  • The central triangle of this film really fascinated me Tom sort of straddles these two relationships and it becomes very complex.

  • There is very real love between him and Marian.

  • There is very real love between him and Patrick.

  • Tom cannot call himself gay.

  • He cannot embrace the fact that he actually loves another man.

  • So it's like deep denial in there.

  • They're victims of their time, their victims of what they do to one another.

  • Tom and I are married now, we have to sort these things out on our own, even though there are these kind of complexities within the desires of each of them.

  • The friendship is real to all of us, just to confuse people, aren't we?

  • I think I brought Patrick here because I've been so lonely.
