  • - [Bill Kulterman] In this movie,

  • we're going to talk about the role of the eDiscovery manager

  • and take a look at their capabilities.

  • So right now, I'm here in our eDiscovery center

  • and I have signed in as the eDiscovery administrator.

  • I'm simply signed in as the eDiscovery administrator

  • so that you can see that we currently have

  • three active cases here in our eDiscovery center.

  • You see them, the globe bank case,

  • the labor contract case, and the Johnson incident.

  • These cases have different eDiscovery managers

  • and what we're going to do now is sign out as the administrator

  • and sign back in as one of our eDiscovery managers

  • and take a look at what they can do.

  • All right, I'm signed in as Cecilia Forteau

  • and she is the eDiscovery manager

  • on the labor contract case.

  • Now remember, we had three cases in our eDiscovery center

  • but now we can only see one and that is because

  • Cecilia Forteau is the eDiscovery manager only on this case.

  • The eDiscovery manager only has access to cases

  • that they have been assigned to.

  • The other two, as far as she knows, they don't even exist.

  • Now, the eDiscovery manager

  • has a lot of important responsibilities

  • and probably one of the main ones is

  • creating the eDiscovery case.

  • You see the big button up here that says create a case.

  • If you have been assigned the role

  • of the eDiscovery manager,

  • odds are, you're the one that's going to be creating that case.

  • You can also go ahead,

  • let's select our case and manage the case.

  • Really, case management is the biggest part

  • of the eDiscovery manager's role, as you might imagine.

  • As the eDiscovery manager,

  • you can add and remove people from the case,

  • you get to name the case, you can add in a description,

  • you can close the case and delete the case.

  • Let's go ahead and take a look

  • at some of the other things our eDiscovery manager can do.

  • You see these tabs up here?

  • They give you options.

  • We'll go to the hold tab.

  • Now the eDiscovery manager is the only one

  • who can create content holes,

  • they're the only ones that can create content searches,

  • they can export data

  • and they can send it to eDiscovery for analysis.

  • The eDiscovery manager is an important role

  • in every eDiscovery case.

  • (upbeat electronic music)
