  • Hello everybody welcome to Tokyo Creative Play.

  • I'm your Osama and today I'm here with Alex behind the camera and let's cut some of this, we just finished work and it's time to do a little bit of a Nomiki.

  • So we're just going to eat and drink at this Izakaya which is one of my favorites is in Tokyo, it's called Hamby and it's a little bit crazy.

  • So let's eat, we are inside the Izakaya.

  • This Izakaya is called Hamby and it's kind of the style of the show what era?

  • Right?

  • Show what era style Izakaya.

  • It's super fun, super cute and the menu is huge and each thing is super cheap as well and the english, the english is very interesting if you come here, even if you understand japanese, get the english menu, it has such classics as well, dip twice.

  • Sorry for the source of the desktop mood guard under the meta or we can get the classic size but that's not really a translation problem.

  • It's actually called it actually, this is actually my first time dining here but these are all regulars.

  • I hear so much fun.

  • My favorite guy, I'm on the website, you can find me okay and we're going to challenge ourselves today.

  • This was Shorty's idea, she's like why don't we eat a lot.

  • This size is really, really cheap.

  • So even though your budget is kind of small, you come here, you can eat a lot and you can drink a lot.

  • So we are trying to get $100 how much tea we can eat for $100.

  • Don't worry guys we definitely can do because I'm going to order the homeland size bir.

  • How big is that?

  • I don't know how big the home run but everything else, everything is so cheap.

  • Like you can get one Yakitori skewers for 50 cents, 50 cents.

  • Everything is about usually less than the most expensive one is 393 20.

  • Oh that's expensive.

  • 5 10 10 shake.

  • That's that's an assortment.

  • Alright let's get ordering.

  • See you when we are ready, friday, Tuesday friday.

  • We can tell them anything.

  • It's sunday.

  • It's my birthday.

  • Wait for the rest of the food.

  • We're gonna play a little game.

  • It's quick game.

  • Well actually it's it's japanese game called.

  • Here we have some little shapes and we're going to be using a skewer to try to get the shape out without breaking.

  • Is it candy something sweet.

  • Something sweet.

  • So we're going to close our eyes and pick out of shape and see how we go.

  • You got gored.

  • I got a number.

  • I think I think it's like alright starting exploded.

  • O book.

  • I brought my way.

  • Whoever has the nicest shape mines in three pieces but it's perfect.

  • It tastes bad.

  • It's like like to taste like the show what it actually like short area.

  • I'm ready.

  • I'm also in many pieces.

  • 3-1 reveal.

  • Oh wow.

  • Yes.

  • I think mine is the best.

  • Where's your old?

  • You ate it.

  • It's kind of minty, isn't it like toothpaste?

  • It's like, oh yeah, I do actually like the texture.

  • I don't know what it is, but I'm not really into the flavor.

  • So I got some gum.

  • 10 cents.

  • Why not?

  • It's Felix Felix.

  • The cat.

  • Where's Felix from?

  • I don't know, but I'm gonna eat your gum on it.

  • Yeah.

  • What is this?

  • Oh, I lost its flavor.

  • It's like strawberry picking number 1255553321 and I'll be four.

  • So we'll start one.

  • Who's one?

  • No one, no two.

  • No, I'm 53.

  • I made it to the end of my drink and therefore I get a prize.

  • It is my frozen mandarin.

  • I don't know the best way to eat it.

  • So I guess I'll put the whole thing in my mouth.

  • Is it sour?

  • No, Is it really sweet?

  • Is it cold?

  • You're getting a brain freeze right.

  • Yeah, a little bit that was actually really delicious.

  • I guess it's a canned one or something, but it's very sweet and very juicy.

  • That was awesome.

  • And then, you know, is the, I didn't know that I find that that's cool ranch later.

  • Micah is something you guys are excited during the summer break some other time in the school.

  • You can get the frozen like it's still covered with skin.

  • So you need to feel like it's hard.

  • It's frozen the company and maybe the ones that we currently have in school or that they like a little plastic bag.

  • They already peeled now.

  • Yeah, exactly.

  • And they put in a little container, get them like that.

  • So when I was teaching, I used to have a raffle and given to kids, they love, they love me like I think the kids, if he wants this, called it usually junkin for the extra this and that is too super popular sugar.

  • The food is here, not all of it, but most of it look at everything that we have.

  • There's such a big variety.

  • We even have frog's legs over here, wow.

  • But yeah, I guess we're just gonna tuck in and try different things and shall we, it's a, it's a tuck in where to begin.

  • There's so much, I don't know what this is.

  • Can we get some sauce and then I will not have come on iggy.

  • What is it?

  • Good things about coming to, you can experience most of the good japanese like 40 price because you can eat the balls and Yakitori.

  • So super reasonable price.

  • That's the good thing about it is crazy because they also have like Tako Yaki and Okonomiyaki as well.

  • Right?

  • There's like, if you want to try a variety of different types of japanese for, this is the place Jordan, what you're eating, what you're eating for some Yaki sober as well.

  • I love how they put an egg on it as well.

  • Get a little bit noodles.

  • Apparently.

  • Yaki soba is a very popular menu item here and I can see why it's a classic exactly what I wanted and full of flavor packs a punch that Yaki soba sauces.

  • Did you not get anybody sugar?

  • Oh my apologies.

  • I'm not into that.

  • I don't even know how to go about this.

  • Oh my God.

  • Oh my God, it's alive.

  • It tastes like chicken.

  • Really good though.

  • Good flavor.

  • Yeah, it looks weird, but it also looks like chicken.

  • Like, yeah, I believe it's chicken.

  • But yeah, it's really good.

  • You guys have a frog in Australia exists, but we don't really, I think a french restaurant, you probably get it.

  • Oh, I think there's one thing we didn't get on the menu.

  • It's like crickets.

  • Yes.

  • Yeah.

  • I'm not keen to drive, but I had them before.

  • I've done it before.

  • The crickets are dry.

  • They're meant to be, yeah, it's dry.

  • It's like not the best thing to consume bee larvae here.

  • Wet.

  • How about I try some panda Mimi which is essentially the crust of the bread as a bread lover.

  • Would anyone else like to try?

  • Here we go, sarah.

  • Good.

  • It's very oily.

  • It tastes like fried tofu.

  • Yeah, it tastes like bread, but I like peanut flavor.

  • I'm like Japan.

  • Love it, love it.

  • I'll try that one as well.

  • This is good, recommend.

  • So excited.

  • I'm gonna try it.

  • She's selling it to me.

  • I'll get another one of these is really good.

  • It's better than a donut.

  • It's so soft and fluffy, sugary because this bread is so safe.

  • Alright.

  • But it's not a nice fluffy, but it's very anti fried, fried and lightly coated with and it's really good.

  • But it's it's like basically like someone who wants to save money, sometimes I do that you do what you save money, you buy at the bread shop for like 20 cents and I eat that instead of bread.

  • Let me clarify, They actually sell the crust.

  • It's not just like the sides, the pieces, like it's the cycle.

  • So this is the panda Mimi, the crust crust.

  • So you can, you might get this hopefully when you go to the local bakery because these are like one of the most saving money kind of food for the not only I think even it's not now until now, if you want to save some money and if you want to eat something, feeling you buy or you ask for the and then you might get it for free.

  • They rather give you to someone who can enjoy like this because if you're creative, you can eat something delicious, can dip in the junk or the mayonnaise.

  • So this is how you can eat.

  • And then save money.

  • I feel like a lot of the foods here, you'll find them at Izakaya, but a lot of them are just here or just like show up kind of style so you can go to a normal guy and usually get like a coupon or yeah, I've never seen, you can write some kind of story behind.

  • So if you know you're like that's that's really terrific feelings.

  • If you come here with all the japanese people you can enjoy extra because they can talk about oh that's nice.

  • I feel like you feel transported back to that time with all the decorations and everything.

  • Especially like if you watch some of the older jubilee movies, I feel like you've seen some of these kinds of designs that look at that old, she said that's a classic brand that's worldwide and it just looks so different.

  • There's even an old radio here and like the telephone, we are in the branch branch so one of the major place but when I went to the bed there's like a private room and then a bit of a different room right in the car.

  • I haven't seen one that looks like a living.

  • It's like, it's like a show a style living room.

  • There's like an old school bar.

  • Also one very cool where it depends which one you go to.

  • The one I used to go to near a quarter station and they had the old school bar type set up.

  • There are ones that have like like a little tiny tables around them so you can sit down on the, that's the one the part is when they won the game.

  • So I think this branch is very spacious and very often, but if you go to campaign in other branches there's a bit keen blue as well, so please check out the website and then say what you like.

  • My experience with is every, every single humble has different interesting thing, but all related to show up, the hardest thing I've found is that it is very much, it's very popular for those who know about it, but a lot of people don't know about it and the hardest thing is finding the, finding the location.

  • Yeah, always this is the whole thing of, it's always so hard to find them like it's in the basement there like there are two in one is on like the fifth floor of the building and even if you google it, unless you're looking up like this, you will not find it so hard to get to feel like now that you mentioned that maybe I did go to Bombay in kyoto like six years ago and it was just like, my friend, my japanese friend taught me like for this really narrow staircase and it was kind of like this, so maybe it was that also just be ready because they can get really busy, a lot of sometimes I come here, it's just like the weight is super long or they're like now it's just way too, if you have and if you want to try, we recommend you guys to come the week day and right after they open and then maybe you have a bit of a chance or if anything go on their website and you can look there and it's an english english website as well.

  • And from there you can make a reservation english.

  • $100.

  • Yeah, pretty good, 80 or 90 more drinks drink.

  • Speaking of drinks, if you celebrate your birthday here, they actually bring out a huge drink and they will blast the music really loudly and they'll embarrass you in front of everyone.

  • It's really fun.

  • Please try it.

  • Bring your friends or yourself have been so lovely.

  • Thank you.

  • So if you come here, come here light hearted and not sure what you're going to eat.

  • The menu is not explaining.

  • Yeah, I got a big full tummy but none of you were expecting that sound So full.

  • That stuff was so, so good.

  • Here's our receipt, very impressive.

  • And we got 12,408 yen with the stuff and also 1560 and that was the, all the stuff we did it, we got over a million.

  • What was your favorite thing?

  • I like the potato with butter and that was also really, really love this place is a giant frog frog.

  • Was the potato in the Ardennes, the atmosphere and experience Japan.

  • Yeah, definitely.

  • If you come to Japan, you got to check it out.

  • It's so good and yes, of course english friendly menu.

  • It's worth it.
