If you've forgotten the password to your iPad
or you've entered it incorrectly too many times
and it's disabled, here's how to unlock it.
Go to the Find My iPhone website
or open the app if you have it on your iPhone.
For this tutorial, we're using the website.
Log in to your iCloud account.
Click on "All Devices"
and select your iPad from the drop-down.
Click on "Erase."
A window will appear to confirm.
Please note that this will erase
all the contents on your iPad.
Once your iPad is erased and restarted,
you'll be able to restore your contents
with a recent backup.
If you have a recent backup,
you can restore your iPad
with iTunes removing your passcode.
On your computer, start iTunes and connect your iPad
to your computer with a USB cable.
Force your iPad into recovery mode.
For an iPad with a home button,
press and hold the home and power button at the same time
until you see the recovery mode come up on the screen.
For Face ID iPads, quickly press the volume up,
volume down, and then the power button.
A pop-up will appear on your iTunes saying
that there's been a problem with your iPad.
Click "Restore."
You'll now be able to use your iPad
and restore your data from a recent backup.
