving out of the mouth.

  • Next we're going to end with that or  sound. To do that, pucker those lips,  

  • and then move to square tense lips  for that r part of the vowel: or

  • For that R ending the tip of your tongue is  either down or flipped back it is not touching.

  • Let's put that all together sore soar sore 

  • soar sore soar sore soar sore

  • And now for a sentence:

  • Without pain medication for  the sore, the pain will soar.
