  • Vanilla beans come from an orchid.

  • A type of flower that grows on a vine.

  • Farmers have to look every day for orchids

  • on the vines because flowers only last for one day.

  • Once the orchid pedals fall off

  • the stem becomes the vanilla bean and continues to grow.

  • They're picked when they're green,

  • they're dried for a long time,

  • until they become brown and shriveled.

  • The beans are bundled and crated.

  • And after a while wrapped in wax paper and placed

  • in airtight containers to keep them safe and fresh.

  • This is what the inside of a vanilla bean looks like.

  • the vanilla pudding so add a teaspoon of sugar

  • and a third cup of corn starch to the pan.

  • Okay, now scoop the pudding into the cups.

  • - Next, we use these homemade vanilla cookies for the sand.
