  • - Oh, hi!

  • Welcome to Sesame Street.

  • - Hey Elmo.

  • - Oh, hi Alan.

  • - What's all this?

  • - Well Elmo has an arts and craft play date with Zoe today.

  • So Elmo brought all these things to make art with.

  • - Well, what do you know?

  • I'm doing a little painting myself today on that old chair.

  • - Wow. - Yeah.

  • All right, anyways, I'm gonna get back to it.

  • Have fun.

  • - Be careful with the paint.

  • - [Alan] I will!

  • - Hey, Elmo!

  • - Hi, Zoe!

  • - Hi, I'm sorry I'm late, but Rocco had to go to the potty.

  • - But Rocco's just a rock.

  • - Well, Rocco needed a bathroom.

  • - Oh well, Elmo's glad you're here

  • because now Elmo and Zoe can start our play date!

  • - Yeah!

  • What?

  • Oh.

  • Oh. Oh no.

  • - What now?

  • - Well, Rocco says he wants his own play date.

  • - Well just, then find another rock!

  • - Oh, Rocco doesn't like to play with rocks.

  • - Well, why not?

  • - He thinks rocks are boring.

  • - What?

  • - Yeah.

  • I don't know if you know much about rocks Elmo,

  • but rocks don't do much.

  • They just sit there.

  • - You mean like Rocco?

  • - Oh don't be silly.

  • Rocco's different!

  • Rocco's a rock who likes to live life to the fullest.

  • - Okay Zoe.

  • What kind of friend does Rocco want?

  • - Rock says he wants a friend who is loyal.

  • A friend who has dreams.

  • - Yeah yeah yeah, okay.

  • - A friend who loves adventure.

  • - Okay okay okay.

  • - Plus he has to be round.

  • - What?

  • Round?

  • - What can I say?

  • Rocco's very particular.

  • - If Elmo finds Rocco a friend,

  • then can Elmo and Zoe play arts and craft?

  • - Sure!

  • - Okay okay.

  • Then Elmo's off to find Rocco a round friend.

  • - Oh boy, Rocco!

  • Isn't this exciting?

  • - Okay.

  • Here's Rocco's new round friend.

  • - Oh, what do you think Rocco?

  • - Well?

  • - Rocco says he's not sure.

  • - Well why not?

  • - Rocco says he wanted a friend with a face.

  • - A face?

  • - And hair.

  • - Let's make a friend for Rocco, Zoe.

  • - All right!

  • Come on now, we're gonna make a new friend

  • Gonna make a new friend today

  • Come on now, gonna make a new friend

  • So Rocco can go out and play

  • Gonna stick on sticky sticker smile

  • Gonna put a nose right there

  • Add some eyes and some eyebrows

  • And a bit of cottony hair

  • Yeah yeah yeah

  • Come on now, gonna make a new friend

  • That's how this goes

  • Come on now, gonna make a new friend

  • And this friend is Rocco's!

  • Yeah yeah, come on now

  • Gonna make a new friend

  • Okay, it's round and it has a face and hair.

  • See that?

  • What does Rocco think?

  • - Rocco wants to know his name.

  • - Name?

  • Zoe, but it's just a balloon!

  • - A balloon that needs a name.

  • - Oh all right.

  • His name is Balloono.

  • Here.

  • - Rocco likes Balloono.

  • - Good.

  • Now can Elmo and Zoe play?

  • - Oh sure.

  • But just one minute.

  • - Okay, but hurry!

  • - Here we go!

  • Jump, Balloono, jump!

  • Wow.

  • Balloono sure can jump high, can't he, Rocco?

  • - [Elmo] Uh-oh.

  • - Rocco wants to know when Balloono's coming back down.

  • - Elmo doesn't think Balloono's coming back down.

  • - Oh no.

  • Rocco's upset.

  • And it's all Balloono's fault.

  • - Don't blame Balloono, he's just an innocent balloon!

  • - A Balloon that broke Rocco's heart.

  • - Hey guys, guys.

  • Hey, I saw what happened

  • and I know why Balloono floated away.

  • - Because he didn't like Rocco?

  • - No, no.

  • It floated away because it was filled with helium,

  • which is lighter than air, and so it floats.

  • Wasn't because he didn't like Rocco.

  • - Okay, now that Balloono is gone,

  • can Zoe and Elmo play?

  • - How can I play in a time like this?

  • My Rocco still needs a friend.

  • - Another friend?

  • - Well didn't you have fun making Balloono?

  • - Well, yeah.

  • Elmo guesses so.

  • - So do you think you could make another friend for Rocco?

  • - Okay.

  • Elmo will do it.

  • Now what kind of friend should Elmo make this time?

  • - Well, Rocco doesn't want another friend to float away.

  • So maybe this friend should be made of something heavier

  • than a balloon.

  • - That's good thinking Zoe.

  • - It was Rocco's idea.

  • - Oh.

  • Well then good thinking, Rocco.

  • All right.

  • I'll see you guys later.

  • - Okay.

  • Something heavier than a balloon.

  • - And Rocco wants to remind you that it should be round.

  • - Round, right.

  • Ooh, Elmo's got it!

  • Be right back!

  • Come on now, gonna make a new friend

  • So Rocco can go out and play

  • Let's draw a friendly face

  • With a goofy smile like that

  • And rootin' tootin' cowboy boots

  • And a great big cowboy hat

  • Yeah yeah yeah

  • Come on now, gonna make a new friend

  • Gonna make a new friend today

  • Come on now, gonna make a new friend

  • - One that won't float away!

  • Yeah yeah

  • Come on now, gonna make a new friend

  • Go on, Rocco.

  • Say hello.

  • - Well, Rocco says he can't say hello,

  • til he knows his new friend's name.

  • - His name is Eggie.

  • Here.

  • - Hello, Eggie!

  • What, Rocco?

  • Yeah yeah!

  • That sounds really fun.

  • - What does?

  • - Rocco wants to play Patty cake with Eggie.

  • - Oh good.

  • Eggie likes that game.

  • Patty cake, patty cake, baker's man

  • - Eggie!

  • - Oh no!

  • - What did Rocco do to Eggie?

  • - Rocco didn't mean to, and he feels just terrible!

  • Oh, there there, Rocco.

  • Don't cry!

  • - Guys, what happened this time?

  • - Oh, well, Elmo made Rocco a beautiful egg friend

  • but Rocco broke him!

  • - Oh, well Elmo, it really wasn't Rocco's fault.

  • See, eggshells are very fragile so they can crack easily.

  • - Ah, see Rocco.

  • It's not your fault.

  • - I'm gonna get something to clean this up.

  • - You owe Rocco an apology.

  • - Rocco's just a rock.

  • - A rock whose feelings are hurt.

  • - Sorry, Rocco.

  • - Rocco says thank you.

  • - But Elmo doesn't think he can ever make Rocco

  • the right friend!

  • - Sure you can, Elmo.

  • You just haven't found a friend made

  • out of the right kind of materials yet.

  • - Okay.

  • So Elmo needs to make a friend that's not too light.

  • - Mhmm.

  • Or too fragile.

  • - That's right.

  • - But, but then what can Rocco's friend be made of?

  • - Stop stop!

  • Stop the sponge, Alan!

  • - What?

  • - Is Alan's sponge round?

  • - Yeah.

  • Why?

  • - Elmo thinks he can find a perfect play date friend

  • for Rocco.

  • And his name is.. oh!

  • Spongerino!

  • Because sponges aren't lighter than air,

  • so they won't float away.

  • He's not fragile, so he won't crack.

  • - Yeah!

  • - Come on, Zoe!

  • Let's get to work!

  • (upbeat music)

  • Come on now, gonna make a new friend

  • So Rocco can go out and play

  • Let's give him two snap on eyes

  • And a paper mouth right there

  • Gonna stick on an eraser nose

  • And some stringy hair

  • Yeah yeah yeah

  • Come on now, gonna make a new friend

  • That won't crack or float or bounce away

  • Come on now, gonna make a new friend

  • ♪ A friend that's here to stay

  • Yeah yeah

  • Come on now, gonna make a new friend

  • (both laughing)

  • - Rocco, say hello to your new friend,

  • - [Both] Spongerino!

  • - All right, let's try playing together.

  • - Bounce bounce bounce.

  • - Spongerino jumps - Jump jump jump.

  • - Without floating away.

  • - Yeah!

  • - Patty cake, patty cake.

  • - And he plays Patty Cake without cracking!

  • - Yeah! - Oh yeah.

  • - What does Rocco think?

  • - Oh, he thinks he's found the perfect friend.

  • - Great work, you guys.

  • All right, have fun with your new friend, Rocco.

  • - Okay. - Thanks Alan.

  • - Rocco says he will. - Thank you!

  • - Thanks.

  • - Does Zoe still want to play with Rocco and Spongerino?

  • - No.

  • - No?

  • - I want to play my play date with you, Elmo.

  • - Oh yay!

  • Let's make arts and crafts together!

  • - What should we make?

  • - How about more friends for Rocco?

  • Elmo can't believe he just said that.

  • - Good idea, I love these colors.

  • - Yeah, they are nice, aren't they?

  • - What should we make?

  • - Let's see.

  • - How about a cow?

  • - A cow?
