  • - Yeah?

  • - Did you want to be part of the circus?

  • Elmo wants to do an

  • amazing circus act.

  • Oh! Just like Grover.

  • - When you know what you want to do.

  • and I'll introduce you, okay?

  • - Chris, Elmo can't think of what to do.

  • - Oh! Well, that is a problem,

  • but when there's a problem to solve,

  • Oh! Or a bike ramp!

  • What if Elmo used the bike ramp?

  • (laughs)

  • - Sure!

  • Let's try!

  • (bell dings)

  • - Let's try!

  • (circus music)

  • Okay, Elmo has an idea.

  • - Okay, so do you want me

  • to practice announcing for you?

  • - Oh, that would be very nice.

  • Thank you Chris.

  • - Okay awesome.

  • So, the ringmaster will say:

  • Ladies and gentlemen, here's Elmo

  • and his ramp.

  • - Yeah, and the audience

  • will go, ahhh!

  • And Elmo will say, thank you,

  • thank you!

  • And then, Elmo will walk up the ramp.

  • And then, Elmo will stand up at the top

  • and go ah!

  • And then, Elmo will walk down the ramp again.

  • And that's not very exciting. Hmm.

  • - Well.

  • - It's okay Chris.

  • Elmo knows walking up and down a ramp

  • isn't nearly as exciting as

  • what Grover's doing.

  • (circus music)

  • - Whoa! Whoa!

  • Whoa! Whoa!

  • - Yeah, sounds like you still

  • have a problem buddy.

  • - Right and when there's a problem

  • to solve Elmo knows what to say.

  • Elmo wonders, what if? ♪

  • Let's try. ♪

  • - You got it.

  • (laughing)

  • - Elmo wonders what Elmo

  • could do, that's amazing and exciting

  • like Grover?

  • - Hmm.

  • - Hmm.

  • (birds chirping)

  • - You know buddy this ramp

  • reminds me of this one time

  • that I went to the circus.

  • And do you know what I saw there?

  • - What?

  • - Fearless Feevil

  • - Fearless Feevil?

  • - Uh huh! Fearless Feevil

  • And, do you know what she was doing?

  • - No.

  • (laughing)

  • (motorcycle revs)

  • - She was going up and down a ramp

  • on a motorcycle!

  • (laughing)

  • It was amazing!

  • - Chris, that just gave Elmo an idea.

  • - Uh uh, Elmo you are too young

  • to ride on a motorcycle.

  • - But, Elmo knows that Chris,

  • but, what if?

  • (bell dings)

  • Elmo rode his tricycle,

  • up and down the ramp.

  • What if that was Elmo's

  • circus act?

  • - Now that sounds like a great idea!

  • Let's try!

  • - Elmo wants to try!

  • (circus music)

  • - And now, circus lovers

  • hold on to your hats

  • 'cause here comes our next act.

  • Sesame Street Charlie

  • and her twirling hoop

  • (music)

  • (cheers and clapping)

  • - Hi, everyone.

  • Here's some tricks I learned to do with my hoop.

  • Music, please.

  • (upbeat music)

  • (audience gasps)

  • - Look at Elmo's trike Chris.

  • - Wow!

  • - Here Elmo goes.

  • (bell rings)

  • Elmo's gonna go up

  • and down the ramp.

  • - Elmo, all right!

  • (bell rings)

  • Wow! Buddy that was awesome!

  • - Yeah.

  • - So, are you feeling good

  • about your circus act now?

  • - Elmo was, but look, Charlie's

  • hoop act is really cool.

  • (upbeat music)

  • (clapping)

  • - Yeah, it is pretty cool

  • but, you are riding your tricycle

  • up and down a ramp is pretty cool, too.

  • - Yeah, but it's not enough, Chris.

  • Elmo's act needs to be

  • even more

  • amazing

  • and exciting.

  • Hmm.

  • (music concludes)

  • (bell dings)

  • (clapping)

  • - And now, Sesame Street Charlie

  • will perform her world famous

  • hoop off!

  • Take it away Charlie!

  • (upbeat music)

  • (crowd gasps)

  • (clapping)

  • That was fantastic, wasn't it?

  • - Yeah!

  • (clapping)

  • - Give it up, one more time

  • for Sesame Street Charlie!

  • (clapping)

  • Elmo, it's time for your act.

  • - I can't wait to see it!

  • (laughs)

  • - Yeah, but Elmo's not ready.

  • - Oh, why not?

  • What's the problem?

  • - He wants to make his circus act

  • even more amazing and exciting.

  • - Oh, well,

  • when there's a problem to solve

  • Yeah, Elmo wonders

  • But Elmo's been wondering

  • and Elmo doesn't know what to do.

  • That's it! Elmo gives up.

  • to make your act even more amazing

  • and exciting.

  • Charlie's act was so good!

  • - What if you use the hoop in your act?

  • - I'll show you.

  • kids and furry friends,

  • the act we've all been waiting for,

  • amazing and exciting Elmo

  • on his tricked out tricycle!

  • (clapping)

  • Are you ready, Elmo?

  • - Ready, ring master!

  • - May we have complete silence

  • from the audience, please.

  • (drum roll)

  • - Oh, okay.

  • (breathing deeply)

  • (bike bell)

  • - He's riding up the ramp

  • - Ta Da!

  • (clapping)

  • Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

  • Okay.

  • (breathing deeply)

  • - Now, he's riding down the ramp.

  • (rising music)

  • He's heading for the hoop,

  • can he go through it?

  • (triumphant music)

  • - Yeah baby!

  • - Ladies and gentlemen

  • Elmo rode his tricycle

  • through the hoop!

  • How amazing! How exciting!

  • How stupendous!

  • Elmo, you did it!

  • - No, we did it!

  • Thank you, ring master Big Bird.

  • - Oh.

  • - Oh, and Elmo would also like

  • to thank Chris and Charlie

  • for helping Elmo make his circus act

  • amazing and exciting.

  • on the ground with this chalk.

  • - Okay, let's practice being tight rope walkers

  • in the circus

  • (balancing music)

  • - One foot, in front of the other,

  • hold your arms out, to help keep balance.

  • We did it!

  • - Great job tight rope walkers!

  • Hi, you can practice

  • doing a circus tight rope, too.

  • (drums beats)

  • Oh ho ho!

  • Elmo knows that music!

  • It's time for the letter of the day!

  • Come on!

  • (laughing)

  • An acrobat does gymnastics and is really strong.

  • - Or, I could be a tight rope walker.

  • A tight rope walker stays balanced

  • while high in the air.

  • (sparkly music)

  • (drum roll)

  • (triumphant music)

  • (clapping)

  • Or we'd be clowns.

  • Clowns are really funny.

  • (snapping)

  • (whimsical music and horns)

  • Having our own circus would be so much fun.

  • - Oh, hi Elmo.

  • - Oh, hi Big Bird.

  • Elmo knows that music.

  • It's time for Abby's Amazing Adventures

  • - Ooh, I can't wait to see.

  • - Hi

  • (laughing)

  • I'm Abby.

  • Who wants to join the circus?

  • - Or be tight rope walkers?

  • - Or we could be clowns?

  • - You'll find out.

  • Just grab on to my handles

  • and we'll go on a circus adventure.

  • Hi ho, off we go!

  • - Whoa!

  • - Welcome to the circus big top!

  • - Whoa!

  • - Rudy!

  • Look at us!

  • We're dressed as clowns.

  • - That's right because today

  • your job is to be clowns

  • and perform a routine for the crowd.

  • Clowns have funny names.

  • What do you want your clown names

  • to be?

  • - I want my name to be Polka Dot Abby.

  • (laughs)

  • - Ooh! I want mine to be Rudy Giggles.

  • - Great names!

  • - Yay!

  • Oh, but wait a minute, we've never

  • been clowns before.

  • - But, we've been to the circus,

  • we've seen what clowns do.

  • - Yeah, you're right, Polka Dot Abby.

  • We've got this.

  • - [Announcer] And now, let's bring in the clowns.

  • Come on out Polka Dot Abby

  • and Rudy Giggles.

  • (whimsical music)

  • - Ah! Um, those are mine. Hee hee hee.

  • (clapping)

  • (bell dings)

  • Aha! A bucket of water.

  • - Whoa! No! Rudy Giggles.

  • - Hee Hee!

  • - No, you don't Rudy Giggles.

  • - Yes, I do Polka Dot Abby.

  • (chase music)

  • - No, you don't.

  • - Oh, no!

  • As part of your clown routine,

  • Rudy Giggles has to dunk you into the water

  • by hitting that target with a ball.

  • - I love being a clown.

  • - Yeah, me too.

  • It's clowntastic.

  • - Ah, I missed.

  • - It's okay, try again.

  • - (ball swishes)

  • - Oh no, missed again.

  • I guess it's too hard.

  • I don't want to be a clown anymore.

  • I give up.

  • - Ruddy Giggles we can't give up.

  • Hmm, what if we tried what you did

  • when you were playing with the socks?

  • - Oh, yeah!

  • I have to take a deep breath,

  • keep my eye on the target,

  • - Uh, Who are you?

  • - Elmo is a monster with a dream.

  • Elmo's dream is to join the circus. ♪

  • To be part of the show. ♪

  • To do something amazing

  • Or even hair-raising

  • And hear the crowd cheer from below

  • Yeah!

  • (car horn)

  • - So, you want to join the circus, eh?

  • Well what do you do?

  • What's your act?

  • - Um, Elmo doesn't have an act.

  • Elmo will find one.

  • There must be something Elmo can do?

  • - Oh all right, but for now,

  • I got a circus to run.

  • - Oh.

  • - Ladies and gentlemen,

  • Our very first act

  • Is the best you've ever seeny

  • It's that dare devil called

  • The Great In-Betweeny

  • - Boss, I can't go on today!

  • - What?

  • - Look, I am stuck between a rock

  • and this other hard thing.

  • I gotta go get unstuck.

  • (whimsical music)

  • - Oh no, In-Betweeny's gone!

  • I need somebody to take over his act,

  • but who? Who?

  • - Ooh! Ooh! Elmo will join!

  • Maybe In-Betweeny's act will be right

  • for Elmo.

  • - You think you can jump

  • on that trampoline,

  • fly up in the air,

  • and land in between those two cactuses.

  • - Yes, because Elmo is

  • a monster with a dream.

  • (sparkly music)

  • (laughing)

  • - Oh! Impressive!

  • - Thank you!

  • - Now, go get In-Between

  • It was Elmo's amazing routiny

  • ♪ 'Cause he jumps on a big trampoliny

  • And like a big sardiny

  • He lands in betweeny

  • - Ooh! Ooh! Did Elmo land in

  • between the cactuses?

  • - Uh! No.

  • You landed on top of a cactus.

  • - On top. Oh!

  • Wait! It looks like the in between

  • act is not right for Elmo.

  • - Then who can be the Great In-Betweeny?!

  • Who?! Who?!

  • (clucks)

  • - A chicken?!

  • (clucks)

  • (whimsical music)

  • (clucks)

  • - She did it!

  • - The chicken is in between the cactuses.

  • - Yes! Let's hear it for the chicken!

  • And the crowd goes wild!

  • (cheering)

  • - And now, he's tremendous,

  • he's terrific,

  • the toast of the town

  • so he's on the Upside Down Clown.

  • - Thank you! Thank you!

  • Thank you everybody.

  • (phone ringing)

  • Oh! That's my phone.

  • Hello. What?

  • I got into law school?!

  • Yeah!!

  • - Now I've got no upside down act!

  • - You do, because Elmo is

  • - Yeah, yeah! I know

  • a monster with a dream.

  • (sparkly music)

  • (laughs)

  • - All right, now get out there

  • and get upside down.

  • - That's it!

  • Elmo can't do it.

  • Elmo gives up.

  • - Oh! Hey there little monster,

  • don't give up.

  • You gotta do what I do

  • and keep on clucking.

  • - Miss Chicken can talk?

  • - Not only that, I can sing.

  • Keep on clucking, clucking
