  • I'm here today at Whitby Abbey for the largest  gathering of people dressed as vampires.

  • An official Guinness World Record attempt.

  • We're here on the 125th anniversary  of the publication of this book,  

  • Dracula. So we're really excited that this  many people are coming to Whitby Abbey to  

  • mark this celebration, this 125th anniversaryWe've had people from all over the world come,  

  • somebody from California, from all  over the UK. 1039 is the number to beat  

  • so we're hoping for 1040. But heart of hearts  we'd love 1897 to homage the year of publication.

  • The most important guidelines for this to  be a successful Guinness World Records title  

  • are that all participants are dressed in  the outfits that have been prescribed:  

  • black trousers or dress, black shoes, waistcoat,  

  • shirt, black cape or collared overcoat  and fangs on the top set of teeth.

  • It's a big day here for English Heritage and  

  • I'm sure everyone hopes this will benew Guinness World Record title today.

  • Ladies and gentlemen, vampires, we've now  reached a final result. There were a total one  

  • thousand... three hundred  and [indistinct, cheering]

  • It's a new Guinness  

  • World Records title!
