  • Roku has discontinued private channels,

  • so they can no longer be installed

  • or used on Roku devices.

  • In their place, Roku has introduced beta channels,

  • which lets developers test channels

  • before certifying them for the Roku channel store.

  • Beta channels expire after 120 days,

  • and only 20 users can install it at one time.

  • In a web browser, open the Roku website

  • and log in to your account.

  • Then open your account page.

  • In the "Manage account" section,

  • click "Add channel with a code."

  • Then enter the code for the beta channel

  • and click "I'm not a robot."

  • Then click "Add channel."

  • Roku will give you a warning

  • about how this is a non-certified channel.

  • Click "OK,"

  • then click "Yes, add channel."

  • The channel will be added to your account

  • and will now appear with all the other installed channels

  • on your Roku home screen.
