The season five finale, rick moore I Jack ended with the citadel of ricks being destroyed.

One of the most tantalizing pieces of marketing surrounding season six is a clip that seems to take place within the citadel titled A citadel secret.

The short clip shows a giant egg incubating while the citadel burns around it.

It can be seen on the show's official website alongside a countdown clock ticking towards something called Armageddon.

That can't be good.

Oh super dick move, but weirdly kind of cool to admit it.

The countdown will end at seven a.m. Pacific standard time on thursday, august 18th, considering the egg was also used in a poster given to fans at adult swim festival, we expect something big a change in status quo with the closing events of season five.

It seems we'll be in for a big change to the norm when it comes to rick and morty adventures?

Usually rick could pop out his handy portal gun to freely travel to other worlds and dimensions, but while destroying the citadel of ricks, evil morty essentially made that impossible without this useful device.

Were intrigued to see how the show will handle being confined to a single universe, what's happening the entire cities, there still might be one way out of here.

Of course, we don't expect it to stay this way the show has previously and frequently introduced changes to the status quo, like rick going to prison to save his family at the end of season two, only to break out at the beginning of season three, I guess, who dismantled the government?

Promo material along with the warm again countdown, A synopsis for season six was released, It was unfortunately vague stating that will pick back up on the duo down on their luck after season five.

It also promised dinosaurs and mentioned, you're in a few more times than we're comfortable with thankfully an actual trailer shows that rick and morty is just as chaotic as ever.

What does that mean?

Use air vents you've never seen die hard events are impossible to piece together without context, but we get glimpses of summer with X 23 claws, rick growing new mechanical arms in the family, fleeing from all manner of aliens and robots using you as a human shield.

You said it, you said the thing I thought you were doing while we have no idea exactly what is happening in any of these sequences.

It nevertheless puts our excitement levels through the roof episode titles.

In addition to cryptic promotional material, Adult swim has also released the titles of the upcoming seasons episodes.

While these don't reveal too much in terms of plot, they do tell us what popular films we may be getting references to and parodies of similar to those in past seasons.

Additionally, season six has 11 episodes.

Every other seasons had 10 except for the very first and we welcome the additional zany escapade with Open arms.

It's just rick and morty rick and morty and their adventures coming fast.

While this isn't necessarily about season six per se, it is something that should have fans extremely excited.

My daughter having space adventures while the earlier days of rick and morty took longer breaks in between seasons.

It seems those days are long gone.

The show's renewal for 70 more episodes in 2018 came with the promise that we wouldn't have to wait as long for new episodes.

Season nine, more seasons.

Morning nine more seasons until I get that dipping Szechuan socks for 97 more years.

Morning season six will premiere just a year after season five did a schedule.

We are of course grateful for.

Additionally, the writers wrapped on season seven in august of 2021.

It may seem silly to get excited about season seven when season six has yet to premiere, but it's nice to see the team on such a good track in many ways, things will be like season one but more streamlined release date.

As of writing fans without access to adult swim can watch the show through subscriptions of hulu and HBO max.

If we look to season five as a blueprint, it launched on those platforms around five months after the finale aired, fans who watch this way may have a bit longer to wait.

I assure you very jealous Royal and admitted that season five was quote a weird one though, his feelings were partially tied to the death of line producer Michael Mandel in 2019.

While he does Field season five was bad, he sounds extremely excited for us to witness the future of the show.

It's weird that you wanted me to come, but I'm actually excited about it.

That's excited, stoked and say I didn't want you to come.

He claimed season six will be more canonical with the team getting back into the rhythm for what he thinks will be a quote amazing.

And quality season perhaps one way in will be stronger is through more great comedic cameos, something the show has consistently excelled at.
