I'm here today at Whitby Abbey for the largest  gathering of people dressed as vampires.

An official Guinness World Record attempt.

We're here on the 125th anniversary  of the publication of this book,  

Dracula. So we're really excited that this  many people are coming to Whitby Abbey to  

mark this celebration, this 125th anniversary.  We've had people from all over the world come,  

somebody from California, from all  over the UK. 1039 is the number to beat  

so we're hoping for 1040. But heart of hearts  we'd love 1897 to homage the year of publication.

The most important guidelines for this to  be a successful Guinness World Records title  

are that all participants are dressed in  the outfits that have been prescribed:  

black trousers or dress, black shoes, waistcoat,  

shirt, black cape or collared overcoat  and fangs on the top set of teeth.

It's a big day here for English Heritage and  

I'm sure everyone hopes this will be a  new Guinness World Record title today.

Ladies and gentlemen, vampires, we've now  reached a final result. There were a total one
