  • So we've got a short video today, but after doing the video about Tokyo's waterways, this has become by far the most requested piece of content of the year.

  • So I managed to managed to secure a boat for today and today is probably the last day of the cherry blossoms too.

  • So I'm out of the kochi doki marina right now.

  • This is the marina in Tokyo, that is super shaky that I am registered to and can do my boat rentals from, it seems that gate is closed right now and today I brought the shamisen girls along so that we can make one of our yearly shamisen under the cherry blossoms videos this morning.

  • I was in shinjuku for a separate shoot and we had rain but now we have this absolutely beautiful weather.

  • Right?

  • Let me say this.

  • So I guess while we're here I should introduce Emmy and Emmy did my boat training for Tokyo because you need specific training to use the Tokyo waterway.

  • You know, one of the questions that I got a lot of is can you use a foreign boat license to rent a boat in Tokyo?

  • No, you have to take a japanese license in japan.

  • Yeah, yeah, you have to study for it, nerd facts.

  • We've got about 4.2 m of depth here and we've got a little cherry blossoms up there and me is by far the most knowledgeable person I know about the Tokyo waterways.

  • Actually, I want to do an entire video with you just where you take us through and sarah's all the, it should be interesting so much.

  • I have a lot of places.

  • Thank you Now we're up to squish Imagawa and then we can see a little bit cherry blossom and then we're gonna go out to the Sumida Gaba And then after that we are going to go, oh Yokogowa, that's my favorite.

  • Mm hmm.

  • Mhm.

  • Okay.

  • So because of the tide, we have to start to shoot a little bit early today because if we don't, we won't actually be able to get out.

  • That's how low the bridges yet there are lower.

  • But this is the area that we're going to film our video.

  • Thank you so much for driving today.

  • It is so much easier to make a video when I don't have to focus on piloting the captaining the boat.

  • I have the same thing.

  • Captain can't shoot.

  • Very good.

  • So, we've actually stored the girls, shammy sens in here and now it's time to get set up to me and I have these here.

  • The girl's life jackets are hidden on the back economies all military today.

  • Oh brother Sakura Ito monkey today.

  • Can you see that Carrie Brown on the surface of the water?

  • Because the water tide goes up to.

  • There are a lot of people are surprised to find out that these rivers can go up and down as much as two m in the tide.

  • So it can change quite a bit.

  • All right, everybody ready.

  • Girls ready, are we ready?

  • And we can slowly go down that way too.

  • That's fine.

  • Alright, a quick snack break in the middle of video to give some love to our sponsor.

  • Tokyo treat and Sakura Co before we jump back on the water.

  • This section is going to be sponsored and includes some snacks.

  • Now if you're new to them, they're both subscription snack boxes.

  • And the big difference is that Tokyo treat includes as many as 20 limited edition exclusive and seasonal snacks and candies.

  • And this month's box is a limited edition Sakura box and satoko focuses heavily on authentic traditional or artisanal snacks and tease.

  • It always comes with some form of table ware while partnering with local japanese snack makers to help carry on their traditions.

  • Which one do you want to try open this one?

  • Here you go, Here you go.

  • There's a theme every month.

  • And for Tokyo treat this month's theme is suck it up, picnic and there's even a few snacks that are exclusively made for Tokyo treat subscribers that you cannot find anywhere else and Sakura coz theme this month is Macha and mochi, which is just an amazing theme and as always both boxes come with a beautiful booklets that outline everything that is in the box as well.

  • And this sent to t from the satirical boxes made exclusively for psychotic.

  • Oh you do.

  • Actually, no, the psychological box itself always has enough for sharing.

  • So here you can have this, you can keep it wow, that's huge.

  • Well the girls snack away in the background.

  • I just want to give huge gratitude to Tokyo treat and second ago for always sponsoring our adventures.

  • I have nothing but gratitude for you.

  • This wraps up the sponsored segment and we're gonna jump back on the water.

  • Now, kiki gathered so many people up on the bridge.

  • So we also have a bunch of kayakers in the water here.

  • So we've got to be careful not to squish them.

  • I've had this set up like this the whole time and just basically hoping it wouldn't fall over.

  • We got lucky because it's a small canal.

  • So M.

  • E.

  • watched my video with the 360 camera and then really wanted a 360 camera and bought one.

  • I got my present.

  • Was it, was it worth it.

  • So we've basically gotten to the point where we have minutes until the tide potentially locks us in.

  • The boat will still have clearance to get through here.

  • But if we get a wave we might end up smacking things.

  • So we've got to pass through here really carefully.

  • Like if I just keep standing like this, I will 100% be decapitated.

  • So okay, that means telling us that the Sakura trees along here are still babies.

  • So while they're beautiful, they don't have that same over the water impact that the ones in the river that we're just, I guess the canal that were just in have which like 35 40 year old Sakura trees.

  • See again, stuff that I otherwise wouldn't know like you can look at those and you can know that their baby second of trees but you wouldn't know that the other ones were like 40 plus years old, you know that this is Alexis and then this shape is like leg of boat, Big boat, like ship.

  • It does look like a big boat.

  • There's a window, that circle, window rounded one and the drawing to be like a boat.

  • But when you walk around, nobody noticed about it.

  • No, you wouldn't notice that from land.

  • You have to see it.

  • Yeah, yeah.

  • From this side, I can notice about it, the number of new apartment buildings that is constantly being put out and I mean giant apartment buildings that keep going up in Tokyo is insane.

  • They just don't stop everywhere you look, there's a new massive apartment complex, There's two things is like the sailboat from outside.

  • So that's the way the carving and the color changes.

  • Huh?

  • Yeah, yeah, I see it.

  • But how do you gather all of this information from outside of it.

  • Maybe sometimes you can see, oh that seems to be a sailboat but you get too close, you can't find out what it really looks like sales.

  • Yeah.

  • Yeah, thank you so much.

  • Thank you.

  • Yeah, 100% want to come back and do a video of Emmy showing us the waterways.

  • So if you guys are interested, let us know in the comments below, we'll see you again next time.
